"Happy birthday!"

Chaeyoung clapped her hands and watched her brother's face lit up even more upon the arrival of their parents as a surprise. Jimin looked too happy with all that was happening, with Jennie attending the birthday party after Chaeyoung convinced her to come and even their parents were there to celebrate his birthday.

But the happiness soon faded on Jimin's face, she saw, when their father constantly held onto his phone, spitting business terms as he stood at a corner and the same was with their mother, with one hand occupied with her phone and another busy typing something on her tablet.

Nevertheless, she knew that Jimin expected that to happen. It happened one too many times that it would be totally weird if they really didn't do it at least once. Jungkook was with her the whole time, accompanying her before he said he'd run back home to retrieve his birthday present for Jimin that he forgot to bring along with him.

When he came back and asked her where Jimin was, she told him that she saw her brother heading upstairs.

"He's going to love this," he said excitedly.

"What is that?"

"It's a secret," he winked at her and she snorted.

"You're going to keep that a secret from me?"

"Yep." Jungkook laughed, whipping his head left and right when they reached upstairs. "So where exactly is he?"

Just then, Chaeyoung's brows furrowed when there was a thud coming from the area of Jimin's room. She pulled Jungkook with her and the door was slightly ajar. She was about to call her brother's name when the view inside muted her, and she believed, Jungkook as well.

Her eyes widened when she saw Jimin pinning Jennie to the wall while their lips were connected, and Jennie's hands were roaming up and down her brother's chest. When she saw how Jennie was desperately trying to get rid of Jimin's shirt, Jungkook's hand lifted up and covered her eyes, causing her to gasp softly. Chaeyoung quickly pulled Jungkook's hand down and the next thing she heard was Jennie stammering her name.

"Chae –Chaeyoung –"

"What? What?" Jimin breathed, his face was so close to Jennie who was already looking at her. Jimin then turned, following Jennie's gaze and when Chaeyoung's eyes met with her brother's, she flinched when Jimin yelled over the loud music.

"What the hell are you two kids doing here?! Scram!" He pushed the door harshly and Chaeyoung didn't wait till the door slammed to a close as she quickly ran with Jungkook behind her.

Chaeyoung's palm pushed Jungkook's back once she opened the door to her room and she followed him in quickly, shutting the door speedily as though there was a monster chasing after them. She leaned against the door, her hand still holding onto the knob even after she locked it.

When she turned away to look for Jungkook, she spotted him sitting at the edge of her bed. Slowly, Chaeyoung let go of the knob and took a seat just beside him. She stared down at the floor, her eyes never stopped blinking for every five seconds as if that would erase the image of her brother and her friend getting intimate in a way she'd never witnessed before from her mind.

Just as she was focusing on not to think of it again –in which she failed almost every time, Jungkook suddenly chuckled on her side. Chaeyoung's head whipped to look at him and her eyes widened in confusion as she locked eyes with him.

"Look at you," Jungkook said, trying to stifle the chuckle as he lifted a hand to push away her falling hair to behind her shoulder. "You should see yourself in the mirror."

"Why?" she asked.

"You're all red."

Her lips slightly pouted as she cupped her cheeks, feeling the heat emanating from her skin before she dropped her hands onto her lap. "Of course I am. I've never seen them like that before."

She'd seen the two kissed, but never like what she saw a few minutes ago. Chaeyoung knew and could feel that her brother and Jennie had 'done it' in the past, but she never thought much about how gross it was since she never witnessed any passionate moments between the two before. All Jimin and Jennie displayed during the time they were still together was just being snuggly and the most they'd do was pecking each other's lips slightly.

The idea of seeing someone close to her going as far as that grossed her out, although she knew she wasn't supposed to when she'd done similar things with Jungkook for a number of times.

When Chaeyoung lifted her eyes again to look at Jungkook, she noticed that the smile he had earlier had softened, and the only thing that was on his face that time was a faint smile that sort of symbolizing a mixture of adoration and longing. Her eyes blinked softly when Jungkook began to brush the back of his fingers against her hot cheek gently before he cupped her cheek.

Chaeyoung bit her lip softly so as to control her smile when Jungkook leaned in close, his warm breath hitting her face like a soft breeze and when their lips finally met, she unconsciously brought her own hands to cup his face and tried to pull him even closer if it was even possible.

He broke the kiss and she figured that she liked the loud sound created when their lips separated. Jungkook smiled at her right after staring into her eyes for a few long seconds and Chaeyoung felt her heart pounding wildly inside of her. "My... my drawer..." she said breathlessly.

Jungkook blinked at her, his expression showing how confused he was for a split second before he seemed to register it, his doe eyes widening in realization and the big bunny smile he gave her next was giving her butterflies.

"Right, right," he said hastily and got up from the bed, taking one long step toward her drawer and Chaeyoung could no longer stop herself from smiling and even laughing while she sat on her bed.

Just as Jungkook pulled out a box of condom from her drawer, both she and Jungkook were startled at the harsh knocks on her door and the voice of her brother yelling over the loud music.

"Chaeyoung! Open this door!"

Jungkook looked at her with panicked eyes as he dropped the box into her drawer again and quickly pushed her drawer to a close. "Shit," he cursed.

After a few hesitations, Chaeyoung finally approached the door when the knocks got harsher and Jimin wouldn't seem to stop even after she heard Chanyeol calming him down from the outside. "Go," she signaled her boyfriend to escape through the window like the previous time but Jungkook shook his head, approaching her instead and stood behind her.

"He will kill you," she hissed as she turned her head around but Jungkook just smiled at her. "Hide."

"Just open the door," he said gently, rubbing her back and planted a soft kiss on her cheek and that was all it took for her to get all the courage in the world to face her furious brother.

The door swung opened, then, revealing Jimin wearing a furious expression on his face as he looked from her to Jungkook and Chanyeol who seemed uninterested and tired. The latter then walked away, leaving Jimin alone with the two of them.

"What the hell are you two doing in there?" Jimin questioned her like how a father usually would sound like.

Just before she could answer him, Jungkook did it for her, "Definitely not what you were doing with Jennie earlier."

Jimin was a little stunned to retort right after that as he seemed to struggle to find anything to say.

"At least button your shirts properly," Chaeyoung commented with a roll of her eyes.

"Shut up, kid," Jimin said after checking his shirt and looking around. "Why the hell did you lock the door?"

"You seemed like you would be running after us and it was only natural instinct to protect ourselves from someone like you," she reasoned.

"Whatever," Jimin muttered and narrowed his eyes again at Jungkook. "You, get out of my sister's room. Go home."

"What?" Jungkook responded with a genuine surprise. "The party's not over yet."

"Yeah, but I don't want to see you anywhere around this house when I feel like you'd do something to Chaeyoung."

"That's just ridiculous!" Chaeyoung replied, her hands curling into fists.

"What's more ridiculous is how you think it's okay to lock yourself in your bedroom with your guy friend. I don't trust him."

"He's my boyfriend," she responded and she could almost hear Jungkook gulping loudly behind her, or she could be imagining it. It would be a lie if she was to say that she didn't get scared after confessing who Jungkook was to her to her overprotective older brother.

So it was a surprise when Jimin didn't jump at Jungkook. Rather, he was silent for a short moment before cackling in a mocking way. "Boyfriend," he snorted. "Well, if that's the case then you should break it off with him soon since you'll be leaving anyway."

"Who do you think I am? You? Dumping the person that I love just because I'm about to further my studies? That's just plain stupid."

"I don't want to hear anything," Jimin dismissed her quickly and walked away as fast as he could toward his room and Chaeyoung knew that her brother hadn't finished it with Jennie, realizing midway that he should prevent Jungkook from doing anything at all that he feared of happening.

"Let him be," Chaeyoung muttered to Jungkook. "Don't listen to him."

"Never mind, I'll just leave," he chuckled and pecked her lips quickly, his eyes didn't meet hers like how he would. He walked out of her room so quick, and even quicker when he went down the stairs that she couldn't even stop him and Chaeyoung knew that Jungkook felt upset, she could feel it.

With a determined mind, Chaeyoung went past the crowd in her house and ran like a ninja as she crossed the street to go to his house. His parents were definitely home and so was his brother, and there was no way she could avoid being monitored by his mother if she was to knock on the door.

Silently apologizing in her heart for 'breaking in', Chaeyoung went to climb the tree that would bring her to the window of Jungkook's room and thanks to Jungkook never locking his window even at night, she easily slipped in but gasped out loud when the person she found in his room wasn't him.

"Ch- Chaeyoung, what are you doing here?" Junghyun hissed.

"I... I wanted to see Jungkook," she forced a smile. "What are you doing here?"

"Uh... I was –I got him a gift so I wanted to hide it somewhere."

"Oh..." she managed awkwardly, looking at the wall instead of Jungkook's brother.

"I'll go and get him," Junghyun said quickly and she just nodded, her 'thank you' stayed locked on her tongue.

"Your girlfriend's in your room."

Jungkook almost choked on his drink when he heard what his brother just told him. "What?"

Junghyun turned toward the living room where their parents were before looking back at Jungkook. "Do you want me to repeat out loud?"

His eyes widened, mind already imagining his mother nagging all day long and he just couldn't imagine being forced into a lecture for another three to five hours straight from both his parents. "No," he replied and quickly made his way to the staircase.

Jungkook barged into his room, obviously surprising Chaeyoung who was comfortably sitting on his bed. Once he'd safely got in and locked his door securely, Jungkook approached her with light feet. "Babe, what are you doing here?"

"You didn't have to leave," she said with a frown and wrapped her arms around his waist. "Why do you have to listen to him?"

"Being told off many times doesn't feel good. So I thought it was best to leave," he tried to smile as his arms weakly went around her, trying to press her closer to his body and he knew that Chaeyoung seemed to notice that he was completely upset about what happened earlier.

"When you leave..." he began, unable to look into her eyes as he struggled to form a good sentence to ask her. "...are you –"

Chaeyoung stopped him before he could go further, pressing her lips onto his and Jungkook just closed his eyes as he let his lips move together with her.

"I won't," she said soon after they both pulled away at the same time. Jungkook breathed softly when she cupped his face gently and made him look into her eyes. "I can't. I won't be able to."

Picturing her physically leaving had caused him enough pain. It wouldn't be too bad, his mother told him. A day would go by as quick as a second would and they wouldn't even realize later on that years went by. Things would be alright. Jungkook knew it too, he didn't doubt his mother. But he didn't think he could handle separation. And that was only physical separation.

He didn't think he'd be able to bear the pain if things between him and Chaeyoung had to be put to an end. Usually, Jungkook would rarely show fears of such feelings and would act tough in front of her, but after hearing what Jimin said earlier, his heart throbbed so much and it was impossible to hide. Plus the fact that Chaeyoung knew him too well.

Most of the times, Chaeyoung listened to her brother, more than she would to her parents since he was the one who had always been there with her. And Jungkook was afraid that if it wasn't that day, it would be another day. It would be a different time that she probably would consider what Jimin had told her to do.

"No matter what, I don't want to let you go," Chaeyoung continued with a slightly shaky voice, "even if you want to break things off between us."

Jungkook's frown deepened and roughly, he pressed his lips hard against hers, expressing it to her that not in a million years would he choose that option. Not in forever. He never thought of that option at all.

"I'm never letting you go, Jungkook," she said after their lips disconnected and as she tried to finish off her sentence, her sob began to break. "So please, don't let me go, too."

Jungkook shook his head lightly and pulled her into a hug. One hand placed on her head, stroking her ever so gently while another hand he used to rub her back in the most loving manner. "You're silly if you think I would."

Her chuckle escaped with a muffled sound as she pressed her face even more against his shoulder before her sobbing sound resumed and that alone made Jungkook's face split into two as a smile broke. "Why do you cry so much these days? Is it 'cause you know you'll still look good anyway?" he joked.

It didn't stop her, though as her sob got a bit louder and Jungkook turned his head a little to look at his door. "Now that we've confirmed it to Jimin that we're an item, I can be a bit more relaxed, although I have a feeling that he knows all along, just that he has a hard time to accept it. My parents definitely approve of us, except that..." Jungkook paused to let out a chuckle, and again he glanced at the door as he scratched the back of his head. "...except that my mom still disapprove of us being so intimate since she's afraid of me ruining you."

Chaeyoung pulled back slowly with her red eyes and nose, appearing confused as she was looking at him with brows furrowed.

Jungkook smiled warmly at her as he explained in a whispery voice, "They can't know that you're here in my room."

Her eyes immediately widened for a few seconds before the color of rose tinting her cheeks. "Right," she said lowly and took off her arms from around him before wiping her face quickly.

He brushed his fingers under her eyes softly with a soft smile and slightly pinched her cheeks, his favorite cheeks to touch and kiss. "How are you going to go back? Last time you climbed down the tree you slipped and sprained your ankle," he stated with a worried expression.

Chaeyoung pouted at him and shook her head as she looked downward. "Can't I just stay here for tonight?"

He knew that whatever she had in mind was all innocent, but for a split second, Jungkook's mind went back to all the times they almost did 'it' and he mentally kicked himself before he could go further. "Won't Jimin be looking for you?"

"Please, I don't think he would bother to think of anything else further now that he got back with Jennie. Chanyeol won't notice. My parents? They don't care and will never notice."

He smirked and took her hand in his. "I love this rebellious side of you. So hot," he said as he led her to his bed and Chaeyoung chuckled before she quickly covered her mouth, eyes looking at the door while settling comfortably next to him. Jungkook widened his eyes at her playfully and she smiled widely at him. "I know you're rebellious now but we can't get caught, babe!" he whisper-yelled at her with a playful angry expression before pulling her to his chest.

"Are we sleeping already?" she asked softly.

"I don't know," he chuckled. "Do you want to sleep now?"

"No," she chuckled in return. "Should we do something else?"

Jungkook stared at the ceiling of his room and gulped, his lips twitching as he controlled himself from smiling. "Like... like what?"

"I don't know. Like, games for you and guitar for me. I promise I won't sing."

"Oh..." he laughed sheepishly. "I thought..." he muttered and trailed off and didn't continue and didn't think she actually heard it but when he glanced at her, Chaeyoung was looking at him in the eyes with a knowing look which was enough to say that it made his insides roll around in such a pleasant way.

The corners of her lips slowly pulled and a grin was displayed on her face. She leaned for a soft kiss and whispered against his lips. "Maybe next time."

"Yeah," he grinned back. "Next time, I guess."
