Fun

"You'll always be my friend, right? And you'll never go away?"

"I'll always be your friend, Hannah. I would never leave you. You're my best friend and best friends stick together."

"Promise?"

"I promise. I know that your parents say I'm just a figment of your imagination, but I'm much more than that. You made me real, Hannah. I won't go away, even when you grow up and have kids of your own. I'll always be here."

"I love you, Rainbow Smile."

"I love you too, sweetie."

That was the last moment I shared with Hannah before her accident. Before she forgot about me. I still remember the look of terror in her eyes when I appeared. All I wanted to do was give Hannah a hug and tell her that I loved her, but...she thought I wanted to hurt her. My heart hurts every time I think about it. Now, instead of living in the bedroom of my girl, I am living in an abandoned carnival with my old friend. Like me, he had a best friend and he was forgotten too. At least he got to play with his kid one last time. I never saw my girl again. I played with other boys and girls, but I never saw Hannah.

"What's with the long face, Rainie?"

My ears perked up at the voice that spoke my name. I looked up from my place on the carousel and smiled. My dear friend had returned. I laughed slightly and hopped down from the horse I was sitting on.

"I didn't think you would be back so soon. I thought you had a playdate with your friend."

"It ended early. What have you been doing?"

"Oh, you know, just hanging around."

Laughing Jack squinted at me, like he knew I was hiding something. He walked up slowly, making me back up into the carousel. It was awkward between us, but I had gotten used to the feeling. Even though I was created by a little girl, I had matured over the years and understood the advanced feelings people felt. I even understood the feelings between people whose relationship was above friends.

"Laughing Jack..."

His pointed nose touched my nose slightly and I could feel his hot breath on my face. The silence between us was intensifying. Laughing Jack then laughed loudly, maniacal like always. I let out the breath I had been holding and chuckled.

"You ass!!! Why do you always do that?"

"Because I love seeing your reaction. Your face gets so red. It's hilarious!!!"

I rolled my eyes at the monochrome clown and walked away. I heard Laughing Jack scramble up from the ground and run after me. He grabbed me from behind and pulled me off my feet. He gave me a backwards hug, which actually seemed to squeeze the breath out of me.

"L-Laughing Jack. Too tight."

He dropped me instantly. "Whoops. Sorry, Rainie. I was just playing. So, you were thinking about her again, weren't you?"

I whined and my ears drooped along with my tail. "Yeah. I was. I don't know how to get over her."

Laughing Jack looked like he was thinking, but then voices erupted in the carnival. A grin spread on Laughing Jack's face and he laughed. He looked at me and grabbed my hand.

"I know how we can make you forget about her. Let's go have some fun with our visitors."
