Shooting Star
I still remember, she used to sit by my bedside, when i was about to sleep. She would kiss me goodnight and pat me to a lovely dream that awaited. She used to tell my younger sister and me stories of princesses and fairy godmothers and dragons before that and sing the most soothing lullabies in her melodious voice which calmed me down and I would sleep with her hand under my head.
When i was five, i saw and observed the shine and speed of a shooting star for the first time. "Cassy! Cassy! Come here, look, mom's here again!" I shouted. "Where? Where?" she asked with blue eyes sparkling of curiosity.
"You were too late! She's gone already."
"Oh, I always miss seeing her, will i ever even see her?"
"Not always Cassy, you'll see her one day."
"Cassieopia, Sky, come one honey bunches! Off to bed, sweethearts," came Priscilla's voice as she entered the room. "Oh Priscy, you're here! I saw mom!" i told her cheerfully.
"Wow! How was she?"
"You know how she is. You told me she comes to the sky sometimes, flies down to good old Earth sometimes. She was very beautiful, shiny, sparkling but too quick, Cassy couldn't see her."
"Oh, that's okay. You'll see her next time Cassy."
"Sky saw it now, why can't i? Now?" asked Cassy.
"Mom will be sad Cassy, if you don't go to sleep on time."
"Okay then i must sleep."
And then Priscilla sang her lullaby and we slept soundly. Since then I have seen mom alot of times in the sky. Often, she would fly down in her usual sparkle like a fairy through the sky. Priscilla was young at that time probably just 21. When I was 1 and Cassy was just born mom passed away and she was the only one who took care of us. We lived in our little house at a corner where no one ever came probably, because we had no proper family. Mom went to work until i was small but she didn't stay when Cassy was born, when she died, Priscilla has been appearing since then. We don't remember how our mom looked like neither do we have any photograph. Priscilla is beautiful, she wore a long white gown and a tiara always adorned her long blonde hair that were always let down in waves. She used to be with us at important times. At night, patted us to sleep after feeding us, and left food for the next whole day, she cooked delicious. She took us to school, she grew us up, but nobody seemed to notice her, it was like she was invisible. When i turned 17 years old, i woke up in the morning and saw a note on the dressing table,
"Dearest Sky, You are my beautiful young girl. You are now grown up, have a job and are capable enough of taking care of yourself and little Cassy. You both do not need me now. Take care, i love you both and Goodbye as i won't come back. With all my love, Priscilla, who loves you and Cassy"
I cried a lot after that and Cassy said she will be visible like mom did. It was years after i discovered the photograph of Priscilla in our attic and i realized something. Cassy still finds it strange and says, "I wonder why Priscilla and mom had the same name." Only if she knew my little secret with mom. Now I am 24 and have two little kids of my own and I still sleep with Priscilla's picture squeezed in my hug, waiting that one day she will come back again like the shooting star and sing her lullaby, pat me to the dream i never saw after she went away and a sleep i never slept in her absence.

Hi Guys!
This was one other passage dedicated to my mother as I love her a lot and I know she loves me too. So this is also my own. I will be further adding passages from other places as well but I will let you know who is the real author everytime, I have been thinking to start writing poetry in it too, I am not that good at poetry so it will be mostly from other authors but I will try and hope for the best. So I hope you liked this one and don't forget to vote and comment when you view
