Night fell and Veronica switched on her tv, flopping onto one of the beanbags. "Do you play Wii?"

"No.." I shook my head. My parents had never taken the time to buy me game consols. The only thing I had close to a game was my Nintendo, which I barely ever played on anymore.

Veronica gasped, "Oh my gosh! Really?! That's terrible! Don't worry though, I'll teach you how to play." She smiled and pointed to the beanbag next to her. "Sit."

I nodded and sat down in the beanbag. I was handed a Wii remote and I was quickly taught how to play the game. Veronica called the game Wii Sports. I had a feeling that the game wasn't about sitting down and pressing buttons..

After playing the Wii, we watched a couple of movies and before we knew it, it was past 12am. Veronica yawned and flopped onto her bed. "What side are you sleeping on?"

"Any side." I replied with a smile.

"Okay, I'll take the right side then." Veronica announced and rolled onto her side of the bed. I sat on my side and watched as Veronica stood up to turn the lights off. Then she sat back in her bed and switched on her iPad. "Do you have an iPad?"

"No." I mumbled.

"That's fine, you can use my spare one." She opened a draw and took out another iPad. This one had a cracked screen. "Sorry it's cracked. My little cousin dropped it down the stairs."

"It's fine." I smiled, turning the iPad on. The screen lit up and I unlocked it. I had always wanted an iPad, but once again my Dad refused to give me one. He said I would get my iPad when I turned 10.

It was 1 week until my birthday.

I hoped my Dad still remembered his promise.

The sun had already risen by the time I woke up and I sat up to see Veronica was still sleeping. I sighed and got up. I tiptoed towards Veronica's desk and picked up the cracked iPad I had used last night. I turned it on to see Minecraft was still open. For what seemed like hours, Veronica and I had been playing Minecraft. We had made a world together and built our own houses. I found that I really enjoyed playing Minecraft.

I sat back on the bed and began playing again.
