Prologue
Shu's P.O.V
I watched the bright flame as it roared across the land. Singing everything in its path and destroying everything it laid its hand on. Everything I ever cared about was gone and the only thing I could do was watch in horror. How could this happen? Why did it happen? Everything seemed fortunate before it went like this. Now in a flash, it had been withdrawn.
I sat up in a gasp about the dream I had. Never had I thought that I would see that again. I looked next to me to see an empty spot. I sighed to myself before I got out of bed. I hated that space. I grabbed a pillow, along with my blanket before walking into the living room and sitting my pillow on the couch. I laid on it and draped my blanket on top of me before closing my eyes.
"Takahashi-sama, I don't think this is funny." said a feminine voice with the obvious sound of annoyance.
"It's not supposed to be Lucy-chan. I am serious. I really am into you, you know?" Said a male voice.
"It's just that-" I sighed before I put in my earbuds and closed my eyes. That man for the past week has been doing this. It was obvious that Lucy didn't want him. I found myself drifting to sleep.
When I woke up again I saw the reflection of the moon on the ceiling. I used to love seeing it, but that was months ago. Now it just reminded me that I was alone. I used to be pleased about that before I met her but now I had to fill it. So I wouldn't be alone. I stood up and got ready for the night. Once I finished I grabbed my keys and left.
At the Bar
Here, I was never alone and yet I was. Every man who came here always seemed to mind their business, while hoping that a woman would come. It was never uncommon. Rumor has it that the only time it was different was when a man named Yaji, came here with a woman he worked with. I never met them but he was someone who everyone apparently avoided between ten pm to twelve am. The thing was I was only here at nine and had someone willing to leave with me in ten minutes.
An average height, curvy woman, with short bobbed rosy hair, brown eyes, and dressed in a short black dress walked in causing me to smirk. She looked at me and blushed before she looked away. The bar watched her move. She appeared innocent and yet every woman did.
That was until I got them. I looked at the bartender before he nodded and handed me the usual. A person sat next to me causing me to look and see the woman who walked in. She blushed at my gaze. "Do you care to explain to me why you keep staring at me?" So she was one of those types of women. I found myself inwardly smirking. This would be too easy.
