After School

Shu's P.O.V

As soon as school ended, I decided to take the long way out to the front. It was more peaceful this way and I could avoid that annoying woman. Once I got to the front I saw a large crowd of people surrounding something. This was going to be irritating to get through.

"Why is that Lucy-chan?" A student asked causing me to pause.

"I have to see someone."

"Huh?" The crowd said in surprise. She actually decided to come here?

"I... am looking for someone here." The crowd nodded.

"Lucy-chan who are you looking for?" She looked around before her eyes stopped on me.

She walked toward me, tripping in the process. She was clumsy just like usual.

"Ouch" She sat up giving me a view of her bruise on her left knee. She looked up to see me and blushed.

She was going to be punished. I crouched down to her level. "Why are you here?"

"I wanted to tell you that I was back and also that next Wednesday I had to return back to Crocus to finish fixing the thing." She stood up. "I know I should have waited at home but but a man who had been visiting told me this was where you went to school at and that you wouldn't mind." What other men could it have been besides, one of those five? Who skipped class today was the thing. I looked at my phone to see I had about three missed calls. One from Subaru, one from Lucy, and the other from....the right angle. I sighed and stood up. "Shu-san-"

"So this is her?" We looked at the owner of causing me to blink in annoyance. What did she want? "She isn't much of a looker."

"Huh?"

"I mean look at you. You have never even had your first kiss before have you?" She looked at her in confusion.

"I have." I did not need this today.

"Oi"

"So you like to sleep around?"

"I don't" She arched a brow. "Me losing my first kiss does not make me what you think I am." Nanami chuckled. "I don't know who you are but I don't want to cause any issues." She paused and sighed.

"He slept with you right?" Lucy blushed. "Make sure you keep him steady okay? If not I have the right to take him from you." She started to walk away.

"Wait, um...I don't know you but I didn't mean to cause any-" 

"You didn't do anything. The relationship I have with him is not anything. Well, anything you would want to talk about." She said before she walked away.

"We are not dating." She said to herself before she went after her. It was weird, as annoyed as Nanami seemed to be with Lucy, I could see a little amusement in her. Though, it may have been the fact that she didn't have friends. She was a loner. 

I slept with both of them before. In most circumstances, this would trigger anger for both of them or even one but right now they seemed to be trying to understand each other. 

Twenty Minutes Later

Lucy's P.O.V

As we got on the train we were alone. The sounds of the night city filled the silence until the door closed. The atmosphere was off. Was he actually in a bad mood? 

It was hard to tell when he never seemed to give me an expression. "Shu-san, are you okay?" That woman seemed to make him act strangely. I am worried that maybe she might have been someone from his past. Was it someone who he once slept with?

"Why do you care?"

"I noticed your expression."

As soon as the train started to move he closed his eyes. "If you ever see that man again, ignore him."

"Huh....oh, okay." He ignored what I asked before. As the train went under the bridge the lights dimmed. My vision of Shu grew faint. 

"Lucy" Hearing him say my name had been something surprising. He seemed to say it on rare occasions. 

"Shu-san"

"For a little bit, I want you to stay here."

"What's going on?"

"It is your job to care isn't it?"

"I actually care about you, not the job Shu-san."

I felt his stare but he didn't say anything. He didn't speak for the rest of the ride. Instead, he kept his silent composure which I ended up choosing not to bother. As the train stopped I got off but walked in the opposite direction of the apartment.

I had some things to get but didn't know if Shu minded or not. He already didn't want me to leave him but I had to make sure I got the important things needed from the grocery store. 

Flashback

Shu's P.O.V

I stared at the bubbly blonde-haired woman as she took another shot. She giggled before she moved closer to me. "Shu-kun, I like being around you." The more I drank, the more my attraction for her grew. She moved her face an inch from mine. Being this close to me was somewhat comforting. "Shu-kun, you sure are something." This woman named Lucy, I think I understand why Yajirobei was overprotective of her.

"You like her don't you? Do you think she is safe? Anytime you have something you care about, it is taken away." 

"Have you not learned from your mistakes?"  What was I supposed to do?

Now

Why was I thinking about that now? There was multiple women who I've slept with but it didn't affect me this bad. 

Lucy's P.O.V

I should have told Shu. I paused and looked behind me to see that he was not there. So he went home after all. I will go to the closest grocery store and then go back home. Hopefully, he wouldn't be too hungry. I walked into the small grocery store and grabbed a basket before going into the vegetable section.

"Papa, mama said that she needed two onions, not one." A little girl with tanned skin, short, bobbed black hair, dark green eyes said. It was funny. Looking at her now, she looked like someone I knew.

"I forgot she had been making large dishes today for grandma." That voice sounded familiar. I looked to the left to see Kenji. My eyes widened. The two looked nearly the same. She must have been his daughter.

"Hiromoto-san" I let slip out. As he noticed me, I turned around. Even if I walked away I would have exposed myself. 

"Aimi, I will be there in a second as soon as I get the onions."

"Okay," The sound of running came and grew further. If that man was planning on doing something, it would make sense. I quit working for him, in only a couple of hours after accepting the job. I walked near another section of vegetables only to hear the sound of walking. I changed my direction to hear the walking follow me.

"Lucy-chan" Did I really have a choice now? "Lulu-chan" I turned around.

"Yes"

"I haven't seen you in a while."

"Yeah"

"Listen if I was at fault..." His apology flew in one ear and out the other. Those two always did things like that but the night Shu took me home again, was their last straw.

For their entertainment they wanted me to drink but knowing them, they probably had another plan after that.

"Papa" He looked in the direction of his daughter before he looked at me.

"I will talk to you later Heartfilia-san." That's not what I want at all.
