Meanwhile in Ayodhya , RAMA , LAKSHMANA , SHATRUGHNA , BHARATA were sent to the Gurukul of their family preceptor Vasishta .

ONE OF STORIES OF THEIR CHILDHOOD

Once Rama and Lakshmana in the Gurukul saw a lady . She was wearing a very big ring in her nose . It was so much big that it touched the ground [ In ancient times ladies used to wear big nose ring ] . On seeing her Lakshmana started laughing along with Rama . Rama in order to make it small hit the ring with an arrow and the ring became so small that the lady couldn't breathe and hence she shouted for help . Rama in order to help her he again hit the ring with an arrow and again it became big . These were some of the childhood pastimes of Rama and Lakshmana .

The four Princes mastered VEDAS, and got fullness of knowledge and grew into brave handsome lads . They were skilled on driving chariots , horse riding and elephant riding , hunting animals , practiced various weapons with such a skill that won admirations of experts . Rama and Lakshmana were skilled in ARCHERY also .

In addition to this the four Princes were also famous for their bonding between them . They were devoted to each other and in this Rama and Lakshmana , Shatrughna and Bharata shared a special bond . Lakshmana did everything that pleased his elder brother Rama and followed him like shadow. Lakshmana was like Rama's second self . Similarly Shatrughna and Bharata were attached to each other and loved each other . Gradually they crossed their childhood .
