Coincidences were something that rarely happened, it was not in the least unwelcomed, but never did it strike her as anything of value. Things happened and were bound to happen again, in a less parallel of ways. But for Esther, coincidence scarcely crossed her path, therefore, her curiosity about the coincidence or perhaps the shock of familiarity led her to approach the young man who happened to be wearing a doctor's robe seated casually on a bench near the hospital's cafeteria. When she first laid eyes on him, her first impulse was to call out a certain name, but upon deeper inspection, she concluded that he was only a coincidence. But still, she found herself drawn and walked up to him. The young man had his face upturned, eyes closed, and appeared deep in thought.

Zackary started his day filled with hope and newfound determination. He walked out of his room with his white coat, deciding it was time to flaunt who he was. The curious stares given to him by some people a day before did not sit right with him. They might be wondering who he was, so that day he decided to properly introduce himself, non-verbally, of course, Dr. Mori will have the honor of that.

He set out for the cafeteria but decided to drink his coffee on one of the benches inside the garden. The morning dew, still present on the wooden seats did not deter him, he was too happy and excited to even care. He wiped a certain spot with the tissue he got with the coffee, flipped his robe to prevent it from getting wet, drank his hot beverage, and after, gave himself more time to enjoy the morning sun. As he closed his eyes, he went back to the contents of Genelyn Calderon's file. The woman was an outstanding student, had peer domination, was popular and rich — he had to smile at that thought — the woman was filthy rich. 

Though the nature of her wealth was not mentioned in her file, it was still made clear that the woman could afford practically anything she wanted. She was sixteen when she began showing signs of delusion. According to Dr. Mori's findings, she suffered persecutory, referential, grandiose, erotomanie, and nihilistic delusion. She practically boxed the entire lot, but most of the time, she suffered from more bizarre dilutions. She insisted that a force which she called the shadow has been the cause of her weird behavior, blaming it, specifically for her brother, his wife, and her niece's murder.

Zackary seeing the crime scene photos the previous night could still feel the bitter taste and nauseated feeling it left him. The two children, ages eight and ten died from blunt force trauma to the head. They were found side by side on their bed. It was weird how she even changed their clothes and put on their shoes. If she was trying to erase any evidence, why didn't she bother cleaning them thoroughly or burying their bodies somewhere? She changed them but left their wounds to bleed out on their new clothes. Her brother was found in the kitchen, he died of severe blood loss due to multiple stab wounds. Twenty-five stab wounds to be precise.

His brother's wife was found inside the bathroom submerged in the bathtub which was filled with water. She suffered the most, with a total of thirty-eight stab wounds positioned on different parts of her body and a fair amount was on her right leg. Blunt force trauma to the head and severely broken scapula were also evident. A rope was found tied to her neck arms and legs. The rope was embedded so deep in her throat that the object penetrated the skin and tissues leaving the rope trapped between her upper vertebrae nearly decapitating her head from her body. The police coroner also stated that the water inside the tub was initially mixed with salt and some kind of corrosive liquid which they failed to identify.

Did she cut her while she was submerged in saltwater, and alive? That's torture Zackary mused, He felt shivers run down his spine at the thought of it. The entire murder was caught on the CCTV that her brother had installed around their house only three days before the incident. Did he know? Did he in some twisted way know that Gen was about to hurt him and his family? If he did, why did he let her stay with them? And if Gen was showing mental instability, why didn't they seek professional help earlier?

There was no record of arguments between Gen and any member of the family in the days leading to the murder so the motive was never brought to light. The bodies were found 2 days after the murder when a neighbor called the police about a woman drenched in blood sitting in front of the house's patio. In the entire proceed of her case, Gen insisted that it was the shadow who committed the murders. A contradiction from what the CCTV captured. Upon further investigation, the court found out that the shadow persona has been a problem with Gen for almost two years before the murders which allowed the judge to accept the plead of insanity.

Zackary was awakened from his musing when he heard someone clearing their throat. He opened his eyes and was greeted by an old woman, probably in her sixties. She wore a black dress with a white shawl draped over her shoulders, her face was wrinkled and littered with dark age spots. She was staring at him with a face that looked bewildered but at the same time questioning. She stood uncomfortably close, just a few inches away from him, her legs almost touching his knees. At first, Zackary didn't know what to make of her, clearly, the sound she let out was meant to get his attention, but now that she has it, the woman all but stared at him.
     
Did she want to sit on the bench or talk to him? Zackary couldn't decide because he was miserably failing to read her. He let her stare at him for a few seconds longer before finally asking what she wanted, using his formal and professional tone. The woman smiled and introduced herself as Esther while extending a hand to him. He took it and introduced himself, not failing to inform her that he was a newly hired psychiatrist.
     
The woman gave a shocked and amused look when he said so, but it was immediately replaced with a smile, a very warm smile.
