Tiamat
(In Mesopotamian mythology, Tiamat is a primordial goddess and the personification of saltwater and chaos. She is often depicted as a dragon or monstrous sea serpent, but can also be described as a woman or a body of water. Tiamat is also known as the "Glistening One" and the "mother of monsters.)
Typhon
(Typhon is the son of Gaia (Earth) and Tartarus (the Infernal Regions), though some sources say he is the son of Hera or Cronus. He is also known as Typhaon or Typhoeus. Typhon is described as being tall, with a brutish face, wings, and a lower body made up of coiled serpents. He also has countless snake heads in place of hands, fiery eyes, and can breathe fire. When stretched out fully, his bottom half could reach the top of his head and made a constant hissing sound. Typhon is said to be so powerful that he struck fear into even the Olympian gods and is the "father of Monsters".)
Unofficial sources:
Gojira's father could have also been a Yokai Hōnengyo though if it was true or not is unknown or was lost to time.
Hōnengyo are strange fish or amphibian yōkai which occasionally appear in rivers. They can grow quite to be large—at least over two meters long.
(The similarities between the two (Hōnengyo &
Gojira) are there and not at the same time...)
