IT TOOK LACY EXACTLY 12.4 MINUTES TO TURN OFF THE ALARM AT THE WILD LIFE SANCTUARY IN NASHVILLE TENNESSE.
Ten of those precious minutes were her convincing the security guard that she would buy him donuts if he let her lock up the souveneir shop. All this time wasted on persuading a guard to leave the premisses when all she had to do was let him have a whiff of the sweet smelling delights otherwise known as donuts.
And as for the other 2.4 minutes? They were spent on wiring the alarm, the task she was meant to be doing all along.
After hacking into the alarms, Lacy hastily got to turning them off. Once this was successfully completed, the lights unexpectedly blinked off.
Someone had turned the power off.
This meant that all the overhead lights and street lamp posts surrounding the sanctuary were out, plunging it into darkness.
Fortunately for Lacy - who was an expert when it came to hiding in shadows - this meant that she had the upperhand. Because, if she couldn't see the person who had most likely turned off the power, it meant that he also couldn't see her.
And that was all she needed to kick her plan into gear.

THE AIR ABOVE WAS COLD, A CERTAIN DARKNESS TO IT THAT COULD ONLY BE LEAD BY THE CORRUPTED FORCES OF HYDRA.
The steady trickling of water from the pipes overhead and the billowing wind crashing against the scantuary's stainglassed windows made it hard for Lacy to think. Leaning on an ancient forklift, Lacy could barely make out the shadows of the animal cages placed around the park, nevermind the secret hydra agent running around the park.
She crept past the leaking pipes and into the abyss of darkness that she hoped was going to be her alli on this supposed suicide mission. Sweat glistened on her forehead, her adrenalin had spiked to crazy high levels which were otherwise impossible to contain.
The built up apprehension was the worst part of playing hide and seek with the unknown. It was the silent urkings of fear that Lacy hated. The way she could never know what was coming to her, or what was going to jump out at her.
She could only hope that darkness was by her side tonight.
And hope she did.
Because in a situation like this, fear of the unknown was the worst fear to have. And apprehension for the unknown is almost unbearable to endevour.
