Chapter Two
How long had it been since i last had someone in my bed?
I never had anyone sexually there, but it had been forever since I had a body besides me.
It was nice, to wake up wrapped in strong arms, face pressed against a strong chest.
Everything about it was amazing.
I yawned and pulled myself away, sitting up. I didn't want to get up, but there was someone ringing my doorbell in the most annoying way. I sighed and got out of bed, pulled on some sweats and a hoodie. I left out some clothes for Connor as well, secretly hoping he'd stay asleep as I went to the door.
He did stay asleep while I left the room though.
I briskly walked towards the entrance and flung open the door, seeing my wonderful friends slash coworkers standing there.
Heather was my best friend, but these two came close.
The one actually ringing the doorbell was Rachel, who had short black hair in a pixie cut and heavy framed glasses covering her hazel eyes. Had I not known her name, I would not have guessed an American one.
The other was Kyle. He was a very lean, professional looking guy with thick frames as well covering his blue eyes. He had warm honey brown skin and the darkest raven locks. He was attractive, but I was never I to him.
Fuck, I thought I was ace until last night.
"So early..." I whined at them.
"Good morning, thought I'd come pick up your manuscript and ran into Kyle." Rachel informed me.
"What about you Kyle?"
"Oh, I came to give you a congrats gift. Another platinum record and the album looks just as good."
I smiled, seeing he had drinks for me. "Just step in for a minute, though do try and keep quiet, I have a bit of a headache."
"Right, you went to visit Heather, how is she doing?" Kyle asked, walking in and setting the drinks by my fridge.
"Great! She's always teasing me though."
"Sounds like her. Ever since I first met her, I knew she was headstrong...." he muttered.
"You proposed to her, so I give you no pity."
Rachel smiled, "so, you pick up a date for the wedding?"
I shook my head and went over to the coffee table, grabbing the manuscript, handing it over, "not really."
"Well, we hope you can find someone."
They were about to go, having gotten what they needed when my bedroom door opened. I heard Connor yawn as he stepped into view, rubbing his tired eyes, thankfully in sweats.
"Mind if I borrow your shower?"
"Go ahead."
When he was out of sight, I could feel the heat rise to my face, turning to my friends, both who had the most cocky faces.
"And here I thought you were asexual?" Rachel purred out.
I scratched the back of my neck, "I thought I was. I don't know what compelled me to him, but we both hit it off naturally."
"So, what's his name?" Rachel asked.
"Connor."
"Marcus and Connor? That's kinda cute." Kyle said, teasing me.
I rolled me eyes, "can you guys bug off?"
"Alright, Alright, but you better properly introduce us next time." They left quickly and I sighed, heading back to my room.
Quickly, I noticed the shower wasn't on yet. Maybe I could sneak a shower with him?
I peaked my head in, seeing him tiredly leaning against a wall, half undressed.
"do you need help?" I teased. His entire body jolted from shock. "Better yet, can I join you?"
He was definitely awake now and nodded shyly. I smiled awkwardly and walked in. "So who came to visit?"
"My friends. I wish they came later because I really just wanted to stay in bed longer."
A beat, "well, now you have the chance to shower with me?" The pink in his cheeks was blue enough he was just as bad at flirting as I was.
"We're not good at this, are we?" I walked over and wrapped my arms around his neck.
He naturally let his hands fall to my waist, "not at all. I'm actually happy that I'm not alone in this though."
I laughed, "same here." I pulled him down to me and let out lips meet. It was brief, morning after bliss with such a sweet kiss. I pulled away after a few moments. "You have classes today, right?"
"Yeah."
"Then... we should shower. As much as I'd like to go back to bed with you or just talk with you, I can't pull you from your studies."
He seemed slightly saddened, but nodded. He started up the shower and finished undressing. I followed suit.
Even though we were... intimate the previous night, I still couldn't help but feel embarrassed. I swallowed back the feeling and stepped into the shower with him, hit water instantly scalding my skin.
I had taken a shower last night, to clean myself up and everything, but this was great.
We bathed in a comfortable silence and were pretty quick. We immediately got dressed and headed to my living room, where I went to the kitchen to make breakfast.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"Anything."
"Then I'm going to be lazy and just make you some scrambled eggs and toast."
"Fine by me."
I smiled to myself as I got to work. Connor was honestly really nice to be around. I liked him, even if it wasn't automatically romantic.
"So, what's the alcohol for?" He asked.
"Gift for a job well done."
"Oh, you work with them?"
"Yup. I met them through college and we all ended up working together. They guy you saw is getting married to my best friend next Spring."
"Oh! That's fun."
I shrugged, "I suppose. I'm happy for them. They keep nagging me about my own love life. I personally thought I was ace until last night."
"You did?" There was genuine shock in his voice.
"Yeah. I think I can change my sexuality to Connor-sexual."
He laughed, "stop it, you're going to kill me."
"I'm just saying the truth." I crack some eggs onto the frying pan in front of me, "so what major are you in?"
"I'm in business. I actually wanted to do law, but it ended up not being a good fit."
"Sad to hear."
Connor causally shrugged, "it's for the best anyways. So, what college did you go to?"
"Oh, I graduated from Heathsvile university."
"Really?" He said in an exclamatory way, "I actually go there myself!"
"It's a good school, but that's quite a coincidence."
It was also awkward since I was supposed to make an appearance there that day. I was sure it would be fine.
"Eggs are done!" I said proudly, putting the scrabbles eggs on plates and going to the toaster, plucking out four slices of toast, quickly slathering them with butter and putting them right next to the eggs on each plate.
It was a relatively peaceful morning after.
Oh, what drama was awaiting us.
