Chapter Six

Connor didn't come over only for sex. Besides that weekend, we really didn't have sex much. We liked cuddling and watching movies. We had other things to focus on.

So, we spent the next month pretending we weren't dating. It went well. It made sense that we got along, we had very similar interests and so, we became glued at the hip. If he wanted me somewhere, I'd be there. And likewise.

So when I came to tell his friends, we just casually mentioned it while we were all eating at a restaurant. Heather has joined us since she was the only one who didn't know. She knew i had been flirting with him, but only three people besides Connor and I knew we've been together much longer.

"So, there's a reason we wanted to hang out," Connor hummed plainly, reaching for the nearby salt.

"You could just ask me to hand it to you..." I muttered jokingly, passing it along to him.

Heather rolled her eyes at us, "so what did you want to tell us then?"

Connor looked at Jamie and Ash, then at Heather, then at me, "Marcus and I started dating last week."

The three of them took a moment to let it sink in, and were just, stunned.

"Really Marcus?" Heather began, "I thought you were ace?"

I shrugged, "I thought I was too, but, after being around Connor, I'm not sure I am anymore."

Connor went entirely red, happily smiling to himself. I felt heat tingle through my body as well.

"As long as you are kind to him and treat Connor well, good for you two," Ash said, taking a bite of his food.

"I agree. You seem happy, so I don't mind."

Connor and I had both let out a relaxed sigh, leaning into each other.

It was hard pretending i was dating someone else when I was Hero Maker, cause I couldn't just go and give out his name or who he was.

All I said is we wanted to keep our love life private since he was a college student who needed to focus on his studies.

That stopped fans from pestering me, but paparazzi and interviewers just got more annoying. Thankfully I had the best security around.

But all of that brought me to the predicament I was facing.

I was supposed to do an interview with my boyfriend. An interview I turned down.

Sadly, since it was seen as I only disagreed since I didn't want him to be shown, they agreed to a masked interview.

It was a new thing, where guests wore masks and wigs to hide their identities.

When i voiced my complaints to Connor, the fucker agreed to do it.

So yeah, that was how I ended up sitting next to my boyfriend on a talk show, him wearing a face mask covering half his face, brown contacts and black wig with a tad bit of makeup and some slightly baggy clothes.

No way was I letting anyone see his nice body.

I was wearing my usual getup and both of us still were increasingly infatuated with each other. It was scary how I still wanted him to fuck my brains out in his disguise.

Maybe it was because I knew it was him.

Our bodies were close, my hand in his as we sat on the couch across from the interviewer. They were discussing a few things before the show started with the camera crew.

"I can't believe you agreed to this?" I whispered to him.

He mumbled back, "it would be weird if I didn't show up eventually."

"Still, people might figure out who you are."

"It will Be Fine, stop worrying."

I wanted to argue more, but the interviewer turned to us, smile on her face, "Are you two ready?"

"We're ready!" Connor said happy before i could say otherwise.

She smiled sweetly, "so before we start, what do you want to be called by?"

"Well, I suppose something close to my actual name would work, so how about Cameron?"

I stifled a laugh, "it doesn't fit you."

"But I have to choose something."

"Cameron will work," I assured.

"Let's begin then!"

We smiled as filming began, facing the interviewer.

"Welcome back to Idol Utopia. I'm your host Jasmine Rivers. Today we have the famed singer Hero Maker, and the cutie next to him is his boyfriend. Because the pair wishes privacy in their life, we will be calling him Cameron. Good to have you two on the show."

"Thank you for having us," Connor said sweetly.

Was was bad that I had already felt anxious?

I wanted him to myself. With even the smallest exposure, my life of privacy with him could disappear. He could lose interest! He could-

"So, you're a college student, right?" Jasmine asked Connor.

He nodded, "I am. Me and Hero went to the same college, just different times. Gave me quite the shock when the boyfriend I had just got appeared at my school and was really boosting my ego."

"You were very cocky, weren't you? Not that I mind," I laughed softly, squeezing his hand in mine.

"Ego boost?"

"Well, he told me and a lot of people that he's never felt attracted to anyone before, then I popped into the picture."

"That's..." Jasmine seemed surprised, "really?"

I nodded, "I never felt attraction to anyone before, but when I saw him, my heart stopped and... I fell for him."

"Would you say it's love at first sight?" He joked, to which I judged him playfully.

"You know I don't believe in that crap."

"I don't know, seems like love at first sight," he hummed.

I rolled my eyes, "sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night."

Jasmine had a small smile on her lips, eyes quickly drifting to our hands, then back up to us, "so, you said that Cameron was your first?"

I nodded, "honestly, I think it was a spur of the moment thing, but I don't regret any of it. His bedhead was cute."

"I didn't get to see yours since you had to answer the door."

"I didn't want to, but I feel like they would've broken down my door. Also, my manager has a spare key."

"Fair. I did get to see your bedhead later anyways."

"I take it you stay over often then?" She asked Connor.

He nodded, "I can only stay on weekends since school and all, but I do drop by during the week sometimes for an hour or so."

"We need to go on more dates. We've been on like, two."

Two glorious dates. The first one was dinner and a movie, the second was a walk in the park under the stars with ice cream.

"So, what do you two plan to do going forward?" She pressed, leaning toward slightly.

Connor flushed a bit, "I don't know. I feel really lucky he's in my life, so I'm just going to cherish him as much as I can."

"Cherishing me by killing my hips?" I teased. Even under his black mask, the red on his cheeks was obvious.

"Hero!"

"Where'd that cocky attitude go?"

He puffed his cheeks out and squeezed my hand, "it's because I can never be too cocky with you around."

"I wouldn't assume you guys haven't been together long. You act like a married couple."

"We do?" I said, slightly surprised, "I guess I wouldn't exactly know what that looks like."

"Why is that?"

"My parents are divorced and have been for the longest time."

"Oh... well, I'm s-"

"Don't sweat it. How are you supposed to know something I never told you?"

I believed I mentioned it briefly to Connor, but I never went into full detail about it.

"Oh, does your parents know about your relationship?" Jasmine asked.

"I haven't gotten around to it. I don't see them often enough to tell them."

"What about you Cameron?"

Connor smiled, "I've told them. They said they can't wait to meet him when they visit. It won't be for awhile though."

"They seem like nice people from how you've described them, so I can't wait to meet them myself."

"I'm sure they'll love you."

Janine must've felt like a third wheel, because Connor and I were always lost in our own world. "So we said earlier that you're Hero's first, what about You?"

Connor quirked a brow, "it's the same. I had never been in a relationship prior to Hero."

"So you're both each other's firsts? In presumably your twenties?"

"Seems like it."

"Well, that's all I have to ask, it was nice having you on."

"It was nice being on," Connor said.

"Thanks for having us."
