Chapter Four
"Geez, how are you able to put that shit on all the time?" King asked as I got out of my shoes, switching to my much more comfortable sneakers.
With a sigh, "I like having privacy. I also don't want to disappoint my fans with how average I am."
"Please, you're far from average." He adjusted to move his arms to his knees, resting is elbows on them, "so what's this about you loosing your virginity?"
I laughed, "Yeah, I honestly never thought it would happen."
He chuckled a simple, "yup."
"Anyways, it just happened. I met this guy at a bar and I think I fell for him at first sight."
"I thought you didn't believe in all that?"
"I don't, but there has to be some explanation to my immediate interest in him."
King shrugged at that, getting up and walking over, helping my fix my messy shirt.
Another reason I could've never dated him was because he was too father like, I couldn't see him as anything else.
I let out at sigh, "I have never wanted to jump into bed with someone before, but I guess I was just waiting for him all my life."
"Well," he hummed, backing away, "I'm glad you're happy, you deserve it."
"Thanks man."
King chuckled, "thanks again for coming, the look in everyone's faces was great. They'll probably be kissing my ass now too, thanks to your comments about how I helped you."
"You're welcome."
"So, what are you doing after this?"
"I have no idea. I really need to make a schedule or something"
King was about to say something when there was a knock at the door. He got up and went over to it as I casually peered to see who it was.
"I'm sorry but-"
I recognized the voice and shot up like a bullet, rushing over and dragging Connor inside, smiling brilliantly.
"Hi!"
He flushed awkwardly, "Hey. I thought you said you were a writer?"
"I am a writer. This just happens to be my other job."
"So this is the guy you feel for?" King teased.
I heated up, nodding, "King, this is Connor. Connor, I assume you already know your headmaster?"
He nodded, "Nice to properly meet you!" He said quickly.
King merely smirked, "I hope you treat Marcus right, he's a good friend of mine."
"Obviously I'll take care of him. I'm not the type to just have a one night stand."
"Good. Well, I'll let you two be. I have paperwork to look at. Thank again for coming today Marcus."
"It was my pleasure." We hugged goodbye and I left with Connor, the two of us side by side, just chatting, trying not to seem too much like a couple.
"So, did your friends pester you with questions? You did ditch them last night."
Connor nodded, "I just said I walked you home and you thought I was way to drunk and let me sleep on your couch."
"Then that's the story I'll tell to. My coworkers and your headmaster are going to be the only other people who know otherwise."
"I still find it hard to believe I was your first kiss."
"Again, I thought I was ace until last night, oh, aren't those your friends who are approaching?"
"That would be them," he huffed.
Two people approached, guy and a girl who looked exactly the same.
Twins.
Go figure.
They both had platinum blond hair and brown eyeshadow the guy had his hair dyed red at the tips though.
"Connor, why'd you ditch us? We were going to look for Hero!"
Connor smiled, "oh, Marcus came to say hi and i wanted to see him."
"What, falling for me already? Isn't that a bit quick?"
"Can you stop with that?"
I was glad we could joke so easily. Anyone looking on would just think we were friends, which was best for then.
"Hi, I'm Marcus, I didn't get a chance to introduce myself last night," I held out my hand.
The girl took it first, "I'm Jamie and this is my brother Ash. We're Connor's best friends."
"Nice to meet you then."
"You're cute, I can see why Connor ditched us," Jamie joked.
"How old are you? You go to a nearby college or something?" Ash asked.
"I'm twenty five. I'm graduated as well."
Both of them seem shocked. I guess i looked like a child still.
"I could've sworn you were younger than us!" Ask proclaimed, "that's not fair, you're so cute!"
"Thanks. Anyways, I better get going, I have a meeting with my editor."
"Could I drop by tonight? It is a Friday."
I knew what he was hinting at, I knew what he wanted that flew over his friend's heads. A smiled wormed it's way to my lips, "Yeah, that would be fun, but I have one room, so you're taking the couch if you end up staying over."
"You're no fun."
My phone started ringing and I saw it was Kyle, and I puffed out my cheeks, giving an apologetic look while answering.
"I was about to head over to meet Rachel, what's up?"
Kyle groaned, "apparently some news outlet was there today and guess who's all over the news?"
"You're such a worry wart, I can handle all that stuff."
"If you say so. I hope that you'll be okay. Thankfully very few people know who you really are, but if you're seen with Connor as Hero Maker-"
"I know. Thanks for worrying but I feel like you should focus more on you're fiancé than me."
"Oh come on man!"
"Bye."
"Bye Marcus, be safe."
I hung up, turning back to the three, "my friends are overbearing at times. Anyways, I got to get to work, see you tonight Connor and nice meeting you two."
I waved goodbye and walked off.
I saw Connor happily start talking to his friends, the trip heading off to somewhere i wasn't aware of. Then it occurred to me and I quickly turned back and ran over.
"I nearly forgot, I might not be back by the time you drop by, so here's a spare key," I pulled a key from my pocket and pressed it in his hands.
Connor's wars went pink, "t-thanks!"
"Now I'll see you later."
Eight that settled, I quickly headed off for a meeting with my editor.
Oh boy.
