Sandbusted (Revised)
"Alright guys, the next episode is coming up. I just want to ask do any of you guys have questions?" Chy asked quickly rubbing her hands together eagerly.
No one had any, so she nodded and moved on. Chy clapped her hands. "Perfect, though, before we start I want to bring in some other visitors."
With a flash, Mala, Throk, and Dagur along with Sleuther appeared, startled at the quick change in scenery but unharmed.
Heather brightened as she jumped up heading towards her deranged brother. He spotted her instantly opening his arms wide. "Sister! I was wondering where you went. First you were on Berserk, and the next your gone. I was practically screaming with worry."
Heather had to admit it was weird listening to her brother as he showed his concerns. It wasn't too long ago where he was screaming in her face about betrayal and family names. Yet, she would take this Dagur over any other. She hugged him back just as tightly.
Chy cleared her throat. "Yeah, that was my fault." She pointed to the open chairs next to Stoick and Gobber. "Queen Mala, if you'll be so kindly to seat here that would be nice."
Mala remained standing. "I know you're not a threat, but I wish to return to my island at once. Since Viggo's attack my people have been making repairs and I must be there."
Stoick being the chief he was stood up. "I will proudly assist resources if necessary. "
Mala smiled softly. "The offer is nice, but my people can do nicely. Though personally I'm grateful we've become good partners in this war through your fellow Rider's. They truly are a relief."
Stoick chuckled his laughter booming. "I wish I could take credit, though the honor befalls on my son." He waved his hand over the Gang but his eyes landed on his son's. Hiccup listened with interest, but he couldn't ignore the pride in his father's eyes. Hiccup nodded with a smile pleased.
Mala smiled. "I can certainly see where he gets his skills in diplomatic relations from."
Chy nodded satisfied. "Yep, the Rider's are a tremendous help in this war, your Majesty, though I can assure you, your people are safe and well looked after. You won't be here forever, just to see the outcome of this war."
Mala glanced over at her friend. "What do you think Throk?"
He shrugged slowly. "I don't see any overwhelming concern at the moment, and I would like to see where this goes."
"Me too," Chy muttered thinking about the episode 'Snuffnut'. "Good now let's get started."
[The episode starts as a man hauling his boat off a beach that's full of objects. The man walks to the middle of the beach but stops when a rumbling sound is heard. Suddenly the man is pulled under the sand making it look like nothing happened.]
"What happened?" Astrid asked quietly.
"I can't tell you," Chy replied. "But I do enjoy the plot of the episode."
[The screen then shows someone holding a circular object.]
"Wait! I know those carvings..." Stoick remarked loudly, but Chy interrupted.
"DON'T SAY IT! Not yet!" Chy yelled over him.
"Eh, just like I remember." Hiccup said quietly to himself. The story that behind gift is certainly a tale to be treasured.
Until Snotlout ruins it. "Hey! What you got their?"
Hiccup had to dodge Snotlout's clammy hands, pushing him away from the metal object. "Uh, Eh nothing."
Snotlout took that as an invite. "Well if it's nothing then give me it. Hookfang and I are making a ceremonial of yours truly, me and Hookfang need all the junk metal we can melt down."
"What! This isn't junk. It's my betrothal gift to Astrid. It means we will be together forever." He remarked.
Astrid couldn't help that blush that crept up to her cheeks when he said those words. Heather elbowed her friend's ribs, but Astrid gave her a half felt glare before giving Heather her own jab to the ribs.
Tuffnut grinned. "Woah, H. Going in for the win now, huh?"
Hiccup glared, though the adults saw right through, and Hiccup knew that too.
Chy decided to cut him some slack. "Well, it's not that surprising. I mean everyone knew about you guys, this just means your ready for the next step in your relationship."
Snotlout laughed. "Isn't there suppose to be a bridge for them to cross first? Looks like Hiccup just jumped the whole thing."
The Twins bursted out laughing. Hiccup blushed while shifting uncomfortably in his seat.
"Okay, okay, knock it you three, we have an episode to watch, so let's continue, shall we?" Chy asked.
"YES PLEASE!" Hiccup and Astrid said quickly.
Snotlout jumped in, "Forever?! Not if you give her that rusty old piece. Hey, you what would be a great idea. A decorative battering rail. Oh! How about a shining you ball and chain. Wait! A bludgeon with her initials."
[ Hiccup And Toothless continued to exit their hit letting the doors slams in Snotlout's face.]
The Twins snickered. "H, is has left the building."
Snotlout winced at the door smashed into his face, "Ow!"
[The screens now shows Astrid's hut with Astrid looking through her belongings furiously as Fishlegs enters.]
Fishlegs glanced around the hut, "Astrid!"
Astrid quickly cut him off, frustration deep in her tone. "Fishlegs, unless this has to do with Hiccup's betrothal gift, the one I haven't gotten him yet. The one I have no clue where to start!"
Hiccup rubbed his neck. "You know you don't have to get me anything right?"
Astrid sighed next to him. "I want to. I mean there's no way I could beat your own mother's betrothal gift, but I want this moment to mean something between us."
Hiccup grinned, gently wrapping his fingers around Astrid's.
Stoick and Mala saw the moment and the two chief shared an understanding of the moment. It was definitely something special to celebrate in one's own tribe. Mala witnessed many young warriors within her tribe falling in love with one another. Though, she has yet to find a man worthy for her love and status of responsibility in her tribe or beyond.
"The ceremonial betrothal gift must be exchange six moon cycles from the first announcement of a couples... Well..." Fishlegs began nervously.
"Betrothal," Astrid finished.
"Yes! Oh look at me I'm a wreck. You think I'm the one forty-eight hours away from complete disasters but it's you..."
[Astrid quickly covers Fishlegs mouth, but Fishlegs wants his words out and licks Astrid's hand. Astrid yells in disgust before throwing Fishlegs over her shoulders.]
Astrid threw her hand back in disgust, wiping it away on her skirt. "Ew!"
Meatlug turned her away, while the others groaned.
Fishlegs rushed. "Em, Ahhhhhhhhh!"
Astrid out Fishlegs in a defensive lock pulling his arms forward painfully. "What is wrong with you?!"
Snotlout smirked, shaking his head. "Now that is a good question!"
Fishlegs struggled to talked, his voice was strained with effort. "Astrid wait I can help. Okay who knows Hiccup better than I do?!"
Astrid sat firmly. "Me!"
Tuffnut shook his head, putting his hands together. "Sorry, A, but Toothless out ranks you in our one-legged viking over here." He said looking at Toothless who gave Astrid an almost smug look, before licking his paw. The shield-maiden rolled her eyes, but she also couldn't deny either. There must be a ton of things she doesn't know, that only the comfort of a dragon can provide.
"Good point. Then you know what an amazing gift giver he is."
Gobber laughed. "That's a fact. Remember what you made for me last birthday?"
Hiccup smiled. "Yeah, yeah I do. Have you got the chance to use it yet?"
"Not yet, the right situation hasn't came up yet."
Astrid sighed in resignation. "Yes, that's the problem. Hiccup is not an ordinary Viking. He has a Nightfury. He can fly with a suit made out of yak hides. He has a sword that can ignite on command, and he's going to be the next chief of Berk."
Hiccup smirked. "Well, when you put it that way..."
Astrid quickly punched his shoulder. "I dare you..."
Fishlegs looked down in thought. "Wow, when you put it like that you are completely..."
[Hiccup enters interrupting]
Hiccup looked a little guilty intruding. "Hey guys I just got a Tmail from Trader Johann... and it don't sound good."
[The screen shows everyone in the clubhouse with Hiccup explaining.]
Hiccup carried the message in his hand as he explained. "All it says is that he needs our help and to come quickly."
Snotlout jumped in with his own opinion. "And you immediately wrote a big no. No thank you I assume."
"Why would I do that?!" Hiccup asked.
Snotlout continued. "That guy is bad luck Hiccup. The last time we got a Tmail from old TJ we almost got eaten by a island of very angry and very wild dragons."
Hiccup rolled his eyes. "Okay, tell you what Snotlout you can stay here."
Snotlout shook his head. "By myself no thank you. I'm just saying it sucks."
Ruffnut threw her head back. "Ugh, make up your mind, your boring me."
Hiccup went over to Toothless carefully grabbing his satchel. "Hey Astrid can I talk to you for a second."
Astrid panicked, backing away slowly. "Oh... uh better wait on that. Don't want to leave Trader Johann hangin."
[Astrid leaves the clubhouse on Stormfly in a quick rush.]
Hiccup glanced over towards Fishlegs confused. "Uh, what's, what's happening?
Fishlegs shrugged. "Don't ask me she's your betrothal."
Chy smiled. "I don't know why, but I loved how he said that when I first watched it."
[The screen then shows the gang flying. Hiccup keeps trying to catch up to Astrid who keeps flying away.]
Hiccup and Toothless struggled to keep steady as they followed Astrid. "Astrid! Astrid! Uh Astrid will you just keep Stormfly steady for a minute."
Toothless and Stormfly both looked each other with 'done' looks. Vikings were strange.
Astrid tugged on Stormfly's saddle, nervous. "Sorry, she's feisty today, ah must be the excitement to see Trader Johann. She really likes him."
Stormfly squawked in surprise her wings fluffed up straight. The gang also shared surprised looks.
[Stormfly squeaked in surprised and flies faster.]
Hiccup nodded, back was taken back a moment later. "She really-? WHAT?! Since when?! Astrid!"
[Hiccup looks at Fishlegs in confusion, but he just shrugged. It then show the gang walking in the Northern Markets.]
Snotlout looked around the market. "Ugh, didn't this stink hole used to be more crowded."
Tuffnut shrugged carelessly. "Oh yah definitely. We would've been robbed at least three times by now. I miss that charm."
Trader Johann explained the problem. "Everything from glass trinkets to golden chalices vanished, and the Traders gone without a trace."
Hiccup looked around. "You seem to be okay Johann, has anything of yours been taken?"
Trader Johann softly replied. "Master Hiccup leave it to you to find the silver lining in a dark mysterious cloud."
Snotlout crossed his arms, smiling. "Yah maybe they just packed there stuff and left. You didn't tell them any of your boring stories did you Johann?!"
Trader Johann gave Snotlout his answer. "I assure you my tales of adventure and rivalry are preemminant part of any weary travelers day."
The Twins blankly stared, before Ruffnut spoke up. "Uhh?"
Snotlout clapped his hands together. "Case solve! Anyone want to race me to the Edge?"
Fishlegs glanced between Johann and the market coming to his own conclusion. "Uh guys I don't think this is about Johann.
"Okay Fishlegs then what is it about?" Hiccup asked.
Fishlegs waved his hands for affect. "The Curse of Tears."
Chy glanced at the screen. "Okay, this always stumped me. I get we learn things along the way, but since when did you learn about that, Fishlegs?"
Fishlegs tapped his fingers. "Well, this tale was seen as an old wise tale, to keep thieves away from marketers goods, but I never thought it could be real!"
[Tuffnut starts crying uncontrollably.]
Ruffnut patted her brother's shoulder. "Its that word. Makes him open like a water spout. Ever since we were kids."
Hiccup face palmed. "Since when?!"
Ruffnut shrugged. "Since the womb."
Everyone was silent.
Snotlout's eyes lit up. "Oh what word? Tears?!"
Ruffnut glared at the stocky viking. "Ugh! Really?!"
Snotlout looked away bored. "Sorry geelaaweez... tears?!"
Hiccup sighed. "Fishlegs can you explain?"
Fishlegs took Tuffnut's into account. "As I was saying if the curse... op if the curse of you know what is real, and I'm not saying it is. Many traders and valuables have fallen victim to it and vanished. Never to be heard from again."
"Well I like a good mystery as well as anyone, but I promised Hookfang we could roll in some yak dung back home. So you can keep your curse, and you Tears." Snotlout said.
Everyone winced in disgust.
[Tuffnut cries harder than before.]
Hiccup put up his hand. "Hang on we at least need to check this out alright let's split up and look around. Look for any sign of a struggle."
Fishlegs walked over to Astrid. "Astrid you can team up with me. What better place to find a gift for the viking who has everything."
"Funny, at first he had nothing." Chy said.
The air grew awkward, as they stared at her. Chy's eyes widened. "I said that our loud didn't I?" She didn't wait for their response and quickly continued the episode.
Ruffnut slipped in the conversation. "Great idea Fishlegs. Shopping can be so relaxing."
Tuffnut sniffed. "Therapeutic even."
[The screens shows a Merchant showing off his spear to Astrid, Fishlegs and the twins.]
Merchant made a demonstration with the barn spear. "This spear is barbed on the top, so when the head slides into the victim, pulling it out is a different story."
Tuffnut brightened, eagerly leaning against a barrel. "And a story I for one would love to hear. Chapter and verse please."
"Hiccup with a spear really?!" Astrid said.
Hiccup cringed. "That is not a pretty picture."
Astrid chuckled, it really wasn't.
"How about something portable?" Fishlegs asked toward the Merchant.
Merchant looks through his stock, grabbing his next item. "Hmm. Maybe this sax made from a neck bone of a dragon."
Hiccup face palmed.
[Earns glares]
Merchant carefully set the bone down. "Right, I suppose dragon bone is a no no."
Tuffnut huffed walking away. "Not cool."
Merchant made a dash for them, yelling out different gifts hoping for a purchase. "Oh! Oh! I do carry a wide variety of items. Like this decorative dish for example."
[ Astrid nods no]
Merchant lifted a chain. "How about a real working ball and chain?!"
"Are you serious?!" Hiccup asked.
[Tuffnut started laughing]
"Hiccup can take off his leg you really think that's going to hold him!"
Stoick and Gobber laughed loudly in the room.
"Really Tuff!" Glared Hiccup. Tuffnut smirked. "What that's your problem not mine, H."
Merchant slumped in defeat. "Alright, Alright, I was reserving this for my most special customer but..."
Astrid looked down at the unfolded parchment laid before her. "Um... a map, Ohhh. He wants me to give Hiccup a map."
Merchant shook his head. "Oh, but it's so much more than just a map. It is told that who ever can decipher it can find there way to the Treasure of Tears."
Heather hummed, "That's a strange coincidence." She looked at the husky viking sitting next to her, and it seemed like he was about to burst with excitement.
[Tuffnut falls to his knees crying.]
Fishlegs walked up to Astrid. "Curse of Tears, Treasure of Tears. Make sense they would go together."
Ruffnut tightened her fists, annoyed. "For the love of THOR! Have you no soul! Look at this poor man."
[Ruffnut pointing to her crying brother.]
Astrid crossed her arms with a glare. "No and no! Ugh treasure map."
[Scene goes to Hiccup and Snotlout walking around.]
Hiccup walked, speaking his thoughts out loud. "First thing we have to figure out is there really a curse? And if there is where did it start? Who's curse is it? Are you even listening to me? Snotlout where did you get that?"
[ Snotlout held up Hiccup's betrothal gift.]
Gobber leaned over towards his best friend. "Two gold pieces Snotlout loses it."
Stoick smiled, "Three?"
The two men shook hands.
"Your saddlebags. You should be more careful around here. You know what this needs?" Snotlout asked.
Hiccup groaned. "To be out of your grubby hands."
"It needs a chain. Then at least Astrid could wear the stupid thing. Otherwise, it's just an anchor for a very tiny boat. See it looks nice don't it?" He responded.
Hiccup looked thoughtful. "Okay, I have to admit I would've never have thought of that."
Snotlout fist pumped the air. "Snotlout, one, Hiccup, zero."
Hiccup opened his palm. "Would you give me that!"
[Snotlout laughs at him, when a man swoops by grabbing Hiccup's betrothal gift from Snotlout.]
Gobber grinned as Stoick handed him three gold pieces.
"Snotlout I'm going to kill you!" Hiccup and Stoick growled.
"Get in line!" Chy replied, resting against Silverstreak.
"Hey! You wouldn't kill me Chy. I'm too important for you!"
Chy raised an eyebrow, "Where did you hear that?"
Snotlout was shocked before shrinking a little. "I'm guessing you want that back."
[Snotlout and Hiccup run after the culprit. The man was quick, jumping over a tables corner. Hiccup and Snotlout doing the same.]
Snotlout cheered himself on. "Snotlout!"
Berthal tossed the medallion towards another viking. "Catch Amos!"
Hiccup shot up in his chair. "Amos!"
"Woah, him again!" Snotlout groaned, grabbing his helmet.
Hiccup eyes widened. "Amos? Uh look!"
[Series of men take Hiccup's gift confusing Hiccup, Snotlout, and even the dragons.]
Dagur tilted his head, his eyes gleaming. "They got you good didn't they?" Hiccup chose to ignore that.
Hiccup stopped, looking around the market furiously. "Where'd he go?!"
Snotlout grabbed his helmet in frustration, gritting his teeth hard. "I don't know. I lost track who we were chasing. Ugh! I hate being confused."
Hiccup smiled back at Snotlout as he mounted Toothless. "Really?! I'd figure you would be used to that by now."
Snotlout glared. "Heard that! HOOKFANG!"
[Hiccup scanned the island to see where hismother's medallion went. He sees Berthal giving his Betrothal gift to Amos.]
Hiccup pointed to the two vikings, watching the one take off with the gift. "There!"
[Hiccup and Snotlout chase Amos who ran into the forest. The dragons are having trouble maneuvering around trees and branches.]
Snotlout dodged a tree heading straight for with a cocky attitude. "Ugh, Ha!"
[Snotlout gets slapped by a tree and hangs on the tree and screaming for help.]
Snotlout clung to the tree. "Help! THE CURSE OF TEARS IS REAL!" Hiccup straightened in his saddle, rolling his eyes.
[Hiccup and Snotlout chase Amos until all that's left is Amos's footprints.]
"Wait isn't that the same beach as earlier?" Asked Gobber.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Stoick mumbled.
Hiccup dismounted perfectly from the air. Him and Snotlout followed the deep tracks left behind until they stopped abruptly. "Huh, uh the footprints just stop. I mean he couldn't have just disappeared."
Snotlout smirked making a ghost sounds. "Or maybe it's the Curse of Tears. Oooohhhh! Scaryyy."
Hiccup picks up a strange rock and examined it closely. "Never seen anything like this."
Throk glanced towards Mala. "Something's wrong."
Snotlout heard them. "Of course something is wrong, it is every time!"
Snotlout looked at the year shaped rock curiously. "Me neither."
[Suddenly a tail wraps around Snotlout's waist pulling him down into the sand. Snotlout scream catches Hiccup's attention.]
"NO!" Hiccup yelled reaching for Snotlout.
[The dragons hurry to help their riders as Hiccup struggled to find his friend. Hiccup jumps in finally grabbing Snotlout's hand.]
Hiccup looked back. "TOOTHLESS!"
Everyone held their breaths.
[Toothless grabs Hiccup's leg holding tight.]
"Hang on bud!" Hiccup yelled through the sand.
[But Hiccup's metal leg pops off forcing Toothless to resurfaced. Toothless cooed in surprise as he and Hookfang wondering what in Thor's name just happened.]
"Ah!" Hiccup's face flashed in and out of image and the sand continue to pull them under.
Snotlout screamed next him. "Ah! Uh! Ah!"
[Then a dragon pops out of nowhere. Then the screen fades black.]
Fishlegs jumped, "Did you guys see that?!
"Hiccup, what did you get yourself into now?!" Stoick sighed.
Hiccup shook his head. "I don't know, like I usually do half the time." He glanced at Fishlegs. "Any idea what type of dragon it is?"
"Not yet, it happened too quickly, but I doubt this dragon is even documented in the Dragon Eye when we had it, but there's so many different combinations I might've missed it." Fishlegs responded.
"So new dragon, unknown capabilities," Astrid said. "Looks like you have your work cut out for you."
Hiccup gave her a look. "Since when have I not?"
[The scene begins as Hiccup slowly wakes up, a little dazed.]
Hiccup pushed himself up off the ground. "Uh, ugh, where are we?"
Snotlout popped up happiness visible on every part of his face. Pieces of gold, glass, and other merchandise's covered the ground like a buried treasure. "WHO CARES! Look around you! Gold! Silver! Silver! Gold! How I lovely to crest and to HOLD! Ah!"
[Snotlout picks up a bone and throw himself back in terror.]
Snotlout pouted stomping his foot. "Woo! Argh! Aw man! What is with these BONES! There ruining my treasure pleasure."
"Snotlout it's not your treasure! And from the looks of things having it didn't help these guys much. We need to worry less about all this junk, and find a way out of here or all the treasure in the world won't help us. Okay first thing first I need something to replace my leg." Hiccup lectured.
Snotlout grumbled in his seat. "You're a mood killed you know that, Hiccup."
Snotlout tapped his chin, pretending to think hard. "Oh a leg you say. I have just the thing."
[Snotlout pushes Hiccup hard grabbing a bone.]
"Snotlout what are you doing?!" Astrid glared, hitting his helmet hard.
"What does it look like I'm doing! I'm replacing his leg! I'm helping him." Snotlout replied.
Hiccup sat in shock. "Snotlout! What are you...?! Ugh, ah, argh!"
Snotlout looked up annoyed. "Shush you! There!"
[Hiccup raises his leg showing a foot bone as his temporary leg.]
Snotlout pointed to the skeleton behind him. "Trust me he won't miss it. Thank you dead body."
Everyone sent Snotlout strange looks.
[Hiccup tries his new leg, seeing it holding in place.]
Hiccup tries his new leg making sure it holds in place for walking. "Huh, I guess I could live with that. Now we need a plan before that sand thing comes back, this stuff is everywhere."
[Hiccup examining what looks like hardened glass. Snotlout pointed at the roof seeing the same blue glass covering their way out.]
Snotlout pointed to the ground above them. "Ha, no kidding! Look!"
Mala frowned. "Amazing, the structure is still holding on."
"I bet it has something to do with the glass covering," Hiccup said. "It looks pretty thick."
[The Scene transfer to Astrid, Fishlegs, and the twins still shopping. The twins trying to help... making Fishlegs their model.]
Tuffnut smiled holding a golden bludgeon wit h a blue silk cloth wrapped around his neck. "And woola! You my good fellow are a model of a modern viking gentleman."
Heather winced, rubbing her own shoulder plates. "At least the shoulder plates looks good." Fishlegs blushed quietly in the room.
Ruffnut stood up her voice changing to fit the situation. "Every viking needs a formal attire. Am I right?! AM I RIGHT?!"
Fishlegs jumped whacking himself in the head by the bludgeon. "Yes!"
Everyone winced while the twins and Snotlout laughed.
Tuffnut: "Indubitably." Tuffnut said with full fledged confidence.
[Astrid nods no]
Tuffnut yelled in frustration. "Urgh! Her fashion sense is dreadful."
"Ugh, just dreadful." His sister agreed.
Tuffnut tossed his scarf back around his neck. "Scarfexit."
Chy smiled. "That has to be the best Tuffnut moment ever created!"
Ruffnut walked away from Astrid. "Our time is wasting."
Astrid sighed looking toward her friend. "Listen, I think we need to face the facts Fishlegs. There's nothing I can give Hiccup Haddock that he doesn't have, doesn't want or doesn't need. I'm useless."
"Awkward!"
Hiccup smiled. "You're everything but useless, milady." It was true, even when they were kids Astrid was known for the best, by the best. It was something he could always count on.
Astrid smiled softly, a little embarrassed, but her heart warmed. "Thank you, you're a great boyfriend."
[Toothless and Hookfang landed next to Astrid and Fishlegs in distress roaring and waving their wings frantically.]
Fishlegs hurried over trying to calm the Monstrous nightmare. "What is it?! What's going on boy?!"
Astrid cradled Toothless's head. "Ugh! It's Hiccup! I knew it! Something must have happened to him and Snotlout!"
[The clip switches over to Hiccup and Snotlout climbing a wall. Snotlout missteps and fall dragging Hiccup with him.]
Hiccup landed hard on the ground. "Ow!"
Snotlout landed on glass, the substance shattering at the weight. "Owwwwwwww! If you break this stuff it's really sharp. Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!" Plucking a shard our of his thumb.
Tuffnut smirked. "Okay, now that has got to hurt."
Hiccup dusted himself off. "Then don't break it."
Snotlout looked a little touched. "A little late for that, but thank you."
[In the distance Hiccup and Snotlout hear rumbling and deep stomping.]
Snotlout hid behind Hiccup. "Oh no it's back! It's going to turns us to old dusty bones!"
Hiccup brushed him off grabbing a couple of crossbow tossing one to Snotlout. "Oh would you stop whining and get ready to shoot."
Mala frowned. "You're not really going to shot that dragon are you, Hiccup."
Hiccup gave her a comforted smile. "No, I'll probably use it to scare it off. There's no way I'll shoot it."
[They both walk slowly toward the sound source when Amos pops out instead axe ready.]
Hiccup groaned at Amos. "But he's a different story entirely."
Dagur pretended to wipe a tear. "Your growing up so fast Hiccup."
Hiccup hesitated. "Uh... Thank you?"
Snotlout glared at Amos. "YOU!"
Amos glared right back. "YOU!"
Hiccup decided to be the voice of reason. "Put those things down... NOW! If we have any chance of getting out of this place, we all need to work together!"
Snotlout begrudgingly lowered his crossbow. "Urgh!"
Amos slowly lowered his axe as well. "Urgh, together."
Hiccup sees his betrothal gift on Amos's belt and quickly grabbed it. "And I'll take that thank you very much."
[The Scene goes to Astrid, Fishlegs and the twins looking for Hiccup and Snotlout where the dragons last saw them.]
Ruffnut looked under a rock. "HICCUP!"
Hiccup face palmed. "Why is rocks the first thing you check?"
Tuffnut shrugged slowly. "You would be surprised by how much you can find under rocks."
Ruffnut punched her brother grinning. "Yeah, we found our third cousin that way."
Nobody argued.
Astrid grew concerned watching the Night Fury digging into the sand. "What is it Toothless? I don't understand. Where are they?"
"Astrid." Fishlegs whispered.
[Fishlegs holds up Hiccup's leg. Astrid gasps while Tuffnut runs over to Fishlegs taking the leg in joy.]
"Woohoo! I'll take that. Wow! What?! It's mine Hiccup willed it to me." Tuffnut cheered.
"When did you will your leg to Tuffnut?" Stoick asked.
Hiccup groaned. "It was a tough day and it was the only thing to keep him away from the Dragon Eye."
"Understandable." Chy nodded, "I know that feeling. Too often in my opinion."
Tuffnut turned toward Astrid. "He said if anything happened to him the leg was to bequeath to one Tuffnut Laverne Thorston."
[Astrid takes the leg from Tuffnut in anger.]
Hiccup's eyes widened. "Oh no."
Astrid shook the leg in the air. "Oh you want this?! You want it, Oh I'll give it to you."
[Tuff looks around nervously.]
Astrid growled. "Come on say it! Say you want it! Say it! Or should I say it. TEARS!"
[Tuffnut starts crying and covers his ears as he falls to the ground.]
"TEARS! TEARS! TEARS!" Astrid screamed.
Dagur laughed. "That was amazing, if only we could see it again."
Tuffnut dropped to the ground in another wave of tears. "No! No! No! No! Ahhhhhh!"
Ruffnut glared at Astrid rubbing her brother's shoulder. "WHAT'S wrong with you?! It's not his fault Hiccup's gone. Why do you have to be so mean?! Look at him! He's just a baby."
Astrid kneeled close to her friend. "I'm sorry Tuff. I-I don't know what came over me. I think I'm must have..."
Ruffnut slapped Astrid's hand away. "YOU leave him be! Hey what do you say we look at our new map bro? Would that make you feel better?"
"Wait! What map?" Fishlegs asked.
[Ruffnut pulls out a map from her pocket.]
Astrid gestured the map. "You bought that?!"
Ruffnut shrugged her shoulders. "It's not like we had a choice. It's got two words we love beyond well words. Treasure and uh you know."
[Toothless claws at the sand catching Fishlegs attention. Fishlegs grabs tear shape like rocks the Hiccup picked up earlier.]
Fishlegs examined it closer. "Astrid I hate to admit it, but these rocks look a lot like..."
Ruffnut interrupted harshly. "DON'T SAY IT! Ahp!"
[Fishlegs mouths the word 'Tears' and let's a finger stroke his cheek. Tuffnut saw and starts crying... again.]
"Oh come on I didn't even say it!" Fishlegs said sync with the movie.
"Oh come on I didn't even say it!" Fishlegs argued.
Astrid snatched the map out Ruffnut's hand already regretting it. "Well I'm out of ideas. Might as well give this thing a shot."
[The screen shows Hiccup, Snotlout, and Amos looking around crates and jewels.]
Hiccup sighed, looking at the treasure hiding a way out. "Ugh nothing but dead ends. I don't think we're getting out of here anytime soon."
Snotlout pouted, grunting. "Great I'm finally rich and I don't even get to enjoy my vast fortune. Thanks to Amos the Lamest over here."
Amos shipped towards Snotlout. "If you haven't chased me we wouldn't be down here in the first place."
Stoick growled. "Now, just a minute..."
"What! If you hadn't stolen from me we wouldn't have to chase you!" Hiccup yelled back.
Amos turned his head away, crossing his arms. "Well I guess we can call it even."
Hiccup threw his fists down. "No we can't that's not even kinda of even."
"You three sound like me and my sister." Laughed Chy. "But I'm Amos though... sadly."
Snotlout hesitated, pointing at the source. "Guys you might want to save this discussion for later."
[A dragon appears but doesn't yet see Hiccup and the others.]
Hiccup kept his voice quiet. "Okay nobody..." Hiccup said quietly. "Amos no!"
[Amos runs away in fear immediately catching the dragon's attention. The dragon roared in anger and fires directly at Amos who stood in shock, but at the last second Hiccup pushes him out of the way. The fire blast that was aimed at Amos is reflected toward Snotlout, who grabs a shield and the blast hardened around the shield instantly.]
Fishlegs gasped. "IT shoots glass?! And I have nothing to chart this discovery down."
Chy petted her dragon. "I can give you pencil and paper if you would like. Though you have to give me the papers when we're done, don't want to ruin the fabric of your existence now would we?"
"By sheets of paper?" Snotlout asked.
She shook her head. "Nope, it's the information on the paper that could." She walked away for a second coming back with an empty notebook and pencil. She handed them to Fishlegs. "Here you go."
Fishlegs lit up. "Woah, this is how your journals are made? And where's the charcoal?"
"It's called a mechanical pencil just push down the eraser..."
Fishlegs smiled. "Hiccup look."
Hiccup leaned over just enough to glance at it. He gave Chy a strange look. "Springs?"
Chy nodded. "Yeah, and some man created parts to work with the spring. Just don't put too much pressure or the lead will break, but you can replace it by pressing on the eraser again."
"It thinks your trying to steal its treasure. Don't move." Hiccup said.
[The dragon fires straight at Hiccup and Amos.]
Hiccup pushed Amos making a run for it. "Okay now move! Ahh! Oh! Take cover!"
Snotlout was slammed aside by the Sandbuster's tail triggering a loose arrow aimed straight at the ceiling. "Help me!"
[The arrow slices through the glass covering creating a small hole letting the sun beam inside the underground cavern. The sunlight rays hits the dragon, burning its scales upon contact. Hiccup saw this as the dragon dives back into the safety of the sand.]
Snotlout had his crossbow in hand. "Did you guys see that?!"
Hiccup spotted the ceiling's hole. "It's the light. It can't be in direct sunlight."
Amos made his own conclusion. "Maybe that's why he patched the holes in the roof."
Hiccup tapped his chin. "So the only habitats it can survive in is underground systems and caverns."
Fishlegs was writing everything down also noting what he missed when Heather whispered some facts and her own observations.
"Maybe." Hiccup mumbled, the wheels in his mind turning.
Snotlout rolled his eyes. "No thank you, nice going Snotlout. Nothing?!"
Amos glared. "Oh shut up Snotlout."
Everyone chuckled leaving Snotlout to his own embarrassment.
[The screen moves over to Astrid looking at the map with Toothless cooing worried beside her.]
Tuffnut looked at the other, breaking the peace. "Alright, look Astrid we'll give up the..."
"The what!" Astrid snapped.
"You know. T-tuh those we could live without, but the Treasure that's got to be ours. We earned that treasure! I earned that treasure!" Tuffnut spoke.
Snotlout scoffed crossing his arms. "By doing what?! Crying, if that's your standard I would be rich at how poor that was."
Fishlegs raised a finger, but Snotlout spoke up first. "Shut up, Fishlegs."
Astrid out a hand on her hip her facade unchanging. "If this works you can have all the treasure you want, but if it doesn't you know what's coming."
Ruffnut gave a nervous smile, keeping her distance from the woman. "Uh, what do you say we stray from going down that dark road again, Astrid?"
Tuffnut nodded in agreement. "Yeah I'm not sure I have any well you known... left to cry."
[Astrid ignored the twins focusing on the map in her hand.]
Astrid hummed at an even closer inspection then gasps. "Do you see that?! Hiccup!"
Gobber grinned in relief. "Well lads, looks lik' you won't be there long after all." Everyone shared his relief as well.
Hookfang brushed past Fishlegs hard, causing the viking to stumble. "Astrid!"
[The screen goes to Hiccup, Snotlout, and Amos looking around the cavern.]
"Were going to die." Snotlout mumbled in despair.
Hiccup perked up when a distant echoed only produced by a Night Fury made it's way into the cavern. "Shhh! Do you hear that? It came from outside."
Toothless's ears shot up hearing himself on screen. Hiccup rubbed his fingers softly over the warm scales.
Astrid is running hard with Toothless trailing behind her. "Come on boy! If this map is real we need to get there soon."
Hiccup looked straight at Snotlout and Amos. "Alright lift me up. If someone is out there we need to make sure they can see us."
"Wow, this is intense..."
Everyone shushed whoever said it.
[Astrid and Toothless slowed down looking down in a hole.]
"Is he in there?" Fishlegs asked.
"Is anybody out there?!" Snotlout asked quickly.
Hiccup and Astrid both waited with short breaths before looking down. "No!"
"I don't understand they were right there!" Astrid moaned. Toothless whined sharing Astrid's frustration. Hiccup squeezed her hand and rubbed Toothless's head with his other hand.
"I'll be fine, we'll think of something." He reassured her.
Astrid faced the gang defeated. "Looks like were not the only ones who were fooled by this map."
Hiccup looked down at the others. "Looks like we're on our own."
[The screen show Snotlout and Amos searching for anything useful, tossing items left and right while Hiccup stared at the ceiling.]
"You know staring at that thing isn't suddenly help us get out of here." Snotlout said bored.
Hiccup snapped back. "Hey! Got a better idea before that sand busting thing comes back!"
Snotlout smirked. "Sandbuster! That's a good name. I'm just trying to help."
Fishlegs wrote down the name. "That is a fitting name..."
Snotlout internally chanted his name. Snotlout. Snotlout. Oi! Oi!
"Oh you couldn't gotten sucked down with your dragons could you. Could have flown right out of here but no!" Amos complained.
"Why do you even talk?" Snotlout wondered, he seriously needed to know.
"It's how I voice my displeasure, and I'm gonna die with freedom just beyond that hole!" He replied, pointing towards freedom.
Hiccup's eyes widened.
Gobber chuckled. "I know that look."
"The hole?! Yes! That's our way out!" Hiccup realized.
Amos laughed. "Haha! And how do you plan on gettin to it?"
Snotlout sighed. "Yeah I mean the idiot does have a point we can't even reach it."
Hiccup gestures to the tables and chests scattered around them. "Then we'll bring it to us. You two start stacking this junk. Build a tower as high as it will go."
Amos shook his head. "It will never reach, and it will never hold."
Tuffnut huffed. "That's positive motivation, I mean what's that vikings deal?! "
Ruffnut raised an eyebrow. "You make it sound like its bad thing."
"Oh just do it!" Hiccup ordered.
"And what are you going to do!" Snotlout asked.
Hiccup picked up some wooden planks lifting a nail. "Build a cage to trap the Sandbuster when he comes back."
Amos elbowed Snotlout pointed to Hiccup. "I don't know just do what he says. He's always right so there's really no point."
Stoick and Gobber laughed at the honesty in that statement.
Hiccup: "What's was that Snotlout?!" Hiccup called back.
Snotlout recovered. "Your like a ray of sunlight, lighting my way, super shining," Before he dropped the act. "Never mind."
Hiccup decided to ignore that comment. "Yeah, yeah, uh huh."
Everyone laughed at the exchange. It's a nice change of atmosphere since the episode started.
[The screen shows Astrid sitting on the edge of a cliff overlooking the map trying to find a clue or something that she missed. Fishlegs walks over to her.]
Fishlegs walks over to her. "He's out their Astrid. Somewhere and we're going to find him. Meatlug and I won't stop looking until we do, right girl?!"
[Meatlug growls in agreement. Behind her Tuffnut is crying while Ruffnut is trying to help him.]
Ruffnut is about ready to give up. "Bro it's like tear its spelled the same way TEAR, tear, Alright okay!"
She punched her brother's shoulder. "See what you're putting me through!"
Her brother gave her a look. "And... that's supposed to stop me?"
Ruffnut curled her fists. "Why you...!" The Twins became a mess of limbs, tangled around as they fought.
Toothless rolled his eyes looking back at the screen.
Astrid stared harder at the map. "Wait a minute, Fishlegs what do you see here?"
"A good reason to throw the twins into some volcano." He replied.
Astrid shook her head. "No, look this helmet in the corner looks just like that mountain peak right there."
Fishlegs doesn't see it. "Astrid I know t-that you want this..."
Astrid lined the map. "And these axes right here they line up to. These are all landmarks all around us."
Hiccup caught on. "I think your on to something, Astrid."
"When you line up the map look what happens! Come on guys let's go get Hiccup."
Tuffnut threw his fists in the air. "A, you got it!"
[The scene transfer over to a really bad tower leaning nervously.]
Amos looked at the tower, wondering. "You don't really think this thing is gonna hold?!"
Snotlout waved him off. "As long as we get Hiccup to climb it. It will hold his scrawny butt no problem."
"Snotlout!" Hiccup yelled.
"I thought you said you were building a cage?!" Snotlout asked.
Hiccup pulled a rope tying it around some sturdy crates. "Yes Snotlout I did."
Snotlout did not have time for one of Hiccup's riddle, their lives are on the line. "Okay don't take this the wrong way, but don't cages usually have oh I don't know locks, bars, walls!"
Hiccup took a few steps back surveying his quick work. "Trust me this is going to work. Now legs get up that tower. Did you make sure it was sturdy?"
Gobber started to chuckle. "Using a bit of Dragon 101 are we?"
Hiccup smiled, leaning back further in his seat, crossing his arms. "I have no idea what your talking about, Gobber."
Amos hurried to point at Snotlout. "Snotlout said..."
Snotlout pulled Amos's arm back down, glaring. "It's fine, it's fine, it's fine."
[Hiccup starts climbing and the tower starts creaking and swaying. Hiccup turns to Snotlout giving him a heated glare. Then the Sandbuster bursts out of the sand roaring.]
"SANDBUSTER! SANDBUSTER! Hiccup help!" Snotlout screamed pushing Amos briefly toward the angry dragon.
[Hiccup saw his chance and leaped upon board after board. Each board throwing rocks into the roof and letting sunlight stream in. Creating a sunlight cage around the Sandbuster.]
Mala nodded with approval. "An interesting contraption Hiccup. Well done."
Hiccup rubbed his hand against his neck. "Thank you."
Dagur whooped loudly. "That was awesome! Pretty talented for a one legged, brother."
Hiccup landed with a smile. "See cage."
"You wasn't lying he is always right!" Amos praised over to Snotlout who was half way up the tower.
Snotlout growled. "Shut up Amos."
Hiccup began his climb. "And now our exit."
[The Sandbuster fires the roof revealing the holes coating them. After the Dragon knew it was safe he went after Hiccup, Snotlout, and Amos making the tower crumble.]
Everyone waited baited breath, worried. Mostly for Hiccup.
Hiccup reached toward the hole, knowing he wasn't going to make it. "No! No!"
Hey don't you touch that! It is a gift!"
[Hiccup landed hard, the force sending his gift flying. Hiccup eyes his betrothal gift that fell from his belt and layed under the dragon.]
"Hey! Don't you touch that it is a gift."
"Oh yah I'm sure he really cares about that." Snotlout argued.
[The dragon roars, and the others scramble back. Snotlout spots a sword from a crate.]
Snotlout lifted the sword smiling, before he fell from the weight of it. "Snotlout! Gotcha! Hiccup!"
The Twins busted out laughing holding their stomachs. "Ah, somebody wants his hero!"
Hiccup cringed while Snotlout growled. "DO NOT!"
[Hiccup spots one ray of sunlight and looks at his gift discarded on the ground nearby. Hiccup runs and slides under the dragon landing right by the sunlight.]
Throk can safely say he is impressed with Hiccup's skills. Stoick surely is.
Astrid leaned close to Hiccup. "Guess those lessons are paying off, huh?"
Hiccup smiled. "I guess they are."
Snotlout sat shocked. "Hiccup what are you...?!"
Hiccup timed it perfectly. "Yes!"
[With the gift in his hands. Hiccup reflects the light from the coin to the dragon. The dragons roars in pain when hit.]
Snotlout stood up with the sword before falling again. "What are you doing? Nice job!"
Hiccup kept his focus on the dragon, trying to keep up with it. "You guys run I'll keep it busy."
"Right sounds good to me." Amos said.
Snotlout grabbed Amos's ear. "Stand down Amos the Lamest we're not going anywhere without that guy. Got it!"
Dagur smiled. "Someone is getting feisty!"
Amos didn't want to die. "Then we're all going to die where we stand!"
[Then The roof exploded sending glass everywhere. Toothless came forth with Astrid riding on his back.]
"Now that is a girlfriend right there!" Chy said. "Toothless looking good, pal."
Toothless puffed up his chest.
Astrid yelled signaling a plasma blast that Toothless was happy to provide. "Ahhh!"
Now it was Hiccup's turn to lean towards Astrid. "Guess my lessons paid off as well, Milady."
"Yes they did Dragon Trainer."
Fishlegs was quick to provide support. "Gotcha!"
Hiccup smiled at his companions. "You were saying. Woohoo!"
[Hiccup jumps as Astrid fits towards him catching him. Now rescued, Hiccup and Astrid are back at the Northern Market with Trader Johann.]
"I must say Master Hiccup, you and your team always seem to right the wrong in this mad, mad world. With the ferocious Sandbuster Beach closed to incoming traffic the flow of comer can once again commence. And speaking of comers Master Snotlout I've been admiring your bejeweled weapon. Simply dazzling." Johann admired.
Snotlout raised an eyebrow. "Does anyone know how and why Johann speaks like that?"
Mala smiled, her hands relaxing in her lap. "Traders from various location speak of folklore like Johann such as himself, because voyages are long and tiresome, Snotlout. A coping mechanism as you will."
Snotlout blinked.
"You asked Snotlout," Astrid said.
Snotlout waved him off. "Save it Johann. It's not for sale."
Ruffnut was doing her best to help her brother. "Just start T just a little T oh! Okay! Okay!
"And with I bid you thank you." Johann departed.
"Here it comes!" Chy yelled. "My favorite part!!!!!"
Hiccup spoke up. "Astrid."
Astrid's eyes widened in panic making an attempt to get away. "Um...I need to check on Stormfly."
Tuffnut frowned. "I thought Astrid was fearless..."
Astrid growled, but Ruffnut beat her to it. Grabbing her own helmet she slammed it on her brother's head.
"OW!"
Hiccup carefully gripped her arm. "No, no you don't."
Astrid sighed in defeat. "I don't."
"No, you need to stand right here and take this in. This was my father betrothal gift to my mother. I'm he gave it to me to give to give to you. Astrid you are a part of our family, you've always have. And I hope you always will be." Hiccup said putting the necklace over her head.
Snotlout cheered. "HA! HE USED MY IDEA..." He looked over at Hiccup. "You used my idea?"
Hiccup smiled. "Why wouldn't I it's a good, thoughtful idea."
Hiccup grew nervously at the lack of reaction. "Uh... okay, well if you don't like it..."
Astrid leaned her head on Hiccup's shoulder. "It's beautiful, Hiccup. Thank you."
"Your welcome," he muttered. Hiccup looked to his left meeting his father's eyes. There was a strange look on his face before it disappeared with a smile.
Stoick didn't realize until it hit him hard. His son. Valka's son was a man and he loves it.
Astrid gave him a soft smile. "Hiccup I-it's beautiful, it's perfect. It's just I didn't get you a gift. I don't know what to get or..."
Hiccup: "But you did. Astrid you gave me the greatest gift in the world. You. You just being here with me, is the only gift I need." He wrapped his arms around her bringing her close.
"YES!!! This is so great! It's better than any of my birthdays!" Chy smiled.
Snotlout started waving the sword around. "Unguard. Hiya. Woulya!"
[Snotlout threw his sword and landed right next to Hiccup and Astrid. Hiccup grabbed Astrid and threw her on the other side.]
"SNOTLOUT!" Everyone screamed.
Stoick clenched his fists. "THAT'S MY FUTURE DAUGHTER-IN-LAW!"
Hiccup: "Hey watch it ahh! Wait a minute!" Hiccup said after the panic settled.
"What is it?!" Astrid asked.
Hiccup took in the sight in front of him: "I thought I recognized it, that sword. That's not just any old sword that's...
Astrid spoke up. "That's Viggo's, but if he's sword is here...?"
His eyes hardened. "Who brought it here?"
Everyone took a few breaths before Fishlegs cleared his throat. "So what happens now?"
Chy grabbed the remote again. "We watch the next episode. Something Rotten on Berserker Island."
Dagur's eyes widened as he looked up. "Wait what?"
