The Soldiers, The Cube, The End.
"Don't move, and let me do the talking," the Doctor whispered to his two companions.
"Hello!" he said in a louder voice to address all the men. "I'm the Doctor, and this is Clara, and Landon. We come in peace, so please lower your weapons."
The men didn't respond, and didn't lower their weapons. Then their ranks parted and a tall man with no gun, who was obviously the leader of the group, walked forward from the back.
"Who in the world are you?" the Captain asked.
"I'm the Doctor and this is Landon and Clara," the Doctor answered.
"What is your name?" the Captain asked the Doctor.
"Just the Doctor."
"I don't believe you."
"I don't care whether or not you believe what my name is, it is important that you barricade that door immediately. Behind that door is something extremely dangerous."
"Why should I believe you?"
Clara walked up to the Captain and said, "If you don't listen to him, you will regret it."
The Captain stared at Clara for a moment and then faced the Doctor.
"I want this Doctor and his friends tied up," the Captain told his soldiers.
"You are making a mistake," the Doctor told the Captain as the soldiers tied them up.
"Until you explain who in the world you are you, you're going to remain tied up."
"I've told you who I am multiple times. Your lives depends on this. Seal that door!"
A soldier removed the sonic screwdriver and psychic paper from the Doctor's pocket.
"Here sir," the soldier said, handing the items to the Captain.
"Ah, psychic paper and...what is this?" said the Captain, examining the screwdriver.
"Listen to me! I'm the Doctor. I'm a time traveller. You are holding a sonic screwdriver. I need to save the world from creatures and you need to seal that door!"
"Go check that room," the Captain told the soldiers.
Multiple soldiers went to the door.
"Do not go near that door!" the Doctor exclaimed.
The soldiers didn't listen. They walked up to the door and opened it.
As they did this, the Doctor continued, "Do not enter that room or you won't come back!"
As the soldiers entered the room, the Captain approached Clara and asked, "Who are you?"
"A friend of the Doctor."
"Your name please."
"I suggest to listen to the Doctor before your soldiers are killed in that room."
"What is your name?!"
"My name is Clara Oswald. The smartest decision you can make right now is listening to the Doctor."
"Get those soldiers out of that room or they'll be dead before you know it," the Doctor said.
A clatter was heard in the room where the soldiers had entered. The Captain turned to look at the door.
"What was that?" the Captain wondered.
"Something bad," the Doctor said.
"Go investigate," the Captain told five other soldiers.
"No, don't!" the Doctor exclaimed.
As the soldiers walked near the door, three Weeping Angels appeared in the room in the front of the open door, with rage on their faces, and touched two of the soldiers, who disappeared.
"Back away, but keep looking at them!" the Doctor told the remaining soldiers.
"I demand you tell me what happened to them!" the Captain said to the Doctor.
"They're dead. And without my help, we'll all be dead as well!"
The Captain turned his attention to the soldiers, who were trying to pass by the angels into the room.
"Do as he tells you," the Captain told the soldiers.
"Keep looking at the angels and get away from that door," the Doctor told the soldiers.
The soldiers slowly backed away from the angels, their eyes fixed on them and their guns ready to fire.
"Doctor," Landon began, "there are two shadows next to one of those angels."
As the Doctor noticed the two shadows behind one the angels, he said, "Back away from the angels, but keep looking at them and don't cross their shadows." The Doctor turned to the Captain, "You need to untie us and give me my screwdriver."
"Why?"
"Because there are more Weeping Angels coming. The only thing holding them back is because our dimension and their dimension are separated, but they won't be for long. They'll overlap anytime now and we probably won't survive an army of angels in this room."
The Captain stared at the Doctor.
"What's the shadow?" the Captain asked.
"It's a swarm. It can devour you within seconds."
Finally, Captain gave the Doctor the screwdriver and psychic paper.
"Untie him," the Captain ordered the remaining three soldiers.
As the soldiers untied them, the Doctor and the Captain had their eyes on the angels.
"Is there another way out of here?" the Doctor asked.
"There was a door in another end of the room but it has been replaced by an empty wall," one of the soldiers answered.
"Where is it? I need to find it."
"Over there," another soldier pointed.
The Doctor walked toward the empty wall the soldier pointed to. He scanned the wall with his screwdriver.
He turned back to the soldier in confusion. "Are you sure there was a door here? There's no dimension to hide it."
"There was a door right there. I opened and closed it, and I walked through the doorway."
"What was in the room on the other side?"
"I.... I don't remember"
"Anybody? Do any of you know what was in that other room?"
The soldiers all shook their heads.
"How is it that there was another entire room over there, you all know it was there, but none of you remember what you used it for?"
"Doctor! Can we worry about their short term memory, AFTER we escape!" Clara shouted.
"No Clara, I can't, don't you see, none of them can remember what is in that room, which means there must be a perception filter on it, which means that might be where the infinity cube is." The Doctor turned his attention back to the wall.
He pulled out his screwdriver and scanned the wall. As he scanned, he turned his attention to the floor under his feet. He took a few steps back, put his screwdriver in his coat pocket, and kneeled to the ground. Lifting a floorboard, a dimensional control panel, smaller in size to the one in the house, was functioning.
"Was it that?" one of the soldiers asked.
"A dimensional control computer, or you could call it a dimensional shifter," the Doctor responded.
"What's it doing?" the Captain asked.
"It's emitting a dimension that can't be overlapped. It would take too long to reverse it. There is another way, but it comes with a risk."
"So tell us Doctor" said Landon
"Well I could just smash the thing and that would allow us to get through the door, but there is a slight possibility that it could cause this entire virtual world to collapse killing us in the process" the Doctor explained
"How small of a possibility?" asked Clara with an uneasy tone.
"About 75% chance"
"That's not a small possibility!" Clara shouted
"Well than I guess we'll just have to hope there's an exit sign on the other side of that door" the Doctor said as he grabbed a nearby chair and smashed the control panel. Suddenly the room began shaking like there was an earthquake. A door appeared in front of them and everyone filed through as fast as possible and shut the door behind them. While the soldiers barricaded the door, the Doctor ran to a table in the center of the shaking room. The cube was sitting neatly on the center of the table. The doctor pulled out his sonic screwdriver and scanned the table and the cube to make sure it was safe, then he snatched the cube off the table and turned towards the others.
"Alright everyone, I've got the cube, now all we have to do is get out of here before the whole place collapses, so everyone search for a way out"
"You mean like the giant exit sign thats right behind you?" said Landon, pointing. The Doctor turned around to see a flashing green sign with the word EXIT on it.
"Yes, exactly like that. Now let's go!" the Doctor exclaimed, the soldiers ran toward the exit sign followed closely by Landon, than Clara, and the Doctor. The exit sign turned out to be pointing down a long hallway with a door at the end. Everyone was sprinting down the hallway at top speed as the building began to shake more violently. As the shaking increased, Clara watched as the soldiers and Landon seemed to disappear in front of her eyes.
"Doctor, where did they go!" clara asked without stopping.
"They must have been part of the virtual world, and they collapsed along with it" the Doctor theorized. They kept running, finally reaching the end of the hall, and bolted through the door just as the walls of the building began to flicker out of existence.
Now safe outside the building, the Doctor and Clara found themselves standing outside the leaning tower of Pisa.
"What kind of pudding brain, puts a virtual reality inside the leaning tower of Pisa?" the doctor asked as he looked up at the tower.
"That would be me" the Doctor and Clara spun around to see a tall man with a long black coat and an eye patch. "Sorry about that, but we wanted to see you in action" the man said mysteriously.
"And who are you?" the Doctor questioned.
"My name is Nick Fury, and I'm here to talk to you about the avengers initiative"
