Richmond April 2nd-3rd

So next on the racing list is Richmond.  The first official short track race of the year and it could be a spot for an organization to turn their season around and gain momentum.

First is the Xfinity Series ToyotaCare 250

John Hunter Nemecheck
The Truck regular for Kyle Busch Motorsports shall drive for Kyle Busch's boss Joe Gibbs in the Xfinity series 18 which will serve as an all star/ part time ride. Nemecheck's sole purpose is to win just like he did a season ago in the Trucks against Busch. Plus to gain some confidence to rub off on his Truck series campaign as he sits 8th in that series.

Ty Gibbs
How about getting his 2nd consecutive pole position. While being an early championship favorite the stats speak for themselves and he's still so young meaning he can only get better so a place like Richmond can only be a learning experience for Ty Gibbs

Brandon Jones
The 19 is currently 7th in the Xfinity standings right now and Richmond is literally JGR's best racetrack and with teammates like he has in both Xfinity and Cup who knows, Jones might get his first win of the season and his first win since Darlington 2020.

Toyota Owners 400

Favorites

JGR as a whole. This is the organization's best racetrack and another thing that helps is when all the drivers are fast on short tracks.

Christopher Bell: Bell won 3 Xfinity races and with experienced teammates  is a very powerful combo that can lead to Bell adding to the win total for Gibbs in the Cup ranks. Bell is the lowest ranking Gibbs Toyota currently 23rd in points, this young gun still has the talent behind the wheel and with the way the youth movement has been maybe he can master the "Action Track" and win the race.

Denny Hamlin: Hometown advantage, plus Denny is known for long after his tires and is a 3 time winner. To add more facts is that last year Hamiln dominated both races last year leading a total of 402 of 800 laps ran in them. 202 of those were in this race. After a rough start the 11 is seeking to make some noise to get his season on track.

Kyle Busch: Some of Kyle's best tracks are short tracks. He won at Bristol 8 times and has won at Richmond 6 times including winning the spring race for 4 years in a row. He could've won 7 possibly but in the fall race last year after making his last stop he was speeding on pit road. Plus after missing out on the win at home in Vegas frustration has been building, but while for most frustration leads down a dark trail and makes things worse Kyle Busch has a way of just getting his anger out of his system and just does brilliant. A first Richmond victory since 2018 will really feel rich for the 18 as far as momentum goes.

Martin Truex Jr: Richmond was the place where Truex in his 1st season at JGR was able to breakthrough and claim his first short track win. Leading lots of laps are normal now for Truex, in this race one season ago he and Hamlin had the best cars dueling back and forth for most of the race until a speeding penalty derailed his chances. Toyota have been shut out of victory lane so far this year and MTJ knows that feeling all too well from his career. He'd love to bust that door down with a win this Sunday.

Dark horse

Alex Bowman: He says he drives short tracks wrong but still was able to win this race last year. Now with this new car might play into his favor perhaps 🤔.

Who do you think will win out?
