61: I've been tagged! :O

So my friend a-dora-ble tagged me to answer a few questions, and so I decided to answer them 'cause I like procrastinating on updating the collection of updates for The Wattpad News. XD

1. What is your real name or do you have a pen name you go by and why?

I have a real name (like who doesn't?), but I sure as heck ain't going to share it freely on the internet for creepsters to take notes. So my pen name is Felicity Annora- and I chose the name because the name Felicity means joy and I've always been told that I was a joyful kid growing up, and I chose the last name Annora because it reminded me of the french word amour, which means love... even though the actual definition of Annora is honor. :P (I think I've elaborated on this before..?)

2. How old were you when you started writing? Is there some kind of story behind it?

I was always writing in some way when I was growing up, and I was always good at it. Short stories were one of my favorite assignments that I looked forward to in English. Then I realized that my short stories don't always have to be for english assignments and that I could write about anything I wanted, so I ran with it. When I was about 11 or 12 years old, I began to write my first full-length novel about a blind teen that was an investigator (or basically a blind Nancy Drew for anybody familiar with the name). I never finished writing my first story, but it brought me to the place where I am now- and it's heck of a whole lot better than where I was before.

3. How did you choose the genre you write in?

I currently find myself writing sci-fi, which is even surprizing me. Growing up, I always thought that sci-fi had to include interglactic starship battles which completely turned me off (and still kinda does to this day- needless to say, I am not a Star-Wars fan). But I found out that sci-fi encompasses so much more than that and I really like the idea of dealing with techy gadgets, so I am writing sci-fi at the moment. I am not going to post the story on Wattpad right now because of reasons that I will explain below.

4. Do you experience writer's block? If so, how long and what do you do to get rid of it?

I wouldn't believe you if you told me that you didn't  experience writer's block at one point or another. But anyway, writer's block is almost always blocking me nowadays and I always seem to be lacking the proper equipment to destroy it. It's like trying to bring down the Berlin Wall with a freaking hand chisel. Like can someone tell me where the creative sledge hammers and wrecking ball is? Because what I have at the moment isn't working.

But what I do to get rid of writer's block is that I re-write a small chunk of the text right before I have the writer's block, but sometimes what I edit can completely alter the course of events in my story- so I have to go back and change everything in order to fit with the re-write. That's why I don't post any of my full length novels yet. They aren't even close to being finished, and I usually have to edit everything like crazy.

5. What pieces of writing are you currently working on?

My sci-fi book called The Undecided.  I'm literally just trying to world build at the moment because my beta reader spotted way too many plotholes that were critical to the plotline, so I decided (pun unintended) to basically scrap the first rough draft and re-write it again.

I'm also working on my series of short stories in The Destiny Of The Danelion Seeds, but I can't find the motivation to keep continuing at present day. If you bombard it with votes and comments I might be able to. *wink*

6. How did you come up with the titles of your books?

Naming things comes naturally to me without even needing to think. I guess it's just my writer's instinct that I was born with.

7. Which characters would you say are most like you and which one is the least like you?

Graham Gilmore is the most like me in my opinion. He's sweet and likes to cheer people up, while the character most unlike me would be Ivy Clapton. She's firey and doesn't take any crap whatsoever- she's not touchy-feely at all.

8. What was your favorite chapter ever written?

I couldn't say that I've ever really had a favorite chapter that I've ever written because without one chapter, the other wouldn't be complete or would have come to pass. So I guess it keeps changing to the next new chaper I write.

9. What was the toughest criticism you've ever received and what was your greatest accomplishment?

My toughest criticism was from one of my recent friends from NaNoWriMo that also doubled as my beta reader. Like I had said earlier, she pointed out plotholes while I had to sit there and take it like an adult as I was cringing in my seat. It was difficult because I had sunk so much time into my rough draft and it felt like someone was attacking my child, but I know that it was for the best and I knew that she ultimately wanted to see me grow into a better writer. So I sucked it up, put my big girl pants on, and cried as I wrote, "Okay, I'll work on that."

As for my greatest accomplishment, I still get warm thoughts when I think back to the only time I finished a rough draft that was for my second story that I had written about a mermaid. Don't get your hopes up- I'm not posting that crap on Wattpad. XD

10. Is there anything you'd like to say to your readers and fans?

Wait... I have readers and fans? xD Well, I gotta say thank you for all your support and love. It's been fun watching all the views rack up as I see people getting a kick out of my random thoughts and spurts of stupidness. And thanks for tagging me, a-dora-ble! This was enjoyable to write. :P
