12 - They Really Should Talk About This

Sam woke before Gabriel. He looked down at him with a soft smile, at the way Gabe had curled up and his peaceful expression.

He almost opened his mouth to say hello to wake up Gabriel before stopping himself. Instead he nudged Gabe gently.

"Morning," Gabe mumbled sleepily. Sam smiled and pressed a kiss to Gabe's forehead. Gabe just smiled before leaning up for a proper kiss.

"You guys are adorable," Charlie said from where she was standing in the doorway, her phone up.

"Charlie what..."

"I slept here remember? Too lazy to go all the way home."

Gabe just bitch faced her before burying his head against Sam's chest. Sam chuckled lightly before getting an evil glint in his eyes and pushing Gabe off the bed. Gabe made a yelping noise as he fell, pulling the blankets with him and ending up in a tangled mess on the floor. Sam and Charlie were both just laughing and Gabe pouted at Sam.

"You cruel person," Gabe said.

"I may be on the side of the angels, but don't think for a second that I am one of them," Sam said with a smirk.

"Sherlock why?" Gabe whined, before flopping onto his back on the floor. "What time is it?"

"10am," Charlie said.

"What day?"

"Monday."

Sam's eyes went wide and he jumped up, signing something quickly to Charlie before running out of the room.

"He has classes," Charlie said to Gabe who was watching with confusion and a bit of guilt.

"Oh right," Gabe said, the guilt turning into sadness for a second. "And we have work."

"Yep," Charlie said. "So get up you lazy bitch." Then she too left the room. Gabe just glared after her for a second before getting up.

He got dressed quickly and walked out to find Sam having now collected all his things and looked like he was waiting.

"Text me later?" Gabe said and Sam nodded with a smile, stepping over to kiss Gabe softly. He lingered there slightly and when he pulled away didn't turn to leave. "You have classes," Gabe said teasingly.

Sam rolled his eyes. "I'm burning up a sun just to say goodbye."

"Oh come on with the feels," Gabe said. Sam just laughed before walking over to Gabe's apartment door. He turned to wave and then left, leaving Gabe with a fangirling Charlie.

"Adorable," she said. "Now make me pancakes peasant."

Gabe rolled his eyes. "Make them yourself."

"I won't make you any."

"Fine."

Charlie fist pumped in victory.

Kevin was just watching as Sam ran back into his dorm room. "Classes literally start in five minutes."

I was at Gabe's, Sam signed.

"Weren't you all?"

I'm sorry we forgot to invite you.

Kevin just glared. "Has Gabriel learnt sign language yet?"

No, but it's not a problem, Sam signed, shrugging. Kevin just sighed.

"Really? Are you really just going to accept that you'll never be able to have a proper conversation with him?"

Sam flinched. Well I can have a conversation over text.

"That's not healthy," Kevin muttered. Sam just glared at him.

Why does it matter?

"I was just making an observation," Kevin said. "Forget it." Sam did.

A few more weeks passed, in which Sam and Gabe ended up spending almost any spare time they had with each other. Their friends had just accepted that they wouldn't see one without the other, and Dean appeared to have warmed up to Gabriel.

Oh and let's just take a look at what happened with Destiel shall we?

Dean had texted Cas almost the moment he woke up the next day and got a reply seconds later as if Cas had been waiting. They talked for a bit before they got around to organizing a meeting.

They were being cliché and getting coffee because—wait they just did that in A Winter Storm, wow I'm not very creative am I?

Well...they can get coffee anyway.

"Hey Cas," Dean said when he saw Cas.

"Hello Dean," Cas said with a shy smile.

They talked for a while as they got and drank their coffees or fancy drinks or whatever, and got to know each other a bit better.

"So," Dean said. "We literally got set up by our brothers."

"Do you think it's weird that we got set up by your younger brother and my older brother, yet those two are together?" Cas asked.

"Nah," Dean said. "Well...maybe. But ages don't really matter around here. I don't really care if we have an age difference."

"Just don't think of it in the way that I'm the same age as your younger brother," Cas said with a teasing smile.

"Oh god no don't say it like that," Dean said. "Please no. That just makes it sound so wrong." Cas just laughed.

And so on. Their day went pretty well I'd say. Dean managed to get a kiss out of Cas by the end of their date but nothing more than that happened. Because relationships seem to move slowly in this book.

Okay but continuing on, I did say a few weeks had passed. In that time Dean and Cas definitely got closer and wait this is a Sabriel story.

Okay. Getting back to Sabriel.

Sam walked into the fandom shop while Gabe was still working one day. He did that a lot now. Gabe was talking to a customer and his eyes lit up when he saw him. Sam smiled and waved, before walking over to Charlie.

"I feel like that girl is hitting on him," Charlie said, glaring at the girl Gabe was talking to.

But rainbow, was all Sam signed and Charlie just started laughing. Gabe glanced over at them curiously. He was beginning to look kind of awkwardly at the girl who was now just downright flirting with him.

Sam walked over to them and slid his arm around Gabe's waist. Gabe smiled up at him.

"Heya Sammy," Gabe said. The girl just gave them a wide eyed look.

"Oh I'm so sorry," she said to Gabe. "But I will say, you two are adorable. Sorry again." She ran off quickly.

"And that's the great thing about the fandom shop," Charlie said. "The customers will ship you."

Sam chuckled lightly, and leaned down to kiss Gabe softly. Gabe smiled into the kiss as he had to stand on his toes for a better angle.

"As much as you two are adorable," Charlie said. "Gabe you're working and I ain't doing your work for you."

"Fine," Gabe said, pouting.

Aw but Charlie, Sam signed with puppy dog eyes.

"No Sam," Charlie said. "The puppy dog eyes don't work on me."

But they work on everyone.

"Except me."

You say that now...

"Oh don't you dare." Charlie turned away before she could be hit with the full effect of puppy dog eyes.

Gabe was just looking between the two of them, and Sam noticed the pained look in his eyes. He put his hands on Gabe's shoulders and turned him to face him, looking at him with a questioning look.

"It's nothing," Gabe said. Sam glared. "Really Sam, leave it." Sam did, but only for the reason that Gabe had just used his actual name instead of a nickname, so he must be serious.

Charlie had just watched that exchange, and turned to glare slightly at Gabriel. Gabe shook his head at her, and Sam turned to question Charlie.

Do you know what's up with him? he signed.

"Sam." Gabe said. "I said leave it."

"Oh come on Gabe, how could you possibly know what he just said?" Charlie said in a sharp tone. Gabe flinched and the pained look came back. Sam was just confused by this point.

Eventually Gabe and Charlie finished their shift, and they both left with Sam to go back to his and Kevin's dorm room. They did that quite often.

Kevin was searching through Netlfix when they arrived, Sam walking with his arm around Gabe's shoulders.

"So they've added a bunch of shows," Kevin said. "What shall we watch?"

"Everything," Charlie said, stealing the couch. Sam walked over to his bed and sat there, pulling Gabe down with him. Gabe stumbled slightly and ended up falling onto Sam.

Sam chuckled and accidentally signed his response to that. Looks like you fell for me.

"That would've been adorable if Gabe could understand," Charlie said. "Gabe, he said it looks like you fell for him."

"You dork," Gabe said with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. Sam noticed this and gave him a questioning look. Gabe didn't reply.

They ended up watching Arrow because why not. (I'm a season behind on Arrow...)

"Okay," Charlie said. "I'm hungry, Sam and Gabe, go on a food run."

"Why us?" Gabe whined from where he was very comfortably curled up against Sam.

"Because you'll get all the sweet things," Charlie said. "And Sam will go with you either way."

If I go you won't get sweet things though, Sam signed.

"You can't resist Gabriel's puppy dog eyes," Charlie said. "You taught him too well."

I'm the puppy dog eyes master. I can resist his.

"You won't be saying that when he's asking you to buy him stuff," Charlie said.

Gabe just sighed slightly, enough that only Sam noticed. Sam nudged him slightly.

"Okay let's go," Gabe said, grabbing Sam's hand and pulling him up. "What do you guys want?"

"Pizza," Charlie said. "And snacks for the rest of the night. Because we're just going to watch things all night."

"We have classes tomorrow," Kevin muttered.

"No one cares," Charlie said. "Now go peasants."

"Yes my queen," Gabe said, bowing over dramatically and walked out of the room with Sam laughing behind him.

As they walked down to whatever shops were closest, Sam pulled out his phone and typed something to Gabe.

Please stop being annoyed about the sign language thing.

"You're asking the impossible Sammy," Gabe muttered. "It's not fair on you."

I don't care.

"But I do. Can we just not talk about this right now?"

Sam frowned but nodded. And so the topic was dropped. And Gabe wasn't any happier about it.

~~

Yeah so...Gabe does seem to be the type to act before really talking things through, doesn't he? I was just thinking about ways I could make it worse though, and I'm not going to do that :P Speaking about future chapters here.

Anyway, this chapter was late, I have another late chapter for another story, and one I have to update today...one down, two to go, it's my goal to write all three before I go to sleep xD

I have school in two days...sigh. I don't wanna go.
