(Y/n)’s POV
Age 4
I kicked my feet happily, giggling as the swing brought me up.. Then down.. Then up. “(Y/n) sweetheart.” Turning my head to my mom, I gave her a grin.
“Yes, mama?” She gave me a soft smile, pulling on the swing chain, causing it to lurch to a stop. I stared at her with wonder filled eyes as she picked me up, giving me a hug and a peck to the head.
“I love you..” She whispered, I locked my arms around her neck, nuzzling her.
“I love you too mama!” I yelled happily, giving her a kiss on her cheek, giggling.
“Yeah, I know you do, baby girl.. Mama and daddy will be back soon, okay? We.. Have to run some errands, go… go play with that little boy over there, he seems lonely, don't ya think?” I peered over at the boy, digging into the dirt with a stick.
“Yeah he does!!! Don’t be gone too long mama!” She nodded, giving me another kiss on my forehead, holding it for a few seconds. As she sat me down, I failed to notice the tears that seeped down her cheeks as she patted me towards the male. “Bye mama!! See you!” I ran towards the boy, happy at the possibility of making a new friend. The freckled, green haired boy jumped some when he heard me running over. “Hi!!!” His bright green eyes widened as he stood and held out a hand.
“H-Hi! I'm Izuku Midoriya.. What's your name?” I grinned excitedly, taking his hand.
“Hi Midoriya!! I’m (Y/n) (L/n)! It's nice to meet you!” I giggled, sitting down. He followed, digging a finger into the dirt beneath us.
“Y-yeah! It's nice to meet you, (L/n).” He whispered. I tilted my head and poked his arm lightly, the action making his head snap up towards me.
“Do you have a quirk?” I asked, my eyes shining. The quiet Midoriya shook his head timidly and I bounced in my seat. “I don't either!!! Wanna play heros? My mommy let me bring my action figures with me!” I stood up and ran over to the swings to find the plastic items. Bringing them back to the boy his eyes lit up.
“All Might??” I handed Midoriya the action figure happily to answer his question, lifting the other figure of the unknown hero, throwing my hand violently towards the sky in a flying motion.
“I can smell crime!” I yelled, jumping up and running around. I heard giggling and looked back to see my new friend following me, causing me to let out giggles of my own.
~skips an hour or twos~
“Izuku? Izuku?! Oh there you are!!!” I sat back to back with the boy, panting violently from the running around, pulling my head up to see a green haired lady run our way. I felt Izuku jump from behind me and run towards the woman, his energy refilling.
“Meet my new friend! Meet my new friend!!” I stood up timidly, as he wielded the stranger closer.
“Oh my, hello honey! Where are your parents? It's getting late!” At her words my head snapped this way and that as I looked at the empty park, then down to the action figures held tightly in my hands.
“They said they had errands to run and they’d be back..” I trailed off, peeking up as she had already snagged Izuku and held him on her hip.
“Well, let’s get you home! Come here, do you know where you live?” She knelt down some and I took a small step back.
“No worries! No worries (Y/n)-chan!!!” Izuku fell from his place after fidgeting, taking my hand once up. “This is my mom!!! She’ll help! She’s so nice!!” I gave him a tiny smile as I let him drag me back to her. She picked us both up with some difficulty.
“I’m Inko Midoriya! I’m sorry for scaring you. Now which way is it to your house honey?” I pointed in the direction and she carried us. Once at my front door she sat me down and I opened the door, walking in.
“Thank you..” I whispered, shutting the door. “Mommy! Mommy, daddy! I’m back!!!” I called, running to the kitchen, scratching my head at the empty room, running through the barren house my calls became more frantic. “M-mommy!! D-daddy?” I tripped, falling down the stairs. I curled into a ball as I sobbed from the pain in my arm and leg. Soon my cries died down and I fell asleep at the end of the stairs.
I woke up still on the floor shivering in the dark from my front door being slammed opened. “She’s in here! She’s alive!” I sat up, scooting back from the police officer as he ran in, wincing as my leg hurt still. “I think she’s hurt. I need medics!” He yelled into his walkie on his chest.
“W-where’s mommy?” I cried, trying to push him away, only one arm cooperating. I watched him take a deep breath, picking me up against my protests. A lady had run in and took me from him, and I started letting tears spew from my eyes from my missing parents, pain in my limbs and the blinding red and blue lights that invaded my vision once outside. As I was carried to the ambulance I saw two figures I had only met the day before. “Where’s mommy and daddy!!!?” I screamed, willing my lungs to keep working as I struggled against the people trying to set me up in the van. I cried, watching Inko talking to the cop, holding onto Izuku tightly as he fought against her. “I-Izu-kun!” I sobbed, letting out a screech at a pinch in my arm, slowly fading back into the darkness.
Awakening from my slumber once more, I looked around the bright room, my eyes landing on a lady, tapping a clipboard. “Poor baby..” She sighed, most likely unaware I was awake. “Parents murdered and a broken arm, fractured leg.” I let out a whimpered sob, casting my eyes to the casts that were on my left arm and leg.
“She’s awake!!” I shot my head to the other side to see Inko sitting down, trying to pull Izuku back, the boy overpowered her, jumping on the bed. I cried out at the intense pain and his eyes widened. “Sorry! Sorry!!!” He cried, kissing my arm. I let out sniffles as he curled into my side. My eyes watered with fresh tears as the words the doctor spoke settled in.
“M-mommy?” My voice wavered and I wiped my snotty nose. “D-daddy? Dead?!” I cried out, loud sobs wracked my body as I pushed Izuku off me to sit up and let out the screams of sadness. “They can’t be! They can’t be! They said they were running errands!!!” My voice was running out, and I could feel the pain in my throat from it being so dry as I slowly became dizzy from all the crying hindering the oxygen to my brain. I couldn’t feel Izuku hugging me tightly, unhearing of him telling me it’d be okay. It was only when I was picked up and cradled against someone did I start to calm, the spazzing heart beat of the person causing me to look up. Inko was holding onto me lovingly.
“I’ll do it!” Her voice was loud, a roaring fire behind every word. I sniffled, my eyes drooping, heavy with sadness, heaving with unintentional abandonment. I grabbed Inko’s shirt tightly while she rocked me, slipping into sleep yet again.
“Mommyyyy!” The voice of a boy whined.
“I know Izuku baby, I’m tired too, unlock the door for mommy..” I recognized Inko’s tired yawn as the sound of a door unlocked and I stirred awake, seeing I was cradled into one side of Inko as Izuku was cradled into the other, holding keys in one hand, opening the door with the other. I let out a stuttered sniffle and stiffen as Inko placed a kiss to my head, carrying us in. I heard the door shut and in a matter of seconds I found myself laid on top of Inko, Izuku besides me, both snoring shortly after. I moved closer to Izuku, and sighed as I drifted back to sleep again, unable to cry anymore.
I woke up, yawning and looking around. I was in an unfamiliar room, Izuku clinging onto me, and Inko snoring from under me. I moved from their grasps with an ample amount of trouble. Slipping onto the floor, I took in a sharp breath, collapsing onto my face. The pain in my arm, when my casted hand shot out to try saving me, caused me to let out a whimpered whine.
“Huh?!” I turned my head to see Inko shoot up from the couch, holding Izuku tightly. Her vibrant green eyes squinted in my direction and she gasped, setting the boy on the couch as she ran over to me. I stared at her as she cautiously picked me up and bounced me some, letting out a yawn. “Are you hungry?” She slurred out, clearly in need of more sleep. I started to shake my head no, but my stomach betrayed me letting out a rumble to the mention of food. I looked down shyly, and gave a timid nod. A tired giggle slipped past her lips as she carried me into the kitchen, setting me down on a chair. I silently looked around as Inko hummed some.
“You gave us quite a scare last night. Quite a few people were jumping door to door asking about you.” Inko sat a bowl of cereal in front of me, sitting down across the table. “If no one came to my door, they probably would have never searched your house…” She let out a troubled sigh as I timidly ate on the food, the cereal was sweet, but I was too numb to enjoy it. “Is it true you don't have family on either side? Anyone to take you in?” I bit my lip, my eyes watering. Both parents were only children and my last grandparent had died a few months back. I nodded, hearing the milk splash as my tears dropped into the bowl, but I ate on in respect for the woman who saved me. I stopped eating as the bowl was taken from me. I looked up at her as she scrunched her nose. “Ew salty cereal. Or do you like that? I can get you more instead.” I licked my lips, not wanting to seem ungrateful, I shook my head and she sat the bowl back down and placed a hand on my head. “Sweetheart. How about you live with me and Izuku? He seems to like you and I talked to some people last night, for a few weeks you'll be monitored here if you say yes.. Then we can adopt you! What do you say?” Milk dribbled from my nose at the request, tears streaming down my face. It was becoming all too real. My parents were killed and the lady I met the day before wanted to be my mom.
“Mommy? Mo-” My eyes darted to Izuku as he tiredly wobbled into the room, he wiped the tired from his eyes before running to us. I watched as he climbed his mom and leaned over the table to me. “Hi! Morning!” He yelled excitedly. “So is she my sister now? Is she, is she?” His hyper words startled me and I looked between the bright eyes of Izuku and the loving ones of Inko. My eyes drifted to my hands and I fiddled with them.
“I-I don’t want to replace my mommy…” I sniffled. “Or daddy..”
“Oh no no no!!! Honey, honey! Look here! We don’t want to replace anyone! We’re not here to replace your mommy or daddy. We just want to help, and give you a loving home.” Inko’s frantic voice had me looking back up. “We could never come close to your mommy and daddy, we just want to be a loving family you can turn to. It’s a lot to take in so please sweetheart, think about-”
“O-okay. I-I’ll stay here…” My eyes watered, and I didn’t like how she had stated anything, but I knew I could trust her, and I wanted to.
