Where It Begins
Kyoro woke up in his own bed in confusion.
He threw his upper body upward and looked around.
"What?! There's no way that was a dr— Agh!" He shouted feeling a pain in right hand. He looked down and saw bandages covering the entirety of his right hand and forearm. He lifted up and squeezed his hand and felt less pain than before. "I guess it's just sore. But! That means it wasn't a dream..." Kyoro said before sighing. 'Gaia...' Kyoro called.
"Yes?" Kyoro heard from outside of his head. He looked around before his eyes met with a pair of lime green orbs. Kyoro looked at the person up and down before his face became one of fear.
"Who... are you?" Kyoro asked. "Didn't I just respond to Gaia? Man, you're dumber in person..." Gaia said rubbing her temple. "Wha...? Wait, who the hell are you calling dumb?!" Kyoro yelled standing up on his bed.
"Kyoro?! You're awak—?!" Min Min started entering his room before seeing the two. She stared with a blank face before slowly sliding his door shut and running. Kyoro and Gaia heard muffled shouts and arguing before turning to each other. "Who's dumb now? How'd you think they were going to react?" Kyoro asked with a exasperated expression. "Well, All Might and that Nurse took it better than she did. Izuku was just unconscious." Gaia said giving a shrug. "You— Wha— Just why?!" Kyoro shouted falling back on his bed.
"There's no damn way you brought home a girl—" Ryukei said sliding opening his door and frantically looking around. His eyes landed on Gaia who turned her gaze from Kyoro to him. "Woah! Holy~ shit!" Ryukei shouted before being pulled away by Akane and Elisio. Min Min walked in with Kiriyu and Elisio, who was followed by an angry Ryukei, and Akane. "Hello..." Min Min started.
"Hi there." Gaia greeted with a wave and a bored look. "Care to explain, Kyoro, why there's... her, in your room after the incident at USJ today?" Min Min asked giving a more-than-fake closed-eye smile. "I lack the information to give you a valid response." Kyoro answered. "Don't give us that crap!" Ryukei butt in. "All she asked was who she was, why, and how she's here?!" He added. "I think only you asked how." Kyoro said rolling his eyes. "Gaia, this is your problem." Kyoro said pulling his blanket over himself and looking between the two parties.

After an explanation on how Kyoro received his quirk, and who Gaia is...
"Oh, okay." The residents of the traditional style house responded. "That's not that hard to believe with the existence of quirks already being a factor." Elisio added.
"Wow, great job." Kyoro said to Gaia. "Hm. Well, is that all?" Gaia asked. "Are you stuck with him?" Ryukei asked. "No. I can move freely at all times. I just favor him." Gaia answered with a huff. "You wanna be stuck with m—" Ryukei was cut off by a log erupting under where he stood and hitting his privates. He began squealing before Elisio and Kyoro both saluted, a fanfare sounding in the background.
"Next?" Gaia asked. "Why him? And not in a rude way, just curious." Akane asked. "Personal reasons. I'd rather not disclose them." Gaia answered. "Can I sleep now?" Kyoro asked with a groan. "R-Right, we don't have school til Tuesday. Get some rest." Min Min said before the rest quickly left.
"Sigh." Kyoro said lying down. "Did you really just say sigh?" Gaia asked. "Yup. So what's the plan?" Kyoro asked. "You rest until school starts, and then you get back to learning how to be a hero." Gaia said sarcastically. "For being the mother of all life, you are being awfully bitc—" Kyoro stopped himself feeling a glare. "Good Night." "It's 10am." "Damnit."

Kyoro was back at U.A., in his seat along with the others. His right hand was covered in bandages as he leaned on his left. The class were chatting away as they waited for homeroom to start. Iida ran in and told everyone to seat themselves but he was the only one standing. He sat in his seat with a frustrated face as Ochako consoled him.
"Morning." Mummy Aizawa greeted, his entire body wrapped in bandages.
"Mr.Aizawa, you're back too soon!" The class shouted. "You're too much of a pro!" Kaminari commented. "So you're all right, Mr.Aizawa?" Iida asked extending his hand upward. "Can you really call that "all right"?" Ochako asked.
"My well-being doesn't matter. More importantly, the fight is not yet over." Aizawa announced. "Fight?" Bakugo asked. "Don't tell me..." Izuku trailed off. Kyoro gazed at Aizawa's direction in intrigue.
"The U.A. Sports Festival is drawing near." Aizawa announced. The class erupted into cheers at this revelation. "That's a super normal school event—" Kirishima shouted but was cut off by Kaminari shoving his hand in his face. "Wait, wait!" He said. "Is it okay to have a sports festival so soon after the villains snuck inside?" Jiro asked. "What if they attack us again or something...?" Ojiro added.
"Apparently, they think of it as U.A. showing that our crisis management system is solid as a rock by holding the event. Security will also be strengthened to five times that of previous years. Above all, our sports festival is a huge chance. It's not an event to be cancelled because of a few villains. Our sports festival is one of Japan's biggest events. In the past, the Olympics were called a festival of sports, and the whole country was crazy about them. As you know, with reductions in scale and population, they're now a shell of their former glory. And now, for Japan, what has taken the place of those Olympics is the U.A. Sports Festival!" Aizawa explained.
"How have I never heard of this...?" Kyoro mumbled. "Of course, all the top heroes around the country will be watching. For scouting purposes!" Momo said looking at Kyoro. "There's my motivation." Kyoro responded. "After we graduate, it's typical to join a pro agency as a sidekick." Kaminari added with a thumbs up. "A lot of people miss their chance to become independent after that and become external sidekicks, though. Kaminari, I feel like you'd be one of them. Since you're dumb." Jiro joked?
"Of course, joining a famous hero agency will get you more experience and popularity. Time is limited. If you expect to go pro, then the path to your future will open up at this event. One chance a year— a total of three chances. No aspiring heroes can afford to miss this event. If you understand that, then don't slack off on your preparations!" Aizawa said making Kyoro frown in determination. "Homeroom is dissmised." He added.

Lunchtime
As everyone conversed in the class Kyoro stood out of his seat with his hands in his pockets. And almost unnoticed, he left the classroom.
As Kyoro walked down the hall he heard cheers and shouts.
'Are they really that loud...?' He thought shaking his head.

School was out and Kyoro was the first out of his seat. He walked up to the large door to the classroom and slid it open, only to see a sea of curious students.
"What business do you have with Class A?" Iida asked. "Scouting the enemy, square." Bakugo answered walking up beside Kyoro. "We're the ones who made it out the villains' attack. There's no point in doing stuff like that." He said the last part to the students. "Out of my way, extras!" Bakugo said glaring at the already nervous students, his intimidation factor the culprit. "Stop calling people 'extras' just because you don't know them!" Iida scolded.
"I came to see what the famous Class A was like, but you seem pretty arrogant." Shinso said walking through the crowd and up to Bakugo and Kyoro. "Are all the students in the hero course like this?" Shinso asked Kyoro, who gave a shrug in response. "Seeing something like this makes me disillusioned. There are quite a few people who enrolled in General Studies or other courses because they didn't make it to the hero course. Did you know that?" Shinso asked. "The school has left those of us a chance. Depending on the results of the sports festival, they'll consider our transfer into the hero course. And it seems they may also transfer people out." Shinso informed. "Scouting out the enemy? I, at least, came to say that even if you're in the hero course, if you get too carried away, I'll sweep your feet out from under you. I came with a declaration of war." Shinso declared as he and Bakugo stared at each other.
"Glad we could have this chat." Kyoro said before a spherical head coiled around his neck. It was a Venus fly trap shaped like a famous 'Piranha Plant'. It snapped its jaws a couple times making some students cower in fear. Kyoro began walking forward, students making a lot of room for him to leave. "Have a nice day." He added as he left. Bakugo and Todoroki also exited the classroom using the room Kyoro made.

Kyoro was lying on his bed reading through several textbooks as Gaia floated in the air with a bored face.
"You are the most boring individual." She commented. "Thanks. I try." Kyoro responded as his eyes darted through the words in text book. Seconds later he set it down with a sigh before picking up one to his left, when suddenly a hand stopped him. "That's the fourth one in two hours. Please, do something else." Gaia asked exasperated.
"Sure." Kyoro said setting down the textbook. Kyoro, who was wearing a light blue hoodie and black sweatpants, took off his hoodie and revealed a light green t-shirt. He set it down and turned on the tv before getting in push-up position. "Can you sit on my back to add weight?" Kyoro asked. "Is there something you're trying to say?" Gaia asked annoyed. "If I wanted to insult your weight, I would. Can you just do it? I don't have the money for weights." Kyoro said with a sigh. Gaia said nothing as she landed on the floor and walked over to Kyoro. She sat crisscross on his back with a sigh before switching her focus to his tv.
"So, is this what you meant by available in a few?" Kyoro asked. "Yeah. When you said, be on standby, I thought you figured out that I was preparing my body." Gaia answered. "No, that was my way of asking for comfort." Kyoro admit. "Heh. Who'd have thought. Nice to know you depend on me." Gaia said arrogantly. "Mhm..." Kyoro said shaking his head and continuing his push-ups.
"Can you change the channel?" Gaia asked. Kyoro ignored her and rolled his eyes. 'I wonder what everyone else is doing to prepare...' Kyoro thought as Gaia groaned. "Hey. Try using your quirk as you workout." Gaia offered. Kyoro started making several kinds of flowers as he continued his push-ups.
As time went by, his entire room had almost every known flower to date. Kyoro groaned before falling on his face. "That's enough..." He said while panting. "Geez, guess that's how it feels to have the world on your shoulders." Kyoro said with a chuckle before Gaia stomped on his back. "You wanna say that again?" She asked glaring down at him. "No, thanks— I'm good!" Kyoro yelped.
"Tch. What I thought. So what's next on the list? If I have to watch you read books for day, I'm gonna lose it." Gaia asked. "The same routine for two weeks." Kyoro said nervously.
"I'm stealing a console." Gaia said walking out of Kyoro's room. Kyoro ran after her to stop her from shoplifting.
~•~
The two weeks went by in the blink of an eye...
For most.
Kyoro and Min Min were in their uniforms, standing at the front door with their roommates in front of them.
"Will we watching on tv! Do your best!" Kiriyu said filled with excitement. "Bring home the gold, Kyoro. We'll be waiting." Elisio said giving a nod. "Go out there and kick ass, ya' runt." Ryukei said giving a smirk. "Try not to hurt yourself." Akane said, being the only one who mention safety.
"Thank you all! Let's go, Kyoro." Min Min said opening the door. Kyoro was silent before giving a smile and nodding to his roommates and leaving.
'I'm winning that gold.' He thought with determination.

U.A. Sports Festival - Coliseum Waiting Room
Kyoro was meditating on the floor as everyone prepared themselves for the events ahead. The door to the waiting room opened and Iida entered.
"Everyone, are you ready?" He asked. "We will be entering soon." Iida announced.
Kyoro looked up and saw Todoroki talking to Izuku. He ignored it and stood up with his eyes closed. Suddenly someone tapped his shoulder and it was none other than Todoroki.
"Kyoro. You may have beaten me during the hero exercises, but I won't lose again. I also like to think I'm stronger than you, but we will have to see. There may be no one in your corner but, I still see you as hurdle I have to overcome. Just know, I'm going to beat you." Todoroki said staring down at Kyoro.
"Two declarations of war— back to back!" Kaminari commented. "Not again..." Kirishima added with a sigh.
"We'll see." Was all Kyoro said with a blank face.

"Hey! Pay attention, audience! Swarm, mass media! This year's high school rodeo of adolescence that you all love, the U.A. Sports Festival, is about to begin! Everybody, are you ready?!" Present Mic said from a commentators booth, the crowd already screaming with excitement. "It's time for the students to enter the first-year stage!" He announced.
From an entrance tunnel, Izuku led the fray of Class 1-A as they entered the field of the coliseum. Fireworks went off as the class exited the tunnel. At the back was Kyoro shuffling his feet in a lazy manor.
"The U.A. Sports Festival! The huge battle were fledgling heroes sharpen their swords once a year! Anyway, these are the guys, right? The miraculous new stars who overcame enemy attacks with their hearts of steel! Hero Course, Class 1-A, right?!" Present Mic announced as the class walked the field, the crowd still cheering.
"They haven't been getting much airtime, but this class is also full of talent! Hero Course, Class 1-B!" Present Mic said as Class B walked out onto the field. "Next up, General Classes C, D, and E!" He added limiting the introduction, Min Min walking beside Shinso and Klara. "Support Course, Classes F, G, and H are here, too!" He said still minimizing the introduction. "And Business Course, Classes I, J, and K!" He added, goodness, favoritism at its finest. "All of U.A.'s first years are here now!"
"It's time for the player pledge!" The R-rated pro hero, Midnight, said from a platform, looking over all of the students. "Representing the students is Kyoro Midoriya from Class 1-A!" Midnight announced. Everyone looked shocked, including Kyoro. He nervously began walking up to the stage Midnight was on. Kyoro walked up to the mic and cleared his throat away from it. Everyone was waiting for him to speak in complete silence.
"Good luck." Kyoro said before stepping off the stage, his classmates growing aggravated at his words. People began booing as he walked back to Class 1-A's spot on the field. 'I'm so proud...' Gaia said with a sniff.
"Now, let's get started right away. The first game is what you'd call a qualifier! Every year, many drink their tears here! Now, here is the fateful first game!" Midnight shouted as a projection appeared behind her, a slot machine rolling. "This year, it's..." The a lot machine stopped on an Obstacle Race. "... this!"
"I see a top 5 in my future." Kyoro mumbled. "All 11 classes will participate in this race. The course will be the outer circumference of this stadium— about four kilometers! Our school's selling point is freedom!" Midnight explained before licking her lips. "As long as you stay on the course, it doesn't matter what you do!" She exclaimed, the crowd continuing to cheer. "Now, take your places everyone!" She added.
A large tunnel with a red outline was where everyone gathered. Many people pushed to be at the front but Kyoro just hung back and away from the others, catching the eye of mist of the crowd. Three green lights were above the tunnel.
One went out.
Two went out.
Three went out.
"Start!" Midnight yelled.
Everyone began making a dash to leave the tunnel as Kyoro walked behind.
"Okay, here's the play-by-play!" Present Mic started. "Are you ready to do the commentary, Mummy Man?" Present Mic asked Aizawa, who was to his right. "You're the one who forced me to come." Aizawa answered. "Let's get started right away, Mummy Man. What should we pay attention to in the early stages?" Present Mic asked. "This part right now." Aizawa answered sarcastically.
Everyone was pushing each other around and shoving each other to get through the narrow tunnel. Suddenly, a cold breeze flew through the tunnel before ice encased peoples feet. Todoroki ran out of the tunnel unfazed, already gaining a head start. Bakugo, Momo, Aoyama, and Kirishima were of the select few who escaped the ice ambush, they quickly began running after him.
Kyoro was still behind everyone, with a bored gaze. He jumped up a bit before suddenly, he was gone.
Todoroki looked back at the people who were finally getting free of the ice, yet still struggling to traverse it. When he looked forward, he saw a flurry of cherry blossom petals fly past him. Kyoro slid to a roll and kept running, now ahead of Todoroki. Kyoro kept running until a large robotic hand was swung at him, making him dodge out of the way.
"Faux villains." Kyoro said looking ahead and seeing many of the robots from the entrance exam.
"Obstacles have suddenly shown up! Starting with... the first barrier!" Present Mic shouted as Kyoro and Todoroki stood off against three zero-pointers. "Robin Inferno!" Present Mic yelled.
"So this is what they used in the general entrance exam?" Todoroki asked. "Yeah, I never got to fight one personally though." Kyoro answered. Two of them thrust their hands toward Kyoro and Todoroki but Todoroki lifted his hand sent a massive wave of ice, stopping their movement. "If they went through all this trouble, I wish they would've prepared something better." Todoroki commented. "Since my stupid old man is watching." Todoroki said darkly. The ice encased the two zero-pointers completely as Todoroki sighed.
"What? You want Godzilla? I'm pretty sure it doesn't get worse than this..." Kyoro said still standing next him. Todoroki began running again making Kyoro take off as well. The zero-pointers began to crack and crumble before toppling over, cutting off a way of proceeding for the other contestants.
"Todoroki from Class 1-A! He attacked and defended in one hit! How elegant! And Kyoro Midoriya slipping by as well. How crafty!" Present Mic shouted. 'What's with people calling me crafty...' Kyoro thought as he kept his pace, only a couple feet ahead of Todoroki. "Todoroki has never fought them before, but those Robo Infernos couldn't get past his elite moves!" Present Mic added.
'No. No. Go ahead— dick-ride more...' Kyoro thought squinting his eyes. 'Alright. A good start. I haven't used my quirk yet, nor have I revealed it's full capabilities.' Kyoro thought as he ran.
'I'm winning that gold.' Kyoro thought.
