✈ Hunter ✈
Loud screams reverberated around my head, which intensified the headache I was suffering.
"Faster!" Logan was yelling at the top of his lungs. After which, it was followed by peals of laughter and ended with a loud snort.
Wait, or was it Vincent?
"This is the fastest I could go!" Logan/Vincent replied.
I groaned as the simple action of trying to open my eye, hurt like a bus ran over me. My whole body ached from lying down in a weird angle. Especially my limbs, oh God. I could not even feel my fingers. I tried wriggling my fingers and toes to get rid of the numbness.
Through the shoutings of my lunatic friends, I could distantly hear police sirens.
Hold on.
Police sirens? Are we running away from police?
After realising that possible truth, adrenaline pumped through my body and made me sit up straight.
I sat up too fast and my whole world was spinning so badly. Nausea began to take over me as I smacked on the headrest for the driver to stop the car.
"What?" Logan turned around with a look of annoyance.
Perhaps it was my bad for informing the driver that he needed to stop. Logan was so high from the alcohol, that he did not have any common sense in him. My eyes widened in fear as the car was driving straight towards a big tree.
Even if I wanted to puke, there was no time for me to do that. I threw myself in front and grab the steering wheel. I managed to swerve the car to the side before it banged the tree right in the face.
"Stop the car right now!" To my horror Logan and Vincent did not realise how dangerous we were back there.
"We can't Hunter! The police are catching up on us!" Vincent said in a sing-song voice.
Seriously? How could he be so relax when the police are chasing after us?
Speaking of which, why are we being chased after? Looking at our situation, there was no time for us to argue. No matter what, it was better for us to escape.
My surroundings are in a blur because of the fast speed of the car. My grasp on the car seat tightened every time Logan nearly knock onto something.
"The blue car in front, stop right now!" The officer's voice blasted through the speaker. My heart was racing and I could feel it thumping right beneath my ribcage.
"Guys, what the hell did we do? I think we should stop before we're in deeper trouble." I tried to talk some sense into Logan and Vincent.
"You didn't know what we did? Oh cut it out, stop feigning ignorance." Vincent threw me a look, like it was my fault we are being chased after by the police.
"Wh-" My sentence was cut off by the sudden brake Logan did to the car.
"What the flying duck?"
If it was not for the seat belt(thank goodness I have the brains to buckle it), I would have flown out of the car.
I was jerked to the front forcefully and knocked my head against the head rest. Stars began to cloud my vision, and vomit was threatening to climb up my throat.
"Put your hands to where I can see it. Do not attempt to do anything funny." The voice of authority pierced through my puzzled brain.
I started to raise up my hand in surrender before moving it to cover my mouth. Despite being warned not to do anything else other than putting my hands up. I quickly unbuckle the seat belt and dashed out of the car.
"Hey! Stop right there!" The officer ordered me but I have something important to do.
I bent over and puke out my dinner and whatever that was in my stomach. The next moment, my head felt giddy and I black out within seconds.
.....................
"Hey, wake up. Kid, I'm not gonna repeat myself. Wake the hell up." An old gruff voice jolted me awake.
"Huh?" I blurted out in confusion, as I have no idea where am I.
"Get up, your parents are here."
Here? Where?
My head exploded with stars and I groaned out in pain. Hang over is a bitch.
The impatient officer used the key and clink it against the metal gates. I snapped back to reality and shuffled towards the exit.
As I followed the officer, my mind was rewinding itself to recall what the hell happened last night. However, I could only remember the (almost) car accident. Whenever I tried to think back harder, my brain protested by having an internal war.
But, I have a bad feeling about whatever happened the previous night.
"Hunter Quinn." My dad was having that murderous expression on his face.
Oh no. This is definitely serious.
"What the hell were you doing at the magistrate's house?"
"Wh-?"
"I'm not finish yet. You and your good friends broke three of her windows!"
"We d-"
"Stop interrupting me. You boys even vandalised the convenience store! For God's sake, learn from Carter, would you? Be a mature and dependable man." My dad finally stopped nagging at me.
"I'm not big bro."
"Of course you're not." My dad muttered under his breath.
"Enough, can't you see that your son is hurt?!" My mum defended me and examined my injuries with a worried expression.
"Sweetie, does your head hurt?"
I bit back the next few words I wanted to say, because I know it would cause me even more trouble.
Instead, I mumbled, "Mum.."
"Alright, I know you didn't like me calling you sweetie."
My hands reached up to the source of pain.
"Headache has been my companion since I woke up." I replied with a soft sigh.
"Serves you right. You're lucky we're able to settle this problem out of court. Do you know how hard it was to convince that strict magsitrate to let you boys off this time? She was bent on charging you all. But, you boys are not getting away with drink driving. How many times have I reminded you not to drink and drive? Hunter, you have to learn how to be responsible for your own mistakes."
My dad paused to take a deep breath in before saying the following words that changed my life forever.
"Hunter Quinn, mark my words. By hook or crook, find a house yourself and move out by tomorrow."

💠 Amber 💠
"Amber! Dinner is ready!" My mum's high-pitched voice was sent right into my ears, as my fingers danced around the keyboard.
"Yes, mum!" I yelled a response and one finger left the keyboard just to push up my sliding glasses.
After five minutes, my eyes was still glued to my laptop.
"Amber Cadwell!" This time it was my dad who has an, oh so deep voice, called out for me.
"I'll be out in a minute!"
It was a lie. My parents knew it.
I would continue with my assignment until I am satisfied with it. I have that stubborn streak in me when it comes to completing a task.
"Just a few more words.." I mumbled to myself as my fingers sped up in the typing process.
"Ah yes!" I punched up a fist of triumph and did a lame chicken dance. Well, don't laugh at me. I had been sitting down, facing my laptop for hours. My neck, back and fingers are so stiff I could barely move it normally.
After giving my body a little shake here and there, I turned around to walk towards the door. As my hands came into contact with the cool metal doorknob, I felt it twist under my palm.
But I was not turning it.
Uh oh.
"Ow!" I yelped and hop backwards.
"Amber?" Colton lifted an eyebrow as he saw me blowing air at my toes.
"Colt! Do you know the rule of knocking before you enter?!" I glared at Colton for a second before making sure that my toes are okay. The redness was not going off but aside from a little skin peeling, it will live.
"Geez, I'm sorry. How would I know you're just at the back?" Colton rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. He definitely looked sorry, as usual I could not stay angry at him for long.
"Come little brother, help your sister out. Will ya?" I stretched out my hand for him to hold. Colton rolled his eyes at me as he grabbed onto my arms instead.
"You wouldn't have hurt your toe, if you come down the minute mum and dad called you, older sister." Colton smirked at me, the apologetic look he had earlier on totally vanished.
"What a convenient way to push the blame to me." I muttered sarcastically under my breath.
"The queen has arrived!" My annoying brother announced rather loudly.
"Colton, give Am a break." Andrew, my older twin brother chuckled lightly.
Colton gave the both of us a mocking salute and settled down at the dinner table.
"Sweetheart, you're just in time." My mum flashed me her warm smile when she entered the dining area.
"Hey" Andrew was nudging me in the sides.
I arched an eyebrow to encourage him to continue.
"Are you done with the research assignment?"
"Of course, I wasn't doing nothing just now." I replied and pick up my fork and spoon.
"Er, mind lending me for reference?" Andrew whispered awkwardly.
"Are you serious? Tomorrow's the deadline. It's not like you, who will do homework the day before due date." My eyes flickered to Andrew's, and could hardly hide the surprise in my voice.
"So, it's a yes or no?"
"Okay, fine, yes." I decided not to press for an answer.
"Hey double As, leave out any plans for the weekend. Aunt Felicity is organising a family gathering." My dad snapped his fingers to get our attention.
"Yes, daddy."
