Narrator's POV :

Unbeknownst to Belle, a dispute erupted in the office once she left. The argument was initiated by Lorenzo; his mind was not reassured that Isabelle could bear the truth.

However, Santiago's unwavering decision at disclosing what he believed was very little, would undoubtedly help Isabelle cope in moving on from their disgraceful father. Emilliano Cavill, their cousin, was firmly standing along side Santiago.

Unlike others outside of the office, these three knew of a family secret that ran so deep; so life altering - once released, it can never be pushed back inside. The other's were to young to comprehend the cruelty the older three went through to survive.

Everybody Has A Chapter They Don't Read Out Loud.

" She can't handle the truth " Lorenzo argued harshly . His eyes showed how his truama permanently changed him. The truth about it is you can't just "get over it". His demeanor was disturbed - inimaginable pain that he tried dealing with in his own way.

" I didn't fucking tell her about it" Santiago rebutted powerfully. He continued "You didn't see her eyes, She's been kept in the dark for far too long - I gave her something so she could move on"

Emilliano was calmly sitting back and observing, till he finally spoke up " The less you reveal - the more they'll wonder; the more they hurt." His words resonated slowly with Lorenzo, but his heart still ached for his little sister for finding out her father's abuse. Santiago locked eyes with Emilliano; showing his appreciation.

Silence envolped the room as they all pondered about the innocent girls heartache.

"No matter the situation, never let your emotions overpower your intelligence"Santiago berated irritably.

Lorenzo was ashamed at his lose of control, but this issue was far to sensitive to him. His other brothers although they went through abuse; it was different from him. The younger brothers only knew of the assult they endured not of the other issues the older three had gone through.
Isabelle, along with Emilliano's two little sisters, were very sheltered and far to young to remember anything. So of course Belle, finding out now disturbed her.

"After talking to you about this earlier , I told Valentina and Liliana the truth" Emilliano informed Santiago. The two girls were the same age as Isabelle. They were always inseparable so it made sense to Santiago that they would have to be told aswell.

"Who we are and who we need to be to survive are two very different things" Santiago noted, drawing in a long, slow breath after he'd spoke. Emilliano nodded in assent.

"And here we are living despite it all" Lorenzo reminded with a smirk; pouring the older two  Prosecco in their gold stained glasses.

Despite all that was said, they understood it was his shitty way of expressing his regret.

Emilliano chuckled inwardly, adding "No one hurts our family - and lives ; no one"  They all proudly shared a look amongst themselves - a silent vow to always do what it takes to survive.

The three of them were a force to be reckoned with together. When everyone believed they'd give up and sink away, they rose up and built a  empire. They turned the pain into power.

"may god have mercy on my enemies 'cause I won't " Santiago remarked, lifting his glass to them and adding -

"Salute"
