"Well... aren't you the quiet one?"

Dr. Alice Williams marched purposely down the hall, nurses and other employees rushed around her in organized chaos.
That was the beauty of the hospital. It was fast-paced, loud, and the adrenaline was high. Everything had to be done quickly and efficiently. But even though people were running around, yelling, and barking orders, it all had a place. It was structured. It had to be. If one thing wasn't where it should be it could be the difference between life and death.
Dr. Williams made sure her hands were washed and her hair was tied back before she joined the rest of the team. The trolley rolled swiftly through the small crowds of people, the nurses were getting an I.V while another doctor was checking the patient's vitals. He looked up when Dr. Williams approached and gave her a nod.
"Patient is a young adult female. She appears malnourished and needs fluids immediately. The pulse is there but weak. Blood pressure is low, we've given her an oxygen mask to help her breathing." He explained as they walked.
Dr. Williams looked down at the patient. She couldn't quite see their face with the oxygen mask but she could see the patient was in bad shape. Their skin was pale, blue veins showing in the transparent skin. They were gaunt, each of their ribs noticeable beneath their clothes and she didn't like how shallow each of their breaths were.
"What's the story, Brown?" Dr. Williams asked as pulled her into a room.
"They were found in an abandoned building by the police. I'm not sure if it was a hostage situation but they have remained unconscious since they've been found." The other doctor explained.
Dr. Williams frowned as she examined the patient. She checked her stomach and ribs for broken bones or internal bleeding. Double checked her airways and looked for any wounds or anything unusual.
"No external damage..." Dr. Williams murmured, running her hands down the patient's sides. "No noticeable internal damage either. They appear fine other than being malnourished."
"It will be hard to know their condition while they are asleep." He sighed. "I'll try and see what I can learn from the people who brought her in."
"We'll see if we can identify who she is after we get some fluids into her." Dr. Williams added. "We'll monitor her but don't do any tests until they wake up."
Dr. Brown nodded, his gaze didn't leave the patient as he narrowed his eyes slightly. He leaned forward and gently removed her mask, his stare moving towards a mark on her forehead.
"Looks like a scar..." He said curiously.
Dr. Williams frowned. "From a fairly recent injury."
"Whoever treated it, did very well." He went to replace the oxygen mask as Dr. Williams's gaze slowly moved towards the patient's face. The stray hairs, grime, and sunken cheeks made it hard to see but something was unnerving about it...
Dr. Williams had been working in the medical field for years and she wasn't one to get queasy over someone's unwell state. This was why she focused so much more on the patient to see what was so scarily familiar. She had dealt with someone who had a nail plunged into their foot! Why did this young girl's face make her skin crawl in all the worst ways?
Then it hit her like a hammer.
Dr. Williams gasped and staggered back, making her fellow doctors and nurses look at her in surprise. "Alice?" Dr. Brown said cautiously.
Dr. Williams' gaze was hard and serious as she looked at the patient. "I want tests done right now." She announced.
His brow furrowed. "Are you sure? Shouldn't we wait-"
"I want to know who they are." Dr. Williams interrupted with no room to argue. "I'll talk with Stephen. I want security guards to keep an eye on her and make sure everyone is careful while checking her vitals."
"What is it?" Dr. Brown questioned seriously. "We need to know."
Dr. Williams hesitated. She didn't want to cause any unnecessary drama in case her suspicions were incorrect. But that face had haunted her for so long. The slow smile on the news as she watched Ninjago burn into purple flames had been echoing in her head for years. She pulled Dr. Brown aside, out of earshot from others in the room, so she could speak to him in a low tone.
"Don't you see it?" Dr. Williams whispered, her tone scared. Dr. Brown looked at her in surprise. "It's Harumi!"
Dr. Brown let out a strangled sound as they both turned to look at her.
It couldn't be! The words were on the tip of his tongue. But it looks so much like her.
"No." Dr. Brown breathed, his eyes wild. "How is she here?"
"It's Harumi..." Dr. Williams repeated softer. The face was the same. The nose was the same. Everything was the same! Harumi was here!
No. Her brain seemed to say. She didn't see an innocent princess with soft eyes and a warm smile. Memories of a cruel grin and a red painted face came into her mind.
It's The Quiet One.
NOTE****
Well I really hope this works out well!
The original is available, I kept it published for anyone who wants to read it. I was going to delete it all and simply put it in my deleted scenes book but I've been trying to do that with Heart Song and BOY is that tedious!
I think we're off to a stable start! We'll see how this goes! Let me know your thoughts and please vote if you like it!
