When One becomes Lost

It was an average day for Ruli and Angoramon. Angoramon sat in a cozy corner, enjoying a really good book. "The Soul within the Mental Labyrinth" by the famous "Sun Novelist". A tale of a child who is a soul enity. One whose memories are sealed with in each room of the labyrinth. One which the child had created to escape the "scary place" which bares the name "Reality". To escape the imaginary world they crafted to leave the real world problems. The labyrinth now imprisoned the small soul, intending to keep them locked away forever. Now they must leave the place they created. To escape the imaginary world in their mind to face the real world.

Just when he was reaching the part where the soul enity is facing the final door to unlock their body, returning to the real world. Coming in contact with the keeper of the labyrinth. The soul's mental self confronting them, wanting to see if they are truly ready to leave. When the sounds of giggling caused him to look up from his book.

Not that he ever get upset when this happened. He usually took pauses anyways when they all had missions. Good thing he had bookmarks.

On the bed were Ruli and Solisamon. Ruli was taking care of Solisamon while the team went to visit Mei's family in New York city since there were a few distorted rifts in the area. Gulusgammamon felt as if this was far too dangerous for Solisamon. Claiming that Solisamon was still far too young for missions of this level. Therefore she would be left behind yet again. Promises of a souvenir once the group got back.

In the mean time, the girls were going to have a fun time to get their minds off the case.

Ruli loved dressing up Solisamon in adorable dresses or cute outfits. It was like having the little sister that she always wanted. Aoi and Mika would join in on the fun when the three were together. Espimon would be on included since he was now hanging around Aoi more. Gave Ruli relief to know that there was a guardian watching over one of her best friends.

The cyborg never was one for dressing up. Though Solisamon happened to pick up the adorable cute eyes from Gammamon. Meaning that one look at those teal eyes made any refusals impossible, absolutely impossible!

The young oni digimon was placed in a black frilly dress with small violet laced bows around her waist. Wearing a black bowed headband with a golden star with a ruby like gemstone in the center of it. Black velvet gloves wrapped in dark violent lace which formed a bow in the middle of the back of the hands. Not removing her collar. Refusing to ever abandoned the treasure that Gulusgammamon made her. Ruli allowed her to keep it in, despite how it may clash the outfit.

"Introducing Solisamon style: Gulus" Ruli shows off Solisamon latest outfit to her bunny digimon partner. Proud to show her latest outfit choice for the Pure digimon.

Almost as fun as dressing up a cute porcelain doll in those gorgeous silk dresses.

Solisamon twirled a bit before curtsying before Angoramon like a princess or noble would. Bokomon had taught her about proper manners in a class once. Even though half the time she slept through the class.

Some subjects are just excuses for the brain to shut down and make students pass out. Teachers say it's a sign of disrespect, but they had to have had those moments when they were students too right?

"You look very cute" Angoramon smiled. Clapping a biy.

Solisamon beamed in happiness. Glowing brightly with excitement.

"Oh I got to senr a picture to Hiro! He will die from a massive cuteness overload" Ruli giggled as she prepared to take the perfect photo shot.

Both knowing all too well that Gulus would be the one to be overwhelmed by such adorableness. No matter how hard he tried to deny such nonsense. Refusing to admit that the "Jet Black Champion" or rather the "Dark Conqueror"  had begun to develop a soft spot. The thought was completely "a misconception" is what the champion digimon claimed.

Hiro even called him out on the fact that Gulus never seems to deny Solisamon anything she asks of him.

Then in that moment, a faint cry from another digiverse reached Solisamon. A desperate cry for help from countless starry galaxies. A cry full of such anguish that it brough tears to Solisamon eyes. Cold streaks of water rolled down her pink cheeks.Never before had Solisamon felt such pain from a cry before. The pain echoed in her mind with incoherent cries which rumbled in her digicore. Such negative emotions drove her to feel emotions she never feel before.

Just what was happening in that verse?!

Before Ruli or Angoramon could ask her what happened, Solisamon summoned a portal and dashed inside. Not hesitating with no second thoughts in mind. Causing the two to follow her to who knows where. Once the trio comes through, they are met with a thick fog which was impossible to see anything beyond an arm's length.

There was an ominous wind blowing in the area. Like spirits were hasing through their bodies to make their blood or data run cold. The warmth of the sun could be felt, yet the fog's thickness made it seem that they arrived in the strange place at night. Angoramon keen sense of hearing picked up the sounds of a nearby water source. Presumably a lake or a some sort of an ocean.

Solisamon looked around frantically for whatever called her here. Desperation written all over her face. Ruli then scooped the little one up, Solisamon explained what was going on.

"You travel to other digital worlds?!" Ruli gasped in shock.

HOW DID HIRO NOT TELL THEM SOONER?!

"Only if needed" Solisamon confidently nodded. "Though Solisamon also explores and makes new friends" No point in denying that.

"Okay we are so coming back to that later! Why were you called here?" Ruli asked in a soft tone to comfort the destressed digimon.

"Not sure....first time,...first time Solisa heard such pain" Tears began to reform when she recalled the faint cry.

"Maybe we could ask some locals. Till we solve the problem, we can not return home" Angoramon could not help but feel creeped out by this area.

This area had an eerie sense to it. That no one should even be here in the first place. They should get out of this dimension as soon as possible.

The three somehow made their way through the fog till they came across a type of chapel like mansion. The building appeared to be submerged deep in murky brown water. The golden bricks were faded in moldly moss. Glass fragments could be seen floating on the water surface along with various debris. Clearly this place or rather this entire world was abandoned.

Were they hear to help a spirit that couldn't ascend? Maybe they should have invited Ino for this one. A fellow spirit to aid another.

Suddenly Angoramon hear something, pushing the girls into some nearby bushes. Covering their mouths to prevent anyone to know they were there.

There five cloaked figures came from the fog. As if they were manifested from the fog itself. They each wore six black felt hooded cloaks with a thick golden rope around their necks. Each robe has a unique color orb: Grey, Red, Blue, Green, Pink. The orbs themselves had symbols that the trio had never seen before. Then a silhouette figure followed behind them. The fog around the area kept them from getting a good look at them.

A boat floated towards the mystery group. The wind guiding the small wooden boat in their direction. Soon the group got into the small boat, returning to the building. Chanting something. Unfortunately it was hard to make out.

Even for Angoramon keen sense of hearding. No words could be made out. Is it possible for a fog to be soundproof?!

Solisamon tried to move in closer to try to get a better listen in what the cloaked figures were saying. Just then, a sixth cloaked figure bumped into her. Nearly causing her to fall into the water if Angoramon didn't catch her in time.

"Ugh...." The figure hood fell down as they rubbed their sore head. Revealing to be the digimon Veemon.

"Owwch!" Solisamon would surely get a bruise from that headbutt.

"Huh? NO! DARN IT!" Veemon no longer saw the figures which he had been following. "No...Racheal...."

"Racheal? Do you mean the figure with your friends?" Ruli got down yo Veemon level. Curious on what the blue dragon digimon may know of this world.

Veemon looked up as his eyes were filled with tears. More flowing down his cheeks. As if someone took his digicore and crushed it with an emotional dagger.  Usually Veemon was a happy go lucky digimon who was always full of confidence and smiles. Now it looks like he had lost something dear to him.

Solisamon recognized that pain almost instantly. The very same painful cry that had brought her to this digiverse in the first place. This Veemon had a problem that required her assistance.

The "Multiverse Traveler" will do everything in her power to help him!

"My best pal Racheal.....she has become "Lost"..." He furiously wiped away his tears as he tried to calm his nerves.

"Lost"? Lost like she doesn't know the way home?" Angoramon asked. Thinking that those figures may not be as shady as they appeared to be.

"NO! "Lost" as in she may never come back. She is on the verge of losing her purpose to live. Those cloaked figures find kids like that and bring them to the "Lost" Digital World. They take them here to extract the souls to acsend. Losing themselves permentantly! Never to be reborn as the person they once were! Racheal has been so down since losing her mother......I tried to cheer her up, supporting the girl who welcomed me like family. Now....n-now..." Veemon shook a bit before he broke down into another sob.

Solisamon did not really understand the whole "Lost" concept. Hiro never explaining the who concept of death to her. Bokomon keeping her out of classes of that certain topic, since he believed the Pure digimon wasn't ready to learn of this quite yet.

The same could not be said for Ruli or Angoramon. Both were frozen pale with a horrorified sense of dread. To lose one's sense of purpose and be brought to a place such as this. Knowing that the cloaked figures took the ones who were "Lost" to this Digital World, all so their souls could acsend. Be reborn into a new self. Without any regard to how the child felt about this matter at all.

No wonder Veemon was devastated like he was. If the same were to happen to Ruli then Angoramon would be the same way.

"We will help you! Let's save Racheal before she acsend! We will not let her give up because she has fallen in the grasps of depression" Angoramon reassured Veemon as he helped him to his feet.

"Yeah! Anything to help a fellow girl out!" Ruli agreed. No way a girl should EVER have to come to a place such like this.

Solisamon was on board of course! No way will she turn down a cry from help. She never give up on her mission. That and she never wanted anyone to feel such a pain again. That cry would be a haunting reminder of how she must NEVER fail any verse.

How dearly Veemon must treasure Rachel to feel this pain. Cherishing his human like a precious treasure. Adoring her as if they were siblings of the same species.

To lost her now....That would be the greatest blow to his heart. More painful than having a digimon become a digitama and forever lose their memories. To lose the self they once were forever. Never to be seen ever again.

Veemon looked overjoyed to have the help, promising to fully express their gratitude to these angels who answer his plea. He vowed to save his best pal that saved him so long ago. Way back when he was a small Demi Veemon in the forest of Nepeal.

Angoramon flew the group to the chapel like building. It sometimes pay to have a member of the team that doubles as a means of transport.

Ruli couldn't help but feel a strange feeling enter her body. As if she had been infected by something, like a disease of some kind. It felt like her senses were slowly betraying her. Her mind was starting to abandon all thoughts of saving Racheal and escape this world.

"Ruli?" Angoramon turned to his partner. Having noticed that the young girl no longer following the sesrch of the building.

"Hm?" She looked up slowly, like it took all her strength just to do that small movement.

"Ruli? You okay?" Solisamon jumped on Angoramon shoulder to get a better look at their friend.

"I...I...don't know.... I feel so....so...empty" That caused Veemon to freeze and look back from the doorway he was currently searched.

"That's what Racheal said before those cloaked figures took her to this place! We need to hurry before your friend here is next!" Veemon urged the other two digimon to quicken their pace.

Now things were getting worse. Not only did they have to save Racheal before her soul was forced to acsend.  Now Ruli was also in danger!

UGH! THIS IS NOT A GOOD GIRLS DAY! WHY MUST ALL GIRLS DAYS BE RUINED?!!

"Will we be effected too?" Angoramon asked fearfully. Taking Ruli into his arms.

"Thankifully no. Seems digimon are immune to the effects of this place. This place only solely effects humans. I think it's because we have no soul but instead digicores. Seems like being a digimon has it's perks in places like this" Veemon explained while the three climbed up the long stairway.

At least there was SOME GOOD new in the mitts to all this. They just had to beat the race against time to saved their friends.

They came to a huge black door with was decorated in a five sphere like designs that formed a pentagon. Each sphere illuminated brightly. It appears that a type of ritual was in progress.

Angoramon rammed against the door to confirm their worst fears. The five cloaked figures had laid Racheal down on a marbel table. The orbs around their neck glowing as they chanted something around her.

It was then and only then that they got a good look at Racheal. Finally getting to see the girl which the trio had came to rescue.

A light tanned skin girl with black curly hair. Blue highlights at the back with a few single streaks. Must have gotten them to show her partnership with Veemon. She wore a beautiful handmade light blue blouse with golden yellow spirals. A bright white silk scarf tied around her waist. Black baggy pants that seem a bit tomboyish for the girl laying there. On her feet were woven straw sandals with golden yellow straps. On her personal were two acessories. One was a side bag that was bright blue with a cute R and V symbol on the opening strap. The other appeared to be some type of heirloom. Probably one that she recieved from a relative or dear friend. The golden locket around her neck had been greatly damaged. A massive series of cracks on the left side of the oval gold pendant. A few pieces of the outer design was missing pieces from the top and a few on the bottom were also missing.

"RACHEAL!" Without thinking, Veemon rushed to his friends side. "GET AWAY FROM HER YOU CREEP SHOWS!"

The red orb figure halted Veemon with a mere movement of his hand. Red eyes could be seen amongst the vast emptiness of where the face should be.

"That is not your decision to make. The only one who can choose what she shall do now is Racheal. Just like Ruli shall if she decides to be acsended. We are only guides to these "Lost Ones". Taking the child who are burdened with emotion turmoil that grows too much for them to bare. We are not evil, we are mere ferrymen to aid them" The figure allowed them to come closer to where Racheal was laying down.

The other four cloaked figures followed their leader example. Allowing the inturders to go to the girl's side.

"Racheal...." Veemon slowly reached out to the young girl. Praying that he was not too late.

"Hmmgh.." Much to his relief, Racheal began to stir. Slowly opening her soft violet eyes. "Vee...Veemon?"

"RACHEAL!" Veemon hugged her like there was no tomorrow.  "I WAS SO SCARED!!!" The blue dragon sobbed into the girl's shoulder.

"Why...why are you here...? I want to disappear....My life has been so empty without mom....If I disappear I can be with her....Who would miss me anyways...?" Racheal held the locket. Sounding like she had already thrown in the towel.

"THAT IS A LIE!" Solisamon refused to let this virl just give up.

Especially mot after all they did to come here. NOT AFTER ALL VEEMON HAD TO GO THROUGH TO GET HER BACK!!

"Racheal sad because momma is gone. Though you have amazing partner who came here to save you! There are hard days that make Solisamon wonder why she gets out of bed sometimes. Then she remembers why she keeps going. Cause she has friends and family to come back to. Racheal has Veemon that will always be there for her. To help through sad days"  Solisamon remembers that no matter how lost you feel, as long as a person is there waiting for you then there is always a reason to be there.

"That's right. Something if when you feel as if you lost a purpose and thinks you be better off gone. Then remember that there are always multi purpose waiting for you. Even if that purpose is really someone that you want to treasure more than anything" Angoramon looked at Ruli when he said that.

The two sharing a smile as they do so.

"Yeah, no matter what I been through. I can always rely on Angoramon and the others whenever I feel lost. Having someone to guide you back is one of the greatest feeling in the whole. That feeling is also the greatest medicine to heal the dread of losing someone precious. You may have lost your mother yet Veemon still here" Ruli offered Rachel a small smile. "You also got three new friends to help through that pain too."

"Racheal...." Veemon took Racheal hand and held it in his own. "Your mother was an amazing woman. Welcoming me into your family the moment you rescued me. Gave me a home to sleep in. A loving embrace by a mother who accepted a complete stranger like me. Like a stray puppy taken in my a mother cat who adopted it as it's own kitten. Feeding me her delicious food that warms my stomach. Giving me a motherly figure that very few digimon get. Racheal, we spent six years together. In though six years, you grew more of a sister too me. The day that we lost her.....the day the fire happened...I was crushed. Wondering how the world could take away like her..." Soon Veemon pulled Racheal in a tight embraced hug.

Racheal eyes widen while fresh streams of tears flowed down her face. How could she have been so blind? She thought she was the only one who lost her mother. How could she not think that Veemon wasn't suffering too?

Her mother always called him "Chōrā". The word for son in Nepali. Why wouldn't he miss her just as much as Racheal did?!

"My dear Chōrī, please live your life to the fullest. Even if there is where I am no longer there. I know you and Veemon will get through this. Stay together. I will forever watch over you my beloved children. Please remember that being yourself is a purpose of it's own" Racheal's mother voice echoed in her mind.

Her mother's final wish was Racheal to be find a purpose together with Veemon. She was ready to throw that all away because of her sorrows.

"I wanna go home..." Racheal had made the choice to remain herself.

"We arrange that. Glad that you finally see that you haven't lost your purpose" The red orb figure spoke.

The other four cloaked figures chanted a type of spell. In minutes, a doorway manifested from the chapel wall. Racheal could see a bright light and the silhouette of her father house.

"Home..." Rachel and Veemon made their way to the doorway, before turning back to face the trio. "Thank you all so much....I will never forget you" She shed a few tears of gratitude as the two disappeared in the doorway.

In an instant, the portal back to their world opened up. They seemed to have fix the problem that had reached out to them. Without looking back, the three went home.

Prehaps the day will come when they met Racheal again. Only not in the nightmarish Digital World they had just left behind.

"Racheal going to be okay now" Solisamon smiled. Telling herself this relax from the world she nearly failed.

"Yes. Racheal has Veemon by her side now. That and she has three new friends which will come anytime, we are only a call away" Ruli smiled, holding Solisamon in her arms.

"A feeling of "Lost" can be the most painful feeling. It eats away at one's heart and causes them to lost their purpose. However with the support of a loved one. The mecidine of their support can heal the would" Angoramon got into his usual puffery.

They soon arrived back in Ruli room. All went well and all us back to normal. Time for more dresses!

Gulusgammamon came by to get Solisamon two hours later when he saw her in the "Gulus style" dress. Never before had anyone seen the "Jet Black Champion" got teary eyed on how adorable Solisamon look.

His response?

"NO. SHE - I- SOLISAMON, LET'S GO HOME!" He scooped the little one in his arms and left back to Hiro's dorm.

Truly he had a soft spot for the Pure digimon who he had adopted as a little sister.

A week later, Gulus took over Gammamon to ask Ruli if he can have a suit matching Solisamon new dress.

What? He promised to chaperone her dance at school? DO NOT READ TOO MUCH INTO IT! HE IS NOT GOING SOFT! JUST BEING FORMAL FOR THE DANCE!
