Question #5
What are your thoughts on bullying?
As a person who has been ostracised (a form of bullying) and has seen cases of bullying and has friends who have been bullied, and most foremost AS A HUMAN BEING I believe that it is not right. We are all humans and no matter what traits people think define you, there are no traits or limitations holding you down from anything. And people should not bully you or ostracise you because of these 'traits'. So here is a message to bullies which you may or may not have seen before:
See that girl you just called fat?
She is starving herself.
You know that girl you just called ugly?
She spends hours putting on make-up hoping people will like her.
That boy you just tripped?
He is abused enough at home.
See that old man you made fun of cause of the ugly scars?
He fought for our country.
See that young boy you must made fun of for always being sick?
He has to walk home in the snow cause his family is too poor.
That guy you just made fun of for crying?
His mother is dying.
That boy you punched in the hall today?
He committed suicide a few minutes ago.
That girl you just called fat?
She's overdosing on diet pills.
And here is a quote from a song which has a beautiful meaning:
We are one, but we are many.
And from all, the lands on earth we come.
We share a dream, and sing with one voice!
I am you are we are Australian.
But the word Australian could just as easily be replaced with Human.
The song name is: I am Australian. It's a very good Australian folk song.
Thank you.
