Third Person Perspective

    Cold. Exhausted. Humiliated. Defenseless. These are the negative feelings that Ko'atal, or more known as Kotal Kahn, the Emperor of Outworld, has been going through ever since he trapped himself in the cavern he took refuge in. This was he price he was paying for going after the woman who helped the Edenian demigod Rain escape his execution. Because the woman soon revealed herself to be Shinnok's heir. A monstrous demon known as Akuma. The Osh'Tekk warrior has been asking himself what he had done to deserve this torment of a punishment. Was it because he failed to protect his realm from Raiden's invasion? Or was it because he was blind to see the Kytinn queen D'Vorah as a trusted ally instead of an agent to Quan Chi? Or was it possibly. . . Because of the decision of breaking the Reiko Accords with Earthrealm after the Osh'Tekk Emperor discovered that Kano took Shinnok's Amulet from Earthrealm and handing it over to Mileena for her to take back the Outworld throne?

   "What's that up ahead?" a voice alerts Kotal Kahn, his own heart now racing as footsteps approach the door to the cavern. However, a screech and a yell soon followed before the sound of a body falls to the floor as someone becomes disgusted of the scene.

    "Damn Spiders! Why does it have to be damn spiders in this part of the cave?!" a second voice hisses. If it weren't for the voice sounding so feminine, Kotal Kahn could've sworn that it would've belong to Reptile.

"Quit complaining, Khameleon," the first voice snaps back, now sounding more like the former Outworld General, Reiko. "Besides, it's just a switch puzzle up ahead, so there's no doubt that Gina Everhart wouldn't be here. Because even a telepath wouldn't know how to make that work."

 "If that's what you think, fine! But don't come crying to me because of Akuma sending us back down here to see if someone else that's important is down here as well!" Khameleon snaps before the footsteps fade. With that, Kotal Kahn relaxes a bit before sensing a presence approach him. When he looks up, it was a blue light of energy. But before the Emperor could do anything, the light goes into his sword. The sawed weapon glows before an Earthrealm mark appears on the hilt of the weapon. With this done, Kotal Kahn slowly understands that there's someone from Earthrealm is here in the Krypt. And that someone, is a person who's willing to help. . .

   "How many spiders do you think we killed so far?"

   "As of now, I don't know. I lost count at thirty two."

    "Eh, fair enough," I shrug at Lao's answer as we make our way towards a webbed tunnel. Soon, we're at a path with a forked tunnel within it.

   "So, which way do we go first?" Lao asks, his hat shining from the torches we carried.

   "I don't know, because something isn't right," I look around. "I was expecting Raiden's staff to be here. But it could be. . . Oh, nevermind."

   "Did you find it?" Lao asks.

    "Yeah," I watch the staff crackle with power. "But it's stuck. Up there. In cobwebs."
