Different People To Meet
Gina (Four Days Later)
"Gina, can you come down here please? There's some people who need to see you," my father calls as I sense two unknown presences. One of them was relaxed while the other was on guard in case of something happening. Something tells me that both of them aren't normal people to mess around with unless I'm asking to get my backside kicked. However, I can sense other people outside of the house
"Coming, Dad," I set down the book I was reading and went out of my room to go down the stairs of my family's three story beach house. When I reach the main floor I see my father with a woman wearing an army hat on top of a blonde braid and a man with brown hair with a streak of grey on each side of his head.
"Hi, I'm Gina," I extend my hand out. "May I ask for yours?"
"I'm Johnny Cage," the man takes ahold of my hand to shake it. "And this is Sonya Blade. We're here to pick you up by a request of a friend."
"By which friend?" I asked, even though I knew the answer before I even let the man shake my hand.
"We've been sent by request of Misteria," Sonya speaks. "She's needs your help on a mission."
"How soon do I need to leave?" I then asked, sensing the desperation in the woman's aura. It's as if she wants to look for someone important.
"Right now would be perfect," the army general replies, her patience starting to fade.
Go for it, if you're going to test them, I hear my father mentally say with a light tone. But do take care that they have four more people outside. And don't wreck the house like you did last time.
Don't worry Dad, I reply. I'm taking this one outside.
"Sorry about So--"
"You should know one thing I really don't like," I straight up cut off Johnny by punching him in the jaw. "I don't like people who try to keep their personnel a secret."
"You stepped in it now," Sonya says before throwing a punch that I catch.
I think it's you and Johnny that's stepped in it, I smirk before kicking the surprised general hard enough for her and Johnny to go out the door that was opened by a guy in sort of Clan uniform.
Yup, diplomacy failed, I hear him say. Heh, this is going be interesting to go against another telepath.
"Takeda, heads up!" a blonde girl says too late as I jump kick the Clan boy in the chest before I land in the front yard.
"Alright guys," Johnny says as he and Sonya get off of each other. "Let her have it!"
"You guys want to pick me up?" I ask before raising my hands in a taunting manner. "Then you better not hold back on catching me then."
"Then you better bring it!" a dark colored girl says before charging at me with robotic enhanced gloves on her hands.
"Consider it brought, Jacqui Briggs," I start running towards the girl with a sly smile. Then at the right moment, I flip over while removing a small, blue baton sized bar from the back of my shirt. But soon it turns into a two handed staff that I use to hit the girl's back to send her stumbling to the ground. When I land, I catch a green glowing kick from the blonde with a hand.
"Mediterranean War Cult Aura," I recognize the glow. "Can be fully triggered when experiencing something emotional, like complete anger, or mostly due to seeing someone about to die. That's a very rare gift to bear from your father, Cassie Cage."
"How do you know about that?" Cassie asks with surprise in her eyes. "And how do you know about Jacqui?"
"Let's just say I'm like your Shirai Ryu friend, Takahashi Takeda," I softly reply before swinging my staff into Cassie's side to send her face first into the ground and to tackle Jacqui. But not a second too late as I raise a hand to catch a smoke bomb arrow from going over my shoulder and landing.
"Not a bad shot for a cute Shaolin dash former thief," I smirk while snapping the arrow in half.
"Barking up the wrong tree, sister," Kung Jin says as he swings his own staff around for him and I to exchange blows with each other.
"Oh right, different interests," I say as we lock staffs. "Too bad, you're handsome enough for even girls like me to fall for you." I then completely shock the Shaolin archer by leaning and giving him a kiss on the cheek. But that was before I did a full swing on the other side of his face, knocking him down.
"Three down, one to go," I chuckle before my staff is wrapped in a metallic cable and yanked out of my grip. Soon the cable is retracted into the left arm of the Shirai Ryu warrior that I kicked earlier.
"Hanzo Hasashi taught you well," I say with a smile. "I admit, I didn't see that coming. But then again, I'm going against a fellow telepath."
"That now explains how you know everyone without meeting them," Takeda comments. "But I have to ask you: Why can't I read your mind?"
"Because I'm not letting you," I say with an obvious tone. "I know better than to mentally let my guard down."
"Then I'll try again when you're unconscious," the telepath smirks before trying to use my staff against me. Which led to a failure when the blue bar shrinks down to baton size.
"Oh right, I forgot to mention that my staff doesn't like strangers," I joke before I kick the bar out of Takeda's hand and catching it. "It only obeys the House of Everhart."
"That's just wierd," the Shirai Ryu says before shooting out two cables that eject small blades. He then swings them around to catch me off guard. However, thanks to the Edenian Martial arts that I learned, I dodge the cables easily. But soon enough, one of the cables wrap around my staff again, this time catching my left hand as well. It was also when my head starts to hurt to feel like someone was hitting me with a wrench.
She's tough, Takeda thinks quietly. Maybe just a little bit more to knock her out.
"Hey dude," I say with clenched teeth when the pain gets worse, "Keep your thoughts to yourself!" With that, I mentally struck back, causing Takeda to stumble and grabbing his head with his free hand. I then charge at him before swinging my right leg and slamming it in the spot the Shirai Ryu warrior left open. He lets out a shout in pain as I heard a crack in his side. He then crumbles to the ground clutching his side.
"Oops," was the one word came to my mind. "Did I break something? Because if I did, I am so sorry."
"What the hell are you apologizing for?!" Jacqui says, pushing me aside before sliding down next to Takeda.
"I have a very bad habit of testing people and ending up getting serious," I reply while scratching the back of my head. "But I had to see if you guys were really from Special Forces besides going through your minds for answers."
"So what you've done up until now you were testing us and holding back?" Johnny asks after helping Cassie up to her feet.
"It's just the way she is, Johnny," I turn to see a girl a couple of years older than me with dark skin like Jacqui with long, straight black hair tied back in a ponytail.
"Misteria, is that you?" I ask the girl, looking like a deer in headlights before a fist connects to the left side of my face. I stumbled a little bit before looking to see Sonya being restrained by her family.
"Sonya, calm down!" Johnny shouts.
"We're running out of time, and that selfish bitch is messing around with us!" Sonya struggles to break free. "How can she be the one to go with Misteria and find Jax when she pulls shit like this?!"
"Sonya Blade, restrain yourself!" Someone yells before a gust of wind blows around as a man dressed in an Asian fighter's attire appears. His hair was silver white along his eyes glowing bright. But the wierd thing was that I couldn't read his mind.
"Hey Gina," Misteria places a hand on my shoulder. "It's kind of useless to read a god's mind."
"He's a god?" I stupidly ask. "Like Raiden?"
"I am his brother, Fujin," the fighter introduces himself. "And I need your help, Gina Everhart."
"What do you need my help for?" I ask.
"To find Raiden and other people in a realm known as the Krypt," Fujin replies. "Come with us. We'll explain along the way." Deep down, something tells me that it's going to be a long trip with this god, Misteria, and Special Forces.
