After work was over, Jungkook hurried to his new dorm— shared with a very shy cat hybrid named Minjun; he doesn't speak much, but that's great for Jungkook.
When he got to the dorm, Minjun had his earphones in and he was on his phone, so Jungkook was very ready to play Quest Find with his online friend.
His new pink headset was so adorable and comfortable. He couldn't wait to use them, so he wasted no time in messaging Jwan and giving him his voice chat username so they could finally play together.
Of course, he was a bit nervous, his expectations all over the place.
Would Jwan like him? Would Jwan have a deep voice? Would he sound stern or a little less assertive? Would he be kind? Shy? Would he sound like a...
A...
What is he?
Is he human? Why had Jungkook never even asked Jwan what he is? His own identity is very clear, with his name being bun, but what about Jwan?
What if he was a vampire? Or a human, which isn't exactly hard to come by, but what if Jwan was a human? Or maybe he's a cat; he'll hiss and be feisty at the game, probably.
Gosh, he should've asked before the endless ringing from being called sounded in his new headphones.
He took in a deep breath before he pulled his mouse in the direction of the green answer button on his computer screen. He answered the call.
...
"Hello?"
"Oh!" The voice was smooth, yet strong, and a bit surprised. "Oh, hi bun. Sorry, my computer lagged a bit and it confused me."
Jungkook wasn't paying attention to what Jwan was saying. He only paid attention to the honey-like voice he was presented with.
It was nice.
He turned the headset volume up, hoping the other would speak more, and he did, asking Jungkook if they were going to play now, and all Jungkook could think about was one thing.
The voice was very gentle; comforting; not too rough, yet so dominant with its power and boldness at the same time— like he was trying to sound less intimidating, but Jungkook would give in to the voice in an instant if its power was used against him.
But there was something else about it.
It sounded... familiar.
"Bun? You there?"
Jungkook blinked himself back into reality. "Um, y-yeah. Yeah, let's play."
His voice was easy to like, but the fact that it sounded almost too close to that wolf made it hard to focus on anything else. But there's no way that it can be Seokjin.
Over seven billion people live on this planet, earth. There was no way that it could be Seokjin. It's hilarious to even think about. Jwan just has a similar voice. That's all!
"Before we start," Jungkook let out as he scooted closer to his computer. "I just wanna know. Are you human?"
"Hah!" Jwan laughed right at him— well, at the question. "No, I'm not. Sometimes wish it were that simple, but no."
Jungkook stared hard at the screen as his game loaded. "Then... what are you, if you don't mind me asking?"
There was a bit of a pause on the other side. At first, it lasted so long that Jungkook thought that Jwan's computer lagged again, but then he heard shuffling in the headset.
"I'm a werewolf."
Oh— "Oh."
Fun. Great. That's good. That's totally good. There are probably millions and millions of werewolves on earth, mixed with all of the other people.
It was just a coincidence.
"What?" Jwan asked, sounding much more like Seokjin than he ever wanted or needed. "You don't wanna be friends with a wolf? Do you want me to go?"
Go.. Go where? Away? No.
No.
Even with the slight suspicion, Jungkook will not connect Jwan to Seokjin. He has other werewolf friends, so he has no problem with wolves.
Jwan will not be going anywhere. He's not Seokjin.
"Stay," he muttered, pouting to himself. "I don't want you to go. I don't have a problem with wolves. I have wolf friends, you know." He chewed at his bottom lip as silence filled their chat. "Let's play the game, yeah?"
On the other side, Jwan hummed. "Yeah. I believe you promised me lots of money today, right? I gotta buy my own house. Can't live with you for forever."
Right.
Jwan lives with him in-game. He had given lots of stuff to this guy in hopes to help, and he did, earning a friend along the way. A good friend. A gaming friend.
A friend.
Not Seokjin. There's absolutely no way, so Jungkook will ignore those signs. Jwan is nice and Seokjin is... Seokjin. How could he ever even compare them to begin with?
"You can live with me for however long you want to," he finally said, more confident in himself after his little... pep-talk.
Jwan chuckled, that honey-like voice right in his ears. Jungkook just had to turn the volume up to the max, a cheeky smile on his face as satisfaction welcomed itself.
"What about this," Jwan started to suggest, "What if we both get a ton of money and then we buy a big house together? Then we could just split the pay and have a huge place to ourselves."
Jungkook chuckled as well. "Are you trying to ask me to move in with you? In game? You haven't even taken me on a date yet, Jwan~" he teased.
"Is that a yes, if I take you on a date?" Jwan laughed back at him, his contagious laugh making Jungkook's smile grow bigger.
"I—" probably shouldn't have mentioned anything about a date, first of all. A bit of teasing wouldn't hurt, though. It's fine. "Sure, sure. We can move in together. Can't do that just standing here, though. Let's go get rich first okay?"
"Right. Let's go."
