Change feels a lot like stumbling, like tripping over
My own feet,

Like folding fear into pieces, sent flying
'til they light the hollow sky.

It feels a lot like tucking shame
into an empty page, sent away without hope of return,

Like looking the mirror and seeing, for the first time,
A face, a changing season,

A mellow evening that drifts and then dissolves
Into a smile.

Life brings my body into focus; at first, a shadow,
A distant creak, A hint of my own voice,

A name that echoes through my bones
For the first time, bringing reflections to life.
