The Lucky coin.

"WAKE UP, SOPHIE!" a voice shouted.

"Huh?" Sophie mumbled, carrying a very dazed expression etched on her face. "Amy, did I wake up late again?"

"Of course!" Amy said with an added sigh. "You seriously need to wake up by yourself, I can't always be in charge of waking you up."

Sophie brushed aside her straight blonde hair that fell on her face. She rubbed her olive eyes and groaned. She hated waking up for school.

She looked at her sister, Amy. Amy looked almost identical to her. They shared having the same blonde hair and eyes, but her personalities were totally different. Amy, was smart and very inventive, traits Sophie wished she had. could have.

"Ugh, what time is it?" Sophie asked as she stood up to go to the bathroom.

"Apparently "Almost 7:50 am. The school will start at 8:20 am, so hurry up! You have an exam!" Amy said as she left Sophie's room so she could change.

Sophie rolled her eyes. Her sister always wanted to be early for school.

Sophie quickly brushed her teeth and changed into her school uniform. She brushed her hair and tied it in a bun. She was about to go but then stopped.

"Oh, right! My lucky coin!" Sophie exclaimed, and went to her desk table to get it. her lucky coin.

Her lucky coin was a gift from her wacky uncle when she was five years old. Sophie thought it was fake, but she ended up out winning her singing competition when her lucky coin was in her pocket. Ever since then, she brought brings it to every exam or competition.

"Where is it?" Sophie said to herself as she searched for her coin inside the drawers.

"SOPHIE! ME AND YOU AND I ARE GOING TO BE SO LATE IF YOU DO NOT GET OUT OF THIS ROOM!" Amy shouted from outside her room. "I DO NOT WANT TO BE LATE FOR TO SCHOOL!"

Sophie gave up, simply because she learned that her sister could can be very brutal if she didn't you don't listen to her.

"Fine!" Sophie said and opened the door. "Happy?"

"Yes, now let's just get going. Dad's waiting in the car."

As they walked down the stairs, Sophie felt nervous. She has had never gone to an exam without her lucky coin. She started to panic in her mind.

"Hey kids, strap your seatbelts and we can go," their dad said as he adjusted his tie.

They strapped their seatbelts and their dad drove out of their driveway.

"Sophie Pooh? Are you okay? You seem to be sweating," Dad said to Sophie as he glanced at her Sophie in through the car rearview mirror window while driving.

Sophie scowled. He'd been calling her that since she was three years old. Apparently, her dad noticed that she liked Honey so much that he started calling her: "Sophie Pooh."

"No, I'm just feeling very hot in the car," Sophie said and tried to not hint that she was nervous.

"True, I'm starting to feel hot too," Amy said and turned the air conditioner up."

"Thank goodness," Sophie mumbled.

The reason Sophie didn't want to tell them that she couldn't find her lucky coin is was that her sister would laugh at her, saying that she couldn't believe that her own sister still believes believed in that coin. Despite the proof, Sophie would give her, she just said it was because of "pure luck".

"Right, we're here. Goodbye, you two and oh, good luck on your exam Sophie Pooh," Dad said with a smile.

"Bye, dad. See you after school," Sophie and Amy said in unison.

After they got out of the car, their dad drove off.

"Bye, sis," Amy said and went inside without her.

That was usually what happens happened every schooling day, so Sophie didn't bother about it. As she stepped inside the school, a voice said:

"Sophie! You're here! Finally!"

"Hey, Valerie," Sophie said with a smile.

"I'm really excited about the maths exam!" Valerie said, fishing out and used a rubber band from inside her pocket to tie her long, curly nut-brown hair.

"Of course, you're so good at maths, I bet you could even close your eyes, do the test and still pass!"

Valerie giggled. "I know you're bad at maths, do you have your lucky coin with you?" Valerie asked while training her teal eyes on Sophie.

"Nope, I may have misplaced it somewhere. Now I'm sure to fail the test," Sophie said and felt like doing having a meltdown in front of everybody.

"Did you study?"

"Yes, but obviously that isn't enough! I never go to a single exam without it!"

"Calm down, at least you studied. You might even get a C! That's still pretty good!"

"I don't trust you," Sophie said with a sigh and the bell rang.

"We got to get to class, come on," Valerie said and as she held Sophie's hand and walked to class.

They finally got to their maths class after a few minutes. They saw students stressing out and other students bragging that they would pass.

"CLASS, BE QUIET!" Maths teacher Miss Peters said while adjusting her glasses and the classroom became quiet. "Sit down and get ready for your maths exam."

A few people groaned.

"Good luck, Sophie," Valerie whispered to Sophie with a smile and sat down.

Sophie sat down and prayed that she'll she'd pass.

"Okay, the exam starts now. No cheating," Miss Peters said and looked at all her students. with her teal eyes.

Sophie tried to do her paper but she couldn't even hold her pencil properly.

After an hour, Miss Peters said it was time to give their papers to her.

Sophie stared at her paper, a few of them was the answers were blank, but she had just scribbled around them to look like she had tried. She took a deep breath and passed the test forward with the others.

"Thank you, everyone. Now let's get on with today's lesson..." Miss Peters said and proceeded with the lesson.

After school, their dad drove Sophie and Amy back home as usual. Sophie immediately walked upstairs to her room and put her bag down.

"WOOF!" Sophie heard from under her bed.

"Daisy? What are you doing under my bed?" Sophie said when she bent looked down. the bed.

Daisy was a Pomeranian Dog, with a wedge-shaped head and with erect ears. She liked hanging mostly is near Sophie because Sophie doted on her. spends a lot of time with her.

"Bad girl. Come out!" Sophie said but then noticed something on Daisy's paw. Something shiny. "Daisy, give Sophie the shiny thing from your paw."

Daisy put her hand away from it and walked out from under the bed.

"Good girl!" Sophie said and patted Daisy's head, then and took the shiny object. thing.

Daisy licked Sophie's hand then sat down.

"Wait, this is my lucky coin! How did it get there?" Sophie said and looked at Daisy.

Daisy walked out of the room.

"Daisy must have taken it while I was sleeping or something. Wish I could have found it with her in the morning," Sophie mumbled and saw Daisy whimpering outside her room. "Daisy, I'm not mad at you, come here."

Daisy slowly walked to her and Sophie gave her a treat from her drawer.

"I'm definitely going to fail, for sure."

After a few days, Miss Peters finally revealed the results of the maths test.

"Okay last three, Valerie got a 93, good job. Brandon got a 68, not bad," Miss Peters said and gave the test papers to them. "Lastly, Sophie..." The whole class turned their heads to Sophie like owls.

Sophie sighed, knowing how this would end.

"You got a 60, very low, unlike on your usual exams," Miss Peters said, shaking her head in disapproval.

"What? I thought I would fail? Guess Valerie was right," Sophie thought as she took her exam paper.

In the end, Sophie learned that she didn't need to count on her lucky coin so much. All she had to do was and just try and study and try her best.
