Inside the nursery, Queerdeer is spending time with his kits while his mate naps.

Queerdeer: Demikit, are you ready to open your eyes, yet?

Demikit: *huddling against their father* I'm scared...what if it hurts?

Akoikit: It doesn't hurt. *running around with Graykit* It feels amazing! You get to see so many cool things!

Queerdeer: You don't have to if you don't want to. Whenever you feel like it.

Straightfur walks in.

Straightfur: Has Demikit opened his eyes yet?

Queerdeer: *coughs* It's "they" today, by the way.

Demikit: No, it's okay. Either one is fine with me. Who are you?

Straightfur: Um, hi little one. I'm Straightfur.

Demikit: Hi Straightfur. *hesitates* I...I think I'm gonna open my eyes now... *blinks and sees for the first time* Oh...oh!

Demikit stumbles around the nursery floor as they stare, taking in the walls, moss, and the other cats. Their littermates run over in excitement.

Graykit: What do ya think?!

Demikit: *squinting* It's so...bright.

Straightfur: Hah, wait till you get outside! It's-

Gayday: *pops in* HEY EVERYONE TRY THIS IT'S SOO GOOD!!

Queerdeer: SHH! Bi-sky is sleepi-

Bi-sky: *waking up* W-wha? What's that?

Gayday: It's called ramen noodles, and I FRIGGIN LOVE IT! *slurps up a hundred at once and splatters broth on everyone*

Akoikit: Heyyy! *licks it off* That's...really good. Tastes like...

Demikit: ...Chicken!

Graykit: What's chicken?

The kits start lapping at the ramen that Gayday is holding, and Bi-sky gets up.

Bi-sky: Kits, you're not supposed to eat anything but milk until you're older. Come back to the nest!

Gayday: But it'll bring out their queerness and give them extra pride!

Straightfur: *has been eating ramen this whole time and now looks up in surprise* hUH?

Gayday: LOLOLOL JUST KIDDING!

Queerdeer: *scoops up his kits* Back to Momma you go.

The kits whine in protest, and Gayday shrugs and leaves, taking the noodles with him.

Straightfur: Thanks for letting me visit, guys.

Queerdeer: No problem, Straightfur.

Straightfur: *starts to leave*

Demikit: Wait! *runs over and boops Straightfur with his nose* Bye. Thanks for helping me open my eyes.

Straightfur: *blinks* O-okay. Bye, Demikit. *watches as they skip back to their mother, then exits the den feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.*
