Jewel POV
Saturday 16th May, 2009
"YES!!!"
Fist bumping the air, I do my celebratory dance. Once again I've beaten Demetri in a game of cards. Total beat down.
"I'll take my 10K in cash thank you." I high five Renata.
"You cheated."
"She won fair and square Demetri. Man up." Renata says, chuckling.
My team as I like to call them, consisted of Felix, head man in charge. Then there's Renata, Aro placed her second because of her gift. Then Heidi and of course, my combat twins, Saira and Eve.
Who are not actual twins.
They were both born in 1994. Both turned by nomads when they were 23. Eve being the oldest out the two, born in February and Saira in August. The girls are the most skillful fighters I've ever seen.
I mean they move like if they're one. Sometimes it's so cool to watch them spar, even if it's against themselves. Their dynamic is indisputable.
They don't talk much though. I think I've heard their voices about...let's just say I can count it on my hand for the time since they've been here.
"I want a rematch." He whines, making me laugh.
"Nope." I pop the P.
"I want my money." The door suddenly opens and we all freeze.
"Seems you're having a grand time my love." Aro says walking in. I smile sheepishly, putting my hands behind my back.
5 months is still considered honeymoon faze right?
"We are."
He signals for them to leave and within a second they were out the room, door closing behind them.
I'll remind Demetri of my money later.
"What's up Ancient?" I walk over to him, wrapping my arms around his neck, and he buries his face in mines.
"I like this scent you're wearing." He moves back to look at me.
"Thank you. It's Lillies." He pushes my hair behind my ear.
"Sempre così bella Amore." (Always so beautiful Love.)
"I understood bella and Amore is love right?" He nods, before kissing me. I respond back almost immediately with the same intensity as him.
Aro is a great kisser, and I don't necessarily like to toot my own horn, but I knew I was as well. He surpassed all the other idiots I've dated before, and though I'm still getting used to the age difference, I'm learning to love him more everyday.
Now don't get me wrong, his slightly psychotic need for power is still very much there, and sometimes it was a little concerning to be honest, but I wasn't afraid of him, or any of them for that matter.
I entangle my hand into his soft hair, tugging on it lightly, causing him to growl. Smiling into the kiss, I pull on his hair harder, and the next second I was pinned down on our bed, with my hands above my head.
I'm so happy vampires don't need air, because I would be panting like I just ran a marathon.
His hair was hanging down in front of his face, and he raises up letting me get one of the hair ties we have on the night stand for times like this.
I realized he likes me to put his hair up for him sometimes.
When I get it, he lifts me up, sitting down on the bed, causing me to straddle him. I smile at him, putting his hair in a ponytail.
"Finished." I twirl it a bit, resting my hands on his shoulder.
"How has you're day been Amore?"
"It's been good. Demetri has 10 thousands dollars for me." He chuckles.
"Is that so?" I nod giggling.
"He lost the bet." He shakes his head, amused.
"How was your day?" I ask him back.
"Vexatious. I apologize that I could not spend more time with you for your birthday."
"That's okay. I know duty calls." He kisses my neck, a soft moan leaving my mouth, and I start rolling my hips.
He moves back to look into my eyes, hands tightly holding my waist, stopping me.
"I have something for you." My eyes narrow in confusion. The door opens and Felix comes in with a black suede jewelry box in hand. He hands it to Aro and leaves immediately after.
"What is this?" I open it. My jaw drops to the floor, rendered speechless by the beauty of the necklace.
"Oh wow."
I couldn't seem to look away.
"It's fake right?" He chuckles.
"We both know nothing I give is fake Amore." He kisses my cheek, whispering happy birthday.
"Thank you." I close it back, resting it on the bed. I go to kiss him, when someone knocks on the door again, and I groan.
"Master Aro, Kali has returned." I hear Jane say. The look in his eyes shifts slightly to anger, but he when he focuses back on me, they soften once more.
"Amore-"
"It's okay." I peck his lips, getting off him. He stands up, turning to look at me.
"I'll make it up to you." A smirk comes unto my face.
"I look forward to it." He chuckles, walking, over to the door.
Ancient years old....and still so gorgeous.
He turns to me, narrowing his eyes at me.
"Stop it." He warns making me giggle.
"I'm not doing anything." I innocently smile at him.
I giggle at the slight eye roll he gives me, proceeding to open the door.
"Aro the hair tie."
"For later." The beautiful smirking bastard left after that.
Squealing like a school girl, I pick back up the jewelry bow, gazing at the necklace again, a smile coming unto my face.
Honestly, I was a little worried about how our relationship would be. Knowing Aro's reputation...I thought we might have a hot/cold relationship. I was also a little bit worried that he might have ended up being an outright controlling bastard that doesn't care for my opinion, and would lock me up in their tower, and only summon me when ready, but he hasn't.
I mean he is controlling in certain aspects, if you understand what I mean. And I'm not surprised that he is though. Knowing his character.
Carlisle told me that my relationship with Aro seems to be different, and I asked him how so? And as Rosalie simply put it, it's like the beast's heart, only softens for the belle.
"I would believe you love it?" I look up, smiling at my team.
"I do."
——
It's a little after 7pm, and normally this is the usual time I'll be with Aro when they call it a day at work, but he's held up in the throne room right now, so I decided to come to the library.
Funny because I've been staring at this book for a few minutes now, but if anyone saw me they would think, I'm reading.
Reading isn't something I do much. A few comics here or there, but I don't read a lot. Plus there's not really anything that the queens are assigned to do, so I've started reading more than just comics.
Athenadora stays in her tower almost always. Sometimes she'll come down to walk in the garden, or when it's time to feed, but she goes right back after. Cauis even spends time with her there.
I tried asking Aro for something to do, but he told me I don't need to worry about doing anything, he has everyone in place for everything to be done.
So...I've accepted my soft living, but still try to be productive by reading, going in the garden for walks, study a bit. I've been trying to learn Italian with Heidi. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we have class... but as I said I'm trying, because I don't like to study.
I have a lot of time to think of other ideas, but for now I'm just enjoying married life.
I hear whispering, and I glance over at the three minor guards in the corner. They bow to me, and I smile a bit, looking back down to my book, actually reading this time.
Aro needed Felix, Renata and Heidi in the throne room, so it's only my combat twins and those three currently guarding me, and I knew Aro had to have some level of trust in them, for him to let them guard me.
He's not very lenient when it comes to my safety and who can be around me. I had to talk him out of punishing the team that time a guard that was favorable of Sulpicia, got to close to killing me, two months ago. And seeing as I don't stay in the tower, he's even more overprotective.
Feeling tired of not reading, I rest the book on my lap, closing my eyes, but I'm immediately met with flashbacks of that day.
You don't know how happy I am, that vampires don't sleep, because if we could, I knew nightmares would be my best friend.
Flashback.
I feel the van stop, Henry's unconscious body across from me. Tied up like he was an animal.
"Stupid Anderson!" Someone punches the van. My eyes widen in disbelief.
Anderson is with them?
"Stop the van at the building we need to do this now. Take those three to Faitoria."
I felt us driving for a few more minutes before we stopped and the door was open. They drag us out to some freaky looking small house in the woods. Moss and bush almost completely covering it.
When we got inside, the entire room was run down, smelling like wet old wood. The floors are covered in dirt, and a set of old freaky scientists equipment for furniture. A metal table at the center of the room, and a chair at the other end.
"Get her on that table and strap him in the chair. I need those systems on their heads now!" The bastard shouts.
"They were not supposed to find us Petra!!!"
The witch glances at me, smiling as I fight against the man carrying me over to the table. He slams me down on it like I weighed nothing, two other men strapping my body down.
"Let me go!" I yelled, looking to up at the woman, her smile causing more wrinkles to appear on her face.
"Give her the vampire venom alone. Seeing as she is not compatible with anything else. I'll turn her and the other one."She tells Bernard, and he agrees.
"Do you really believe the systems can turn them into legions in this short time."
"100%." He kisses her cheek, walking away.
She places something on my head, and I feel myself begin to panic.
"Ready princess." She sounded and looked, like what those witches in fairytales we all we're afraid of when we were little.
"P-please don't." I stutter out, feeling fear for the first time in all of my life.
When I was young, nothing scared me. I wasn't scared when my parents left, wasn't afraid when I had to live on my own. Wasn't afraid when I found out about everything with Gwen. Wasn't scared when I met the Volturi.
But this...this was frightening.
I hear the click of a switch and I feel the vibration from before directly on my head. My body begins to shake violently, my mind feeling like it was slowly contorting.
"STOP!!" I scream out and she begins to laugh.
"Put it on the highest level Petra. We don't have time, we have to leave soon." He comes to her.
"Yes sir." She smirks down at me. I feel the intensity rise, causing a piercing scream to burst through my lips.
—
After what felt like hours, she had finally taken it off. My mind and body feeling tired.
I stared up to the rotting ceiling, feeling dead inside. Bernard appears above me, and he smiles.
"You weren't compatible with anything, but you mean the world to the Elementress. Plus... I hope that woman loses her mind when she finds out of who you are." He injects a needle into my neck, injecting whatever was in it into me.
A burning sensation instantly takes over my body and I begin to scream in pain.
"Put the system back on."
"NO!!"
"STOP!!" I hear Henry's scream before things went black.
End of Flashback.
I open my eyes, staring blankly at the bookshelf in front of me.
I felt nothing after that.
When I opened back my eyes that day, I felt dead, but clearly I was still alive. Saw and heard everything, but my mind felt distant from reality.
When I fought Aro, I didn't know who he was, but I felt like he was my target. Or maybe my subconscious self was trying to reach out to him, and didn't know how to.
Aro still tries to understand how my transition didn't take the normal time period of three days, but he said he wouldn't be surprised either if Bernard had figure out a way to do that.
Sadly some of the books were burned with information on particular things so only Bernard and his immediate team that are now all dead, knew of it.
Can you imagine that, they killed themselves. All of them. For his cause.
I'm so happy Gwen ended him the way she did.
"I can't believe someone thought to create immortal children." My ears spark up at the soft yet very audible sound between the three men in the furthest corner.
Immortal children?
I look over to them, Saira and Eve glaring at them with looks that I believe if they could kill, they would be burning right now.
"What immortal children?" I shut the book and they all look to me, eyes wide in horror when they realized I heard.
"Please forgive us, Queen Volturi." They drop to their knees, bowing.
Ah yes.
The name Aro demands them all to call me. It took a lot of convincing to get my personal guards to call me Jewel in private, seeing as he threatened to kill anyone who spoke otherwise.
"What immortal children?" I ask again, standing up. They glance at each other and then over to Saira and Eve who snarled at them.
"Saira and Eve what-"
"Leave us." I turn to the door, Aro walking over to me. Felix grabs two of the men, Renata and Heidi taking the other, dragging them out the room. Saira and Eve follow after, shutting the door behind them.
"What is going on Aro? Someone created immortal children?" I asked and he cups my face, leaning in to kiss me, but I push against his chest.
"Aro be serious. What is going on?"
"Soon I will tell all Amore." Was all he said before roughly kissing me. I growl in anger, but slowly feel myself give in.
We'll talk later. I tell myself.
He picks me up, my legs wrapping around his waist, our lips hungrily moving against each other. Our loud lewd noises filling the room.
I feel him rest me to sit on the desk, and I pull away slightly.
"We're in the library." I whisper against his lips.
His hand travels from my stomach, brushing over me bosom, before wrapping around my neck. I bite down on my lip, turned on by the action.
"Dovremmo obbedire ai regolamenti allora."
"What?" My eyes scrunch up in confusion.
I didn't catch not a word there. I think I heard allora before.
"We should obey the regulations then." He pushes me to lie down, pushing my dress up to my waist.
Oh.
I raise up on my elbows to look at him, feeling every inch of my body tingling under his gaze.
"Keep quiet my Queen." I shakily nod yes.
