Cinque
Three days later.
Wednesday 20th May, 2009
I sat in the garden, Aro and Ms. Thing were currently in the dungeon with the others, as Felix told me, trying once again to get that woman to talk.
Ms. Thing has gotten her to at least admit to changing the children, but they haven't gotten anywhere else since. She really is a strong one, I tell you that.
Thankfully I haven't met Ms. Thing since the throne room, and honestly I did not want to meet or speak to her.
Even though I said I'll tolerate her, her presence here irritates my soul; and knowing the past she and Aro has, irritates me more.
I mean it's not like I expected Aro to be a saint, but I didn't expect him to have her here, more less that he bought her the house she lives in!
I glare at the scenery in front of me like it had done me an injustice.
"Jewel." I glance over to Felix who stood on my right with the others. He holds his hand up in surrender, begging for his life.
I roll my eyes, shaking my head.
"Why would I kill you Felix?"
"Your eyes looked deadly." I laugh.
I watch them confused as they all stand straighter, faces becoming serious at whatever was behind me. I shift my body to see what it is, finding Hera walking over to us in a dress that is similar in color to mine. The bottom of it, a little dirty.
Coincidence we were both in black and white? I think not.
Jewel's dress
Hera's Dress
She couldn't be trying to out dress me right? And how is she even working comfortably in the dungeon with that on? Almost half of her cleavage spilling out.
Aro better have kept his eyes closed.
"Jewel." She calls my name, coming to stand in front of me. I turn my body to her, not getting up.
"Yes?"
"Finally we meet dear. I love your dress." I force a smile.
"Thank you. Yours is pretty as well." She smiles.
"I would like to speak to you alone. Leave us." She waves my team off, as if she has authority over them, but her subordinates didn't make any effort to move.
"I said leave us." She repeats.
Does she really think they would leave me alone with her and her subordinates.
"Only the Queen can command us to leave." Heidi tells her. She looks to me, and I raise a brow at her.
"Command them to leave." I chuckle a bit.
I kinda want to hear what she has to say.
"Give us a little space guys."
They nod, moving back only one step each.
I almost burst out laughing, but I manage to cover it with a cough. Her eyes narrowing at them.
Oh how I love them.
"How can I help you Hera?" I ask, sobering up.
"You seem to have fit in perfectly with almost everyone at the castle." She folds her arms, her body towering over mine, even then, I didn't feel intimidated.
"I have." I sit up straighter, crossing my legs.
"Is that so?" I raise a brow at her.
"I heard Athenadora doesn't even converse with you herself. Such a shame." Her facial expression would make you believe she was sadden by the news, but by her cocky tone of voice, you knew how she truly felt.
She was happy Athenodora didn't speak to me.
"She's mourning her sister. I can understand her need for distance." I turn away from her, looking back at the flowers in front of me. I hear a small hum, seeing her body turning to face the field as well.
"You are aware of my place in the Volturi right? The need Aro will always have for me?" I look over to her, and she turns to me.
I stand up.
"Hera-"
"I heard you lack any necessary gifting." I glower at her.
"Simply having no fear." I go to speak but she cuts me off again.
"How do you expect to stand next to him with no sufficient gift whatsoever. At least Sulpicia, had a gift. One that gave her right to stand next to Aro as his Queen." She turns her back to me, briefly walking towards her subordinates, their eyes glancing at her and then back to me.
She turns back around.
"Do you really believe you can surpass her?" I clasp my hands together in front of me, keeping my face neutral.
I've dealt jealous exs before, and that's exactly what she was, jealous.
I smile sweetly at her, and her confident demeanor drops slightly.
"You deem me unworthy?"
"Yes." She quickly answers. I nod.
"Good thing your opinion does not matter to me then." She narrows her eyes at me.
"Aro's does."
"Do you really think you can win against me?" She takes a threatening step towards me, and my team growls at her.
She ignores their growls, and I don't cower away like she wanted me too.
"I wasn't aware there was a competition." She glares at me.
"Sulpicia tried and Aro still called for me to please him, while she was stuck in her pathetic little tower." She steps up again.
"Watch-"
"You dare speak out of tongue!" She shouts at Felix.
"That's one thing you won't do." She looks back at me, her eyes searching mines.
"They are your subordinates." She arrogantly snickers.
"You should not care for their feelings."
"Is that how things are done with you?" I glance at the man and woman behind her. They looked about my age in human years.
"You could care less for their feelings?"
"It's what any woman who desires to be Aro's Queen should do." I stare at her amazed, by the level of stupidity that just fell out her mouth. But to her it seemed she didn't catch unto that, and puffed her chest out more, filled with pride.
"Aro cares for no one and loves only power." She walks up to me.
"He needs a woman, that will not try to soften him, and make him less than what he is, but greater." She stops slapping distance from me. A sickening smirk on her face.
"Every time, he summoned me to help him with prisoners. When he needed someone to satisfy his needs because his then wife was not pleasing him. I was the one he called." I clench my hands into fists, my poor dress reaping the consequences of my anger.
Don't slap her Jewel. Don't slap her. I tell myself, trying to calm down the bubbling rage that was slowly rising inside me.
"Whether you are Queen or not, he'll always need me Jewel dear." She steps back.
"And I will always answer his calls; and trust me he always calls." She runs off, her subordinates delaying to leave by a few seconds, before leaving themselves.
Aro said I don't have to worry.
But come on, it's his mistress for crying out loud. You mean to tell me he's not going to look at her? Her breasts were practically falling out the dress.
"Don't let her get to you Jewel." Felix says, coming to stand next to me.
"Yeah she's simply jealous that Master Aro genuinely cares for you." Renata adds. I turn to look at them, a small smile on my face.
"Shockingly. One would of thought he had no caring bone in his body." My smile broadens, a small laugh leaving my lips.
"You should talk more Eveie."
"Unlikely." She replies making me laugh more.
