A statement from His Majesty The King.

His Majesty King Rian and Miss Selena Gomez are engaged to be married.

The wedding will take place in Spring 2021. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.

His Majesty and Miss Gomez became engaged in Los Calormen earlier last month. His Majesty The King has informed close members of his family. King Rian has also sought and received the blessing of Miss Gomez's parents.

The couple will live in Haguesart Palace.

"Congratulations." Interviewer said.

"Thank you very much." Selena said, smiling.

"How did you meet and when was it?" Interviewer asked.

"We met in New York, um, middle of August 2017." Selena answered.

"At a private dinner of a mutual friend." Rian added.

"Can we know this mutual friend? And when did you actually become a couple?" Interviewer asked.

Selena and Rian looked at each other, Selena nodded.

"Sinderella Blackwood is our mutual friend and for years she tried to get us together but things never lined up for us to date until November of 2018." Rian answered.

"Sinderella Blackwood, The Duchess of Kintyre, the wife of The Duke of Kintyre." Interviewer said.

"She's a very good friend of ours." Selena said.

"You both did attend her wedding back in 2016." Interviewer said.

"Yes, it was a beautiful wedding." Rian said.

"Did you go down on your knees?" Interviewer asked Rian.

"I was down on my knees." Rian replied.

"Where were you?" Interviewer asked.

"We were here in Los Calormen." Rian answered.

"When did you tell your parents that you had said 'yes' to King Rian?" Interviewer asked.

"Well, actually, King Rian asked my parents before he asked me, so they knew before me." Selena answered.

"I can imagine it was important, but were there any risks of the secrecy being broken at any time?" Interviewer asked.

"I don't think so actually, because we'd obviously been living in two separate continents. That itself has kept a natural secrecy." Rian answered.

"Was it important for you to keep the secrecy?" Interviewer asked.

"Yes, Selena is a very famous woman so I wanted to protect her as you well know from other royal couples with security and privacy issues." Rian replied.

"Now Selena... How much do you know about Ambrosia?" Interviewer asked.

Selena smiled.

"Since meeting Rian, I have learned a lot and Ambrosia and it's people. Also, since starting our relationship, I have studied the history and rules of Ambrosia. Rian has been very hands on preparing me for new role as his wife." Selena explained.

"Has anyone in Arian's family welcomed you or given you any advice?" Interviewer asked.

"Yes, everyone has been so welcoming since we started dating. You know I've gained another loving family that I can go to with any questions or concerns. Any advice that anybody could give me, I would gladly listen to and accept." Selena said.

"Now, the most important thing everyone wants to know, what will be Selena's title and what will become of her career?" Interviewer asked.

Rian nodded.

"Foremost, I am delighted that Selena has agreed to marry me. We are both very excited about the next stage of our lives together. Selen will assume the title of Queen of Ambrosia. As for her career, we have talked and I believe that she shouldn't have to give up everything to be with me so we've decided that she keep her career and do her duties as the wife of a monarch." Rian explained.

"How do you feel about this, Selena?" Interviewer asked.

"Rian and I have discussed this since before we got engaged and we're working on making a great plan for me as the spouse of the monarch but also as a working woman." Selena answered.

"What about children? Do you have any plans in that direction?" Interviewer asked.

"Let us get married first then we'll see about children." Selena answered.

"Of course, we would also like to have our own family. But that's yet to come; let's start with the marriage." Rian added.

The Ambrosian Royal Family with Careers

Since Selena Gomez announced her engagement to His Majesty King Rian of Ambrosia, the world has been talking about the hottest and youngest king in the world

King Rian ascended the throne when his mother abdicated in January 2007 due to a serious health illness, making a barely twenty year old Rian, the youngest king in Ambrosian history and the world.

With all the attention around Britain's drama, you'd think the U.K. had a monopoly on monarchs -- infant or otherwise. One thing that makes Ambrosia stands out from the Britain's royal family is that almost everyone in the royal family has a career.

Ambrosia is an absolute monarchy, which makes Rian, the king and head of government. He also he rules the oil-rich nation. He is Vice Chairman of Ambrosia operations of the family-owned international conglomerate business De Conto Group. It has distribution rights to Toyota vehicles in Saudi Arabia and other countries. Rian is also involved in philanthropy work promoting health and safety, and assisting job-seekers and those in need, in Ambrosia.

Here are other royal members that have a career but also work as senior royal member of the house of De Conto.

Rian's sister, Princess Myra (8 May 1989) is currently the heir of the throne until Rian has children, is an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynaecology and a Board Member at Princess Wilhelmina Memorial Hospital and who was probably the inspiration for Paige Morgan of The Prince & Me.

Rian's younger brother, Prince Antonius (2 August 1991) is currently second in line to the throne, professional motorcycle racer, and president of the diversified international business De Conto Group.

Rian's youngest sister, Princess Gabrielle (4 November 1993) is currently third in line to the throne and is an art critic and curator and she owns an extensive art collection, much of which is displayed for the public at the National Museum of Ambrosia in Los Calormen.

Rian's father, Prince Hubertus (6 October 1956) is chairman of the diversified international business De Conto Group.

And Rian's mother, Queen Annalise (13 June 1956) owns LGT banking group and has a family fortune of $US28.7 billion and a personal fortune of about $US12.8 billion, making her one of the world's richest heads of state, and Europe's wealthiest monarch.

Now adding the soon to be member of the royal family, Selena Gomez, who is a businesswoman, singer, actress, and producer.
