Chapter 38: Clara

I'm back! Sorry about the delay but here it is! Almost done!  I'm crossing my fingers this chapter goes well. -😈

If only our luck was any good. But, just like my parents, our luck had run out. The king, my uncle, I suppose, is there, with his sentinels leading the way, wielding weapon and powers untold.

I try to teleport somewhere else as they approach, but I'm too weak. The silent stone cells clearly have done a number on me.

As I look to my side, the princes and princesses stand still, cold, and shocked. Understandable, as it is the first time facing their father after learning what he has done.

If I met my parents now, what would I do? Scream? Cry? Sob? Hug them? I don't know.

These are last moment thoughts, the thoughts before death. I know this is the end, for me, if not the royals.

But I know I will go down fighting, like my mother and father and so many others before me. All I need is a weapon, and I can stand half a chance. Before I can think more, the sentinels attack. Swifts chase after me. Others advance with swords. I dash and dodge, gasping when a sword almost strikes my head.

As I dodge them, I realize they aren't using their powers, although they could. They underestimate me. They think I'm weak. Okay then, let's play to that weakness.

I immediately zero in a skin healer, aware that a touch from them could provide the strength I need. To my dismay, the only skin healer there is beside the king, who is hiding behind his sentinels in the back. Suddenly, I hear a sword coming towards my neck. It is blocked by another sword, clanging.

"Have a plan?" Hestia smiles, now dueling the sentinel. I nod. She dodges, turning to face me quickly. "Good. Get to Sammy, he can help get you to El." I run off as she keeps fighting the banshee.

I spot Samson fighting beside Zeus, using their powers without hesitation. Crimson lightning and deep blue flames burst from their hands, keeping everyone back. The sentinels press forward, not caring for the crown prince or their safety. I wave to them, and Zeus nods as Samson points to Elara, battling a wind weaver.

Her navy blue lightning strikes without mercy, leaving marks on the dazed sentinels.

"Can you clear the way?" I shout to her. She nods, and forces the sentinels aside, creating a lightning shield around me. She sends me foward and I run toward the skin healer. The shield falls down and the skin healer brushes my arm.

I smirk and teleport back to fighting. We fight in teams and all alone. We never cease fighting and the sentinels keep coming. It's okay though. I'm ready to die.

Suddenly a flash of purple light appears and everyone freezes and turns to it.

"A battle without me?"
