Chapter 33: Zeus

Hey there guys! Apologies if some characters seem to out of character. I am taking many creative liberties and also guessing what an alternate future would possibly be. Anyway, enjoy the story!-😈

The second we get upstairs El takes hold of the situation and stands in front of us.

"My room. Now." We all obey her, going directly to her room. "Now, the vision. Clearly it wants us to something that stops this life we have. But why? And more importantly how?" Before we can start to brainstorm ideas, we hear an sudden arguement on the stairs. All of us run to the door, listening close to the conversation at hand. We hear a voice.

"What's your excuse this time?" Is that mother? What's going on? Although where there's mother there's....

"I said I was sorry Mare. I tried!" Of course. That's Father. We exchange looks like, not again and here we go.

"It doesn't matter about your mother, she may be tormenting you but that's no excuse to torment me."

"But Mare-"

"Enough with the excuses. It might be her fault, but you need reign her in."

"Mare. You and I both know what she's like. She messed with my emotions until they are out of control around you. And any emotion I happen to feel, as you well know," he says dropping to a whisper, so we lean closer to the door, "becomes amplified and focused on you, no matter how far away from you it may seem. You know that."

"I know enough about you to know you could have controlled her in there. Much better than you ever could around here. Now leave me be."

"Where are you going?"

"To my room. Or should I say, cage," I hear her snarl. She begins to storm off throughout the hallways.

"You can visit Julian."

I hear the footsteps come to a sudden stop. "What?"

"And the rest. We can go tonight." I feel fathers offer hang on the air.

"Thank you," mother says begrudgingly, and trying to keep the emotion out of her voice. "But I'm still going to MY room."

"Fine Mare," I hear him sigh and turn the opposite way before stopping. "I do love you darling."

"That's what you always say," I hear mother mutter before she is well and truly gone.

"And I always mean it," he says softly, to himself. Then I hear his footsteps fade away and we finally talk.

"Well. I see we now have more information to discuss," El says, cheerfully getting her notebook and starting to record everything that just happened. Something tells me this is gonna be one heck of a ride.
