Chapter 29: Clara

Sorry it's been awhile, and it's kinda short but enjoy guys!

The sentinels have no mercy. They drag me across the cold marble floors of the hallways of Whitefire, to the throne room. But we go past the thrones and go to the rooms behind the thrones. I have a sharp intake of breath, as  I feel cold sensation of silent stone. I quickly realize why, when the sentinels drag me into a room that should have been the queen's private chambers, but instead is a tomb of silent stone. Silently, the sentinels force a pair of cuffs on me and shove me into the room.

"The King will speak with you when he sees it fit," a low voice rasps from underneath the mask that glowed with a sickly hue in the light of silent stone. And with that, the door slams shut and I hear a lock click shut. Minutes pass like hours, the stifling of the stone unbearable. I take short breaths, fearing each one will be my last. The sun or moon causes the sliver blood to have an unearthly glow. I try to distract myself, but can't make it halfway across the room without getting winded. My body collapses in exhaustion and I slump against the wall, asleep.

In what only feels like a moment later, I hear voices outside. I strain my ear to hear them.

"Please don't. You know I can't," I hear a voice whisper, terrified.

"It doesn't matter. You must," another voice hisses back.

"Fine. Your majesty," the voice responds sarcastically. The queen? And the king.

"Mother? Father? Are we late?" Elara's voice says.

"I told her we'd be fine," Samson responds.

"No thanks to you," Hestia jokes.

"You're all fine," the king responds. "Now, lets go inside." The lock clicks and the sudden light blinds me as I go to shield my eyes. The king, queen, princes, and princesses enter. Attempt to question me they will. But the king won't find it as easy as he thinks it may be.
