Chapter Seven: Warrior's Power
Aurora's POV:
It's been about a year since we arrived at Ashden's castle. The training has been better since that day Ashden and Asha fell it seems like only yesterday but it was months ago.
"Aurora come on try one more time then we'll stop for today."
Ashden has been trying to get me to use my powers more but they don't work well apart from the time I saved Asha and Ashden.
"Why won't they work!"
I was getting frustrated, why can't I do this. It's hopeless, this is just a waste of time if I can't do it.
I felt arms around me but Ashden was still in front of me.
"Just calm down little one, you'll get it okay. Hey look it took me and Arden time to learn well Arden more so than me but you'll get it. Everything takes time you have to find the core of your power. It's the core that give warrior's power."
The core? I hugged Asha back but his words echoed in my head what has a core got to do with power.
"What are your cores?"
Asha chuckled as he let me out of our hug and turned me back so I was facing the target and Ashden.
"Your core is what's inside, you have to feel it. Your core is your strength, it sparks the power inside of you."
I looked at Ashden and she had a fire ball in her hand.
"Ashden's power flows through her nobility, she is noble. She channels that, it's her core that turns into something else like bravery and that turns into the flame."
Ashden flame slowly extinguished and Arden stood next to her.
"Arden's power flows through her kindness, she's too kind for her own good sometimes but despite her thick skin she channels her kindness it's her core."
In Arden's hand was a plant it had just grown out of her hand.
"What about you Asha what's your core? Are all cores different or are some the same?"
Arden's placed the plant down on the ground and it slowly disappear. Asha placed his hand on mine and raised it to up so my hand was in the direction of the target.
"Everyone has a different core little one, you just have to find yours. My core was difficult to find I couldn't tell if it was anger, pain or fear but it was neither my core was special. Many people only one core that defines them but I have two. My power flows through loyalty and passion, I channels them their my core."
I tilted my head to see Asha's face, he looked me in the eye as he sent an ice ball into the centre of the target.
"See, now we just need to find your core."
He whispered in my ear before moving away and walking back to the stairs. He is so mysterious, one minute he hated my guts and the next.
"How will I know what my core is?"
I called back to him but he was gone. I huffed in frustration before looking at Ashden and Arden who had smirks on there faces.
"Little Wolf your blushing."
I looked down as I heard Ashden and Arden chuckle. I rolled my eyes before focusing on the target.
"When have you used your powers?"
I took a deep breath upon hearing Asha and thought about the times I used my powers each time it was to save someone.
"Focus on those moments what you felt when you used your powers, what was the core thing that was flowing through you. Channel your power."
Asha's voice called from across the room. So I took a deep breath and let my mind wonder to those moments when my powers worked.
I closed my eyes and raised my hand up towards the target.
"You can do it little one you just needs to believe. Be the warrior you know you can be."
I heard a bang and my eyes flew open to see the target with a huge hole in the centre. Ashden looked impressed and Arden had a look of suprise and shock on her face.
"There you go. What do you feel?"
What do I feel, I don't even know what I feel. I don't even know how I did that I just did it.
"Love, Beauty and Light."
I looked up at Asha how can he just know what my core is when I don't even know it myself.
"How can you see what my core is?"
He just smirked and came to stand right in front of me. His hands found their way to my waist and mine found their way around his neck. His lips went to my ear and he whispered.
"Hold on tight."
I closed my eyes and when I opened them we were now on the roof of the tower. I looked out at the beautiful world around us and I felt Asha's arms around my waist.
"Asha how can you see what my core is?"
I whispered with my head rested on his chest still admiring the view. I feel a connection with Asha unlike any other.
"I can see what others can not. I can see into people's souls and I can see their cores. Ashden says I can't show off this type of power to others because it's dangerous. But when I look into your eyes it's like I see the world differently."
I closed my eyes listening to the sounds around me focusing on his words. Feeling the light of the sunset on my face brought me peace.
"Aurora, we have to get back Ashden and Arden will wonder where we are and I don't want them sending a hunting party to come find us. Hold on tight little one."
I closed my eyes again and held Asha tight he's a lot faster than Ashden but I like how fast he is.
When I opened my eyes we were in the war room, Ashden and Arden were looking at a map. Asha placed me down on the floor and looked from me to Ashden.
"What are you doing?"
Ashden and Arden snapped there heads in our direction. Arden had a smirk on her face and Ashden had a blank expression.
"It's time we deal with Kanitro."
