Chapter 34

I slightly opened my eyes to notice that Alexander's side of the bed is empty. He decided to leave early.

The feeling of sadness and emptiness I started to feel. I could have stopped him but that would be selfish. He is a general he must lead the battle. Furthermore, If I stop him doing his duties his reputation will be ruined.

I looked at the clock that was behind me and it's was five minutes before I needed to wake up. I need to start my duties no matter what.

I got up and went to take a shower after I got out of the shower the maids was already waiting for me. They helped me to get ready.

My first duty was to check and supervise the main military hospital.

There are tent hospitals on the frontlines, but if the soldiers need major surgery, he will teleport to the main hospital. If the surgery isn't serious then the soldier will be simply transported by the long carriage and enter the main military hospital so the soldier can peacefully heal.

I did the ward rounds since most of the doctors are focused on the operation rooms doing surgeries.

I was checking up on the patients and check their wounds to see if they are healing properly. The soldiers were surprised to see me in the hospital.

"I never thought in my life that, I will manage to get this close to the Queen." the soldier blurted and I simply chuckled.

"I simply doing my duties as a Queen." I gently replied as I checked his sutures on his hand.

"The hand looks very good there are no signs of necrosis." I concluded after checking his hand.

"Previously the Queen would be either in the frontlines or in the castle during the wars." the patient continues rambling and I simply smiled.

"I'm here since I was previously thought to become a healer." I answered politely and the nurse who was standing next to me started bandaging the soldier's arm.

Before the soldier could speak again the junior doctor entered the ward frantically looking around. When he spotted me he quickly ran up to me.

"Your majesty, there is a soldier that is required an emergency surgery!" He was breathing heavily.

"Shouldn't you be informed that to the Chief Surgeon? Or Commander Sylvia at that point?" I asked the junior doctor.

"Every surgeon including the Chief Surgeon and Commander are busy with the surgeries." The junior doctor quickly answered.

Do we already lack surgeons? I predicted that we will lack surgeons at that point but I didn't expect it to be sooner. I frowned at this thought.

"Are you skilled in surgery?" I asked the junior doctor after I considered the next action.

"I've only started doing surgeries." the junior doctor answered hesitantly.

"Well, that's perfect. Let's go receive the patient you will be a chief surgeon in this surgery and I will be the first assistant." Then I turned to the nurse.

"Also please find a resident doctor for secondary and tertiary assistant If there any surgeons exits the operating room, led them to us. " I instructed the nurse.

The junior doctor was shocked at my decision.

"Your majesty, I'm not sure I can e-v." I interrupted the junior doctor before he can utter another word.

"We can't waste any more time. We must prolong the soldier's life before the experienced surgeon can replace you." I stated the fact and the junior doctor closed his mouth.

We left the wards and the nurse instantly informed us that the operating table is prepared and the soldier is now in the operating room.

We were led to the operating room by the nurse and then they helped to put on our scrubs when we arrived at the operating room. We sanitized our hands before putting on the gloves.

The other assistants were waiting for us next to the operating table, when we arrived we started looking for the wounds. The junior doctor made an incision to inspect the insides.

As I expected the soldier was bleeding internally.

"Aspirate and you start suturing the wound in the stomach." I gave orders. It was unusual for the first assistants to give orders but looking at the status outside of the operating room the other assistants and nurses understood that.

Luckily, before the junior doctor started suturing the stomach, the surgeon has arrived.

But unfortunately, there wasn't any available assistant so I stayed in the operating room as the second assistant and we continued with the surgery.

I came back to my room very tired and my temporary assistant Evan greeted me but before he can greet me I interrupted him.

"Evan, please ask Sylvia to prepare a report about today's received emergency and the work distribution about the doctors. I guess it's time to write a letter to Prince Consort Nathaniel." I asked my assistant and Evan nodded.

I sat on the couch and Evan placed the documents on the table.

"What's this?" I asked Evan.

"This is the new investigation report about the Faya Queen's missing daughter that you've asked. The new methods have been implemented into repeated investigation and this time we have a result." Evan explained.

A result?

I took the documents and started reading it. At first, I was shocked but then it's started to make sense.

Fae Valiente is the possible daughter of Queen Oriane and Queen Luna. Which is interesting because Fae Valiente spent six years being one of the Queen Oriane's deity.

Fae Valiente was never traveled to Ravendale as a newborn baby, instead, the kidnappers settled in the town that is bordering Ravendale. That is why it's was difficult for her mothers to find her.

Deity is essentially a young girl becoming Queen Oriane's helpers to essentially boost their social status, they are like handmaidens for decoration.

Fae Valiente's temporal family wasn't exactly well off but deities are given way more resources that any commoner wished to receive, Fae didn't waste those resources to develop a career as a diplomat.

That also means Fae Valiente has been under Queen Oriane's nose for about eight years and the Queen never noticed.

Maybe because Fae Valiente evenly inherited both of her mother's features to the point that some features were mixed so it's was hard to find some similarities. Only Etria face biometry technology helped to detect relation to Fayan Queens.

"It's either Queen Oriane is planning something or she is truly unlucky." I muttered in amazement.

"Indeed, would like to hear a funny joke about this situation?" Evan offered.

"Let's hear it." I told him.

"It's a tradition that the deity that been serving for so long is being married off to the nobles of very high standing. Unfortunately for Queen Oriane, she married her daughter off to the general that most of the Faya's parliament hates." I chuckled at the joke.

It's was a cruel joke for the parliament that the Alongside Fae her wife will also become the Queen that parliament is unsupportive off. Depending on their relationship Fae's wife can either become the Queen or will be divorced.

In conclusion, there is no way Queen Oriane was hiding her daughter to start a war.

Well the enemy's bad luck, became our advantage.

"Is Fae Valiente still in Ravendale?" I asked Evan.

"Yes, she is confined in Ravendale." Evan affirmed.

"Well, that's perfect! Make additional blood DNA test with all of possible Fae's relatives that are in Ravendale. Also, contact the spies in Faya!" I instructed Evan.

Here is chapter 34 , I hope you guys enjoyed reading the chapter.

Another reason why Annabelle didn't waste her years in Etria. Not only she is has knowledge of Etrian medicine, she also knows the technologies that Etria has that she could have have advantage off.

I also enjoyed building the Fae's  background story, it can totally become another book.
