Chapter 26

I sat so I was straddling Damien's waist, both of our bodies covered in a layer of sweat. I lost count of how many times we went at it, but I knew that I could never have enough of him. Each time was just as good as the first, perhaps even better each time.

My lips hovered over his, our harsh breaths mixing together. My chest was heaving along with his, our heartbeats beating in sync.

I kissed his jaw and down his neck, one place stuck in my mind. I was going to do it. I was going to mark him and make him mine forever. Claim him as my own so every other female knows that he is my man.

My hand gripped the side of his neck and tilted his chin up using my thumb in order to give me more access to his neck. I heard him inhale sharply before his hands cupped the round globes of my ass tightly.

I felt my teeth elongate to their full length. I grazed them against the smooth skin of his neck, eliciting a small growl from the back of his throat.

I pressed my lips against the area I was supposed to mark before allowing my teeth to sink into his soft skin.

He hissed, his back arching off the bed slightly as his hands went to my hair. His hands tightened on my strands of hair.

Satisfied with myself, I pressed my lips to the mark once more. Damien's body slackened and I felt him slump against me, no longer tense. I pulled away from his neck to so I could see his face.

Damien looked up at me, his eyes full of bliss as he pulled me down next to him. His arms snaked around my waist as we continued staring at each other.

The smile never left his face as he continued to watch me under hooded eyes, his eyelashes almost touching his cheeks. I could stared at him all day and never get bored.

His fingers traced patterns against the bare skin of my lower back. I felt blissful as I moved to tuck my head under his chest, breathing in his strong scent. Before I knew it, my eyes were closing and soon I was drifting off into a deep slumber.

"Ew, that's so gross. Colton you're disgusting."

I heard a voices in the kitchen as I neared. I didn't bother trying to fix my appearance as I rounded the corner into the kitchen.

I was greeted with the sight of Juniper scrunching up her nose, and Colton standing next to the fridge with a carton of milk in his hands.

They both stopped to look at me when they heard me enter. I didn't miss the looks on their faces as they took in my appearance.

Colton immediately wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. I rolled my eyes at him as I nudged him away from the fridge so I could get in it.

"So...How was it?"

I knew it was Juniper who asked. I couldn't help but smile to myself. The answer to her question, to put it simple, would be amazing. I could already tell that it was going to be happening often.

I pulled out a carton of eggs and sat it on the counter. Juniper took in the smile on my face and laughed.

She took a seat at the counter as I pulled out a frying and cracked the eggs onto it, dumping the empty egg shells into the sink. I started making scrambled eggs, adding in cheese, salt, and other ingredients.

A couple minutes later, Damien walked into the kitchen, sweat pants hanging deliciously low on his hips. His dark hair was messy and his torso was bare for me to see. I instantly forgot that both Colton and Juniper were in here as I shamelessly oggled my mate.

He came up behind me and snaked an arm around my waist, pressing a kiss against my neck.

"Good morning, beautiful," he murmured against my skin.

I smiled at him, "Good morning."

He then glared at the two watching us with amused looks. "Why are you two here?"

They both gave a sheepish look before starting to bicker.

I rolled my eyes and went back to my eggs. When I was done, I got out two plates and scooped some on a plate for and one for Damien along with some toast.

When I handed it to Damien, he raised an eyebrow.

"What?" I asked, not really understanding the look he was giving me.

"I thought you said you couldn't cook," he said jokingly, a smile playing on his lips.

"Well if you don't want it, I'll take it and eat it myself," I shrugged, pulling the plate away from him. He immediately reached out and snatched the plate away from me.

"Woman, don't you go taking my food. It'll end badly for you," he teased as he picked up a fork to take a bite of the eggs. Immediately his nose scrunched up.

"What's wrong? You don't like it?" How could I screw up scrambled eggs? It wasn't even hard to make...

"N-No, it tastes, uh, good," he stuttered, sucking in his lips to keep himself from laughing. I shot him a glare.

"Shut up," I snapped, crossing my arms under my chest.

He picked up both of our plates and dumped out my sad excuse for scrambled eggs. "Let me do it," he offered.

I took a seat next to Juniper at the counter and I watched my mate perfect the art of making scrambled eggs. I couldn't help but stare and watch the way his muscles worked as he cooked. It was absolutely mesmerizing.

"Take a picture, it lasts longer," Juniper commented from next to me, a knowing look on her face.

I scoffed at that. "Why would I need a picture of my mate to stare at when I have the real thing?"

Damien's lips tilted up in a small smirk at my words. He didn't look up from the pan on the stove but he was obviously listening to our conversation.

I looked away from him and tuned into Juniper and Colton's conversation, or should I say argument.

A few minutes later a plate was put in front of me. It smelled delicious and I couldn't stop the grin growing on my face.

"Thank you."

He nodded but then glared at his friends. "Get out," he snapped at them.

They didn't even glance at him as they continued arguing. Damien looked annoyed at their response, or lack there of.

"I said get out," his voice raised a bit. That caught their attention. Juniper raised an eyebrow at him.

"Why?" They both said in unison.

The intensity of his glare didn't lessen. It was as if unsaid words were being exchanged.

"Fine, we'll leave. But only because you deserve alone time with your mate," Colton said, sending a wink my way.

Both Juniper and Colton got up, leaving the kitchen. Damien exhaled loudly when we heard the sound of the front door opening and closing.

I looked up from my plate to find him staring at me.

"What?" I asked raising an eyebrow. Was there something on my face?

He shook his head. "Nothing," he murmured.

He picked up a plate for himself and took a seat next to me at the counter. We ate in silence, while my head wondered to what happened the previous night. Our bond was complete and he was officially mine, and I was his.

The attraction between us was strong. The bond between us was strong. I could feel what he was feeling, and I'm sure he could feel what I was feeling.

My wolf was happy and so was his. Everything seemed so perfect.

"What are you thinking about?" Damien asked me after he finished chewing.

"Us," I replied.

He raised an eyebrow, as if asking me to elaborate.

I just shrugged my shoulders and offered him a smile, before stuffing my face with eggs. Damien's lips tilted up in a small smile while shaking his head.

  •   •

I walked out of Damien's bathroom, a towel wrapped around my body. Damien was in his office taking care of business.

The cool air of his bedroom hit my skin, causing goosebumps to rise on my skin. The room seemed unusually breezy as I walked over to his dresser. I pulled out one of his black T-shirts before quickly heading back into the bathroom.

After drying myself off, I pulled on the shirt and a pair of underwear. I put my hair up in a messy bun before putting on some lotion. When I was finished I walked out of the bathroom. I froze when I noticed someone laying down on Damien's bed.

Or should I say, a certain Vampire.

"What do you want?" I snapped at him, placing my hands on my hips.

"What? No hi how are you?" He asked, his lips quirking up in a teasing smile.

I glared at him. "No."

"Ouch."

"What do you want?" I repeated, not feeling like dealing with his bullshit.

The Vampire rolled his eyes at my tone. He sat up so he was sitting on the edge of the bed. "I heard that you are able to communicate with the Moon Goddess now. Remember what I said last time I came?"

I narrowed my eyes at him. How the hell did he know that?

"I can read your mind," the vampire informed me.

Well shit.

"Why do you think the Moon Goddess will help you?" I asked, remembering what Cyrus commenting about how there is a reason Vampires can't be exposed to the sun.

"I have my ways."

I really didn't want to know what he had planned.

"Now you're going to do as I say, or there will be consequences," he said almost nonchalantly as he looked around the room.

I still stood there, my eyes narrowed at the Vampire. I obviously didn't want to help him, because I didn't like the idea of Vampires walking around in daylight. Vampires and Werewolves don't get along well with each other.

But I knew that I had to help him because of the consequences. Vampires were manipulative and seemed to always get their way, no matter what they had to do to get there.

"What happens if she doesn't want to help you?" I asked, taking a seat on one of the chairs facing the TV hanging on the wall.

The Vampire kept his face neutral but I noticed the spark in his eyes. "Well, let's just hope it doesn't come to that."

I clenched my jaw and swallowed my nervousness. There was a pretty good chance that the Moon Goddess wasn't going to help him.

  •   •

"I'm sorry Liana, but you know I can't do that," the Moon Goddess's melodic voice filled the quietness of the room we were in. The walls and the floor were all white as well as the chairs we sat.

"Why not?" I pressed. I didn't want to find out what the Vampire would do if I didn't get the Moon Goddess on his side.

"I can't destroy the balance between Werewolves and Vampires. The methods behind my actions all have an important purpose. One small change could put the whole world in danger."

I looked down at my hands. She was right. The Vampire probably already knew what the outcomes could be, but he didn't care. Power could definitely blind someone from what was really important.

"You're right," I said. "But what do I do about the Vampire?"

"You're stronger than any other being. You may not have realized the extent of your power yet, but I know what you are capable of. Show him what you can do," she said, her lips tilting up in an elegant smile.

Why couldn't she just tell me specifically what to do?

I nodded my head, offering her a smile. Suddenly everything around me faded away and soon I found myself in a dark room. I wasn't in Damien's room anymore.

What the fuck?

The floor was cold beneath my bare feet. The walls were dusty and dark. Where the hell was I? How come I can never catch a break?

I felt around for a door. When I felt the doorknob, I tried to open it, but it was locked. I gripped the knob tightly in my hand and broke it off. The door creaked open and I peaked out.

I squinted as my eyes adjusted to the artificial light lighting up the dark hallway. The hallway was empty. I noticed that cells lined the place, each filled with different creatures. I could smell the different scents, all of it overwhelming my nose.

I heard the different cries and pleads. I walked past a cell that had a little girl in it. She sat in the corner crying, her hands rubbing her eyes. I walked up to it.

"Excuse me?" I called out to her. She removed her hands from her eyes. I felt my heart clench at the sight of her tear filled eyes. Her fiery-red eyes gave away what kind of creature she really was. "Why are you here?" I asked softly.

"They captured me," she whispered before sniffling, "They killed my parents too."

I felt my blood start to boil with anger. "Who?"

"Vampires."

Without even thinking, I gripped the lock on her cell door and yanked it off. I then pushed the door open and scooped up the little girl into my arms. She buried her face into my shoulder as I quickly exited the cell. I tried to teleport us out of here, but it wasn't working. They must've injected me with wolfsbane to keep me from using my powers, however I still had some of my strength.

The whole place gave me an eerie feeling as I tried to search for the exit. I didn't know where I was going, but that didn't stop me. I was determined.

I snuck past a couple guards before finding a set of stairs leading up. At the top of the stairs was a door. I opened it quietly and peeked out. I was greeted by the sight of a larger hallway. The ceiling was high and the walls were cream-colored with giant paintings hanging on the wall. I didn't have time to admire anything, because a voice caused me to freeze.
"Where do you think you're going?"

I slowly turned around to see the Vampire from before leaning against the wall. His lips were tilted up in a lazy smirk as he eyed me.

"Away from you," I retorted. I held the little girl closer to me as his eyes moved to her.

His eyes held amusement while he shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "Sorry, but I can't let you do that."

I narrowed my eyes at him. "Why the hell not? I already did what you asked."

He shrugged his shoulders, "I knew she wasn't going to do it. That's why it wasn't part of my whole plan."

I frowned. What did he mean that it wasn't part of his whole plan. There's more to it?

"My plan is really to get revenge on your mate," he said, a devilish glint in his eyes as he started walking towards me. "By taking his mate from him."

Finally got in an update. Sorry that it's been a long time. I've been pretty busy lately. I'm currently in California visiting family. I'm going back home tonight.

This chapter is unedited so there's probably tons of mistakes.

I hope those of you who are on summer break are having a good time.

Until the next update,
-Kira
