chapter eleven.

CHAPTER ELEVEN  —
( Calling out my old name, she says, 'Hey, do you remember me too?' )

────────────────

Luna chose not to accompany Emma and Regina to the hospital. Instead, she went to the school bus stop to meet her daughter, Daisy. She wanted to witness the moment when the curse would be lifted, and she eagerly anticipated seeing her daughter's radiant smile as she recollected their shared memories and adventures in the Enchanted Forest.

Luna's foot tapped nervously at the bus stop as she anxiously awaited the bus's arrival. As the vehicle turned the corner and approached the stop, a wave of overwhelming emotions swept over Luna, causing her to take a step back. She furrowed her brow and glanced around, trying to clear her mind as a flood of memories from her time in the Enchanted Forest and the surrounding kingdoms came rushing back to her. She vividly recalled moments spent with her mother, her training in magic and combat under Rumplestiltskin's guidance, the hatching of her three baby dragons, her efforts to protect the forest from Regina and her knights, her interactions with Snow White and her companions, the loss of her eldest dragon, and, most notably, her cherished years with Captain Killian Jones.

Luna's eyes widened as a wave of memories washed over her, and she saw her precious Daisy running towards her with a bright smile. "Mommy," she said excitedly, "I remember everything! I'm your dragon, Kayda! Do you recognise me?"

Luna couldn't help but let out a heartfelt laugh as tears filled her eyes. She held her arms out just as Daisy rushed into her arms for a warm embrace. "I know, sweetheart. I know you're my little baby, Kayda! I recognise you, my little dragon!" Luna said, her voice filled with emotion. As she held her daughter's face, they both shed tears. Luna added with a smile, "And you're human!"

"Yes, mommy. I'm human!" Daisy confirmed, her own laughter mingling with Luna's before they embraced each other again.

"Mama?" A quiet voice behind Luna said.

Luna spun around, only to find herself locking eyes with Aella. "Dratini!" Daisy squealed, darting toward her older sister to hug her tightly.

"Kayda!" Aella exclaimed with a beaming smile before letting out a light chuckle as she cupped her face. "Just look at you! You've grown so much!"

Softly, Luna uttered the name "Dratini.'"

Upon hearing her name, Aella's gaze lifted, locking with her mother's. "Mama," she whispered, prompting both women to rush into each other's arms, embracing tightly. Laughter bubbled between them as they pulled away.

Luna beamed, tears streaming down her cheeks. "My beautiful girl, just look at you," she said. "You're as stunning now as you were when you were a dragon." Daisy joined in the embrace, and the trio laughed and held each other close. "I love you both more than you could possibly know.

"I love you too, mama."

"I love you, too, Mommy."

Luna laughed softly and then nonchalantly shrugged at the two of them. "We Edwards women, huh? Such dragons we are."

Aella's face lit up with a wide grin. "Who knew how true that'd be."

A sudden rumble jolted the girls, causing them to look around in alarm. Emerging from the tree line, a swirling mass of purple smoke advanced towards the town and the startled girls. "Mommy, what is that?" Daisy asked, her voice trembling with fear.

Luna gazed intently at the approaching smoke and instinctively drew the girls closer to her. "We're about to find out," she said, her voice steady but uneasy. As the swirling smoke inched closer, Luna enveloped the two girls in a protective embrace and closed her eyes just in time for the smoke to engulf them.

Cordelia stood in Killian Jones' chambers, clutching her last remaining dragon egg in a woven basket. The iridescent shell of the egg shimmered and pulsed with a brilliant yellow light, casting an ethereal glow in the dimly lit room. Cordelia's heart raced with anticipation as she knew what it meant. Suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps signalled Killian's arrival as he burst into his chambers to witness the momentous event. Cordelia, love, are you alright? I heard it was an emergency!" He said quickly, panic across his face.

"Yes!" Cordelia said before turning around to grin at Killian. "The last egg is about to hatch!"

Killian exhaled heavily as he made his way over to her. "Is that it? The way Mr. Smee told me, I thought you were at death's door."

Cordelia let out a light laugh and leaned against the table. "Mr. Smee tends to exaggerate things." Killian advanced, cornering Cordelia against the table. Their chests pressed together, and their faces were so close that their breaths mingled. Cordelia gazed into Killian's eyes, which resembled the ocean on a stormy day, and a small smile played on her lips. "Now, Killian?"

Killian flashed Cordelia his signature, devilishly charming smile that had conquered the hearts of countless women before her, compelling them to comply with his every wish. "Yes, Princess?" he murmured, their lips barely grazing each other.

Cordelia gazed at his lips, then locked eyes with him, causing the man's smile to grow wider. "I'd prefer the first sight this dragon sees not be its mother kissing a man," she teased with a smile. "So move back, and let's witness this moment. This is my last baby, and I don't want to miss its birth."

Killian's grin widened as he ran his tongue over his lower lip and stepped back from Cordelia. "Cordelia, love, one day I will have the pleasure of tasting those beautiful lips of yours."

Cordelia couldn't help but grin. "I'm counting on it." She turned to face the egg, watching intently as it began to crack. "It's happening. Boy or girl?"

Standing beside her, Killian chimed in with a mischievous tone, "If I guess it right, can I get a kiss?"

Cordelia chuckled softly. "Of course, Lieutenant, anything you want," she said with a playful smile. "And if I get it right, I get to sleep in your bed while you bunk with the rest of your crew for a whole week."

Arching an eyebrow, Killian replied, "But you already sleep in my chambers."

Cordelia grinned and nodded toward the emerging creature. "But not in your queen-sized bed. Boy or girl?"

Killian fixed his gaze on the egg as a tiny head poked through the crack. "Boy."

After the smoke settled, the girls cautiously opened their eyes and surveyed their surroundings. To their disappointment, nothing had changed; they were not in the Enchanted Forest. "Names, please, ladies," Luna requested.

"I go by Dratini or Aella," Aella replied.

"I'm known as Kayda or Daisy," Daisy informed her mother. "And what about you, Mommy?"

"Cordelia," she answered. "But here, I'm known as Luna."

"What was that?" Aella asked.

"That, darling, was pure magic," Luna replied as she felt power surge through her body. "Rumplestiltskin has brought magic to town using a True Love potion made from Snow White and Prince Charming's hair. I can sense it in the air."

"Let's look around," Aella suggested, and the three girls ventured onto Storybrooke's Main Street.

"Cordelia?" A sweet, familiar voice called out.

Luna turned around and spotted Snow and David standing close together, their fingers intertwined. Luna's face lit up with an excited smile as she quickened her pace to greet the pair. "Snow!" Luna exclaimed as she wrapped her in a warm embrace, the air filled with their laughter. After parting from Snow, Luna turned to David and drew him into a heartfelt hug.

"Where are your dragons? Did they make it?" Mary Margaret asked.

Luna flashed a wide smile and pivoted, pointing towards Aella and Daisy, who were strolling towards the group hand in hand. "Meet Aella and Daisy, or as we call them in our world, Dratini and Kayda."

Mary Margaret's eyes widened with astonishment. "Seriously?" she exclaimed, and upon receiving a confirming nod from Luna, she dashed over to the girls in pure delight. "You both! You're human!"

"I know! It's unbelievable!" Aella replied with a chuckle. "It seems like it was just yesterday when I was soaring through the air, defending your castle."

"And I was there for you when you were giving birth and then with the Prince," Daisy remarked with a smile.

Mary Margaret chuckled. "I'm incredibly grateful for everything, Kayda. But look at you now!" She exclaimed. "You were just a small dragon the last time I saw you!"

Daisy rolled her eyes. "I wasn't that small."

"Not as big as me, though," Aella said with a grin, playfully nudging Daisy with her elbow.

Red's eyes lit up as she called out to Snow and Cordelia. The two women eagerly nodded with grins on their faces. The three of them instantly found themselves locked in a warm group hug. Meanwhile, Ruby's gaze shifted to Dratini and Kayda, and she couldn't contain her surprise. "Dratini? Kayda? You're human!" With a joyful laugh, she pulled them both into a tight embrace. "We're no longer just animal buddies."

Cordelia's smile widened as she turned to Granny, enveloping her in a warm hug.

Leroy respectfully addressed Mary Margaret, "Your Highness?" As the seven dwarves stood before their Queen, Mary Margaret beamed at her loyal companions. They all bowed before sharing a heartwarming group hug. "The Curse, it's broken?"

"It would appear so," David said.

Ruby gestured around. "So what do we do now?"

"Now?" Mary Margaret grinned. "Now I find my daughter."

"So it's true."

The group turned around and saw Emma standing beside Henry. The small family shared hugs and tears when Henry said, "She broke the curse."

"She saved all of us," Mary Margaret said.

"Uh, then why are we still here?" Leroy asked.

David looked around. "That, my friend, is an excellent question."

"And what was that smoke?" Sneezy said before sneezing.

"And who did this?" Doc asked.

"It was magic," Luna told them. "It's everywhere. I can feel it. Rumplestiltskin did it."

"Cordelia," Leroy nodded and then pretended to bow. "Queen Cordelia."

Cordelia rolled her eyes and shoved his shoulder. "Shut it, Grumpy."

"It was magic," Mother Superior said, walking up to the group.

"Magic? In Storybrooke?" Henry asked. "But you're the Blue Fairy. Do something magical."

Mother Superior shook her head. "It's not quite that simple, Henry. No wand. No Fairy Dust. Matters are complicated now."

"Luna?" Henry asked.

Luna gazed at the assembled group, who, in turn, directed their attention towards her. Anxious, she nervously scratched her forearms. "Well, it's a bit different here," Luna acknowledged. "But I can try it if you'd like?" Henry eagerly nodded, and with a slow wave of her hand, a beautiful bouquet materialised in Snow's hands.

"That was magic!" Henry exclaimed.

Luna modestly smiled and shrugged when Archie, or Jiminy Cricket, quickly ran up to the group. "Come with me. I need your help. Dr Whale's whipped everyone into a frenzy. They're going to Regina's house. They're going to kill her!"

Leroy chuckled. "Great, let's watch."

Archie shook his head. "No. No, we cannot stoop to her level. No matter who she is or what she's done, killing her is wrong."

"He's right." Henry turned to Emma. "Please. She's still my mom."

Emma looked at Mary Margaret. "We have to stop them."

"If Cordelia and the Blue Fairy are right and magic is here, Regina could have her powers back. They could be marching into a slaughter." David and Mary Margaret shared a look before the group took off down the street.

Luna led Daisy, Aella, and Henry away from the chaotic scene, knowing they couldn't subject the young boy to seeing his mother facing the entire town. Daisy, who had developed a soft spot for the queen, also wanted to shield Henry from the confrontation. They sought refuge in Luna's apartment, gathering around the table, reminiscing about old times while eating the previous night's leftover roast beef.

The girls eagerly described the incredible world of the Enchanted Forest to Henry, revealing their true identities as dragons and people. Henry was astonished. "Wait, you two were dragons all this time?" he exclaimed, wide-eyed as he looked back and forth between Daisy and Aella.

The girls burst into laughter while Luna nodded in confirmation. "Yes, they were my dragons all along. Aella is Dratini, and Daisy is Kayda."

Turning to Daisy with shock and amusement, Henry exclaimed, "So that's why we never found you in the book! You were one of your mother's dragons all along!"

Daisy chuckled. "That's right, Henry. I've been a dragon all this time you've known me."

Luna gazed between her two daughters and reclined in her seat. "The Enchanted Forest was quite an experience," she began. "I encountered a mix of reactions from people. Some had heard about who raised me—Rumplestiltskin—and feared me. However, that didn't stop us from travelling and exploring different realms." Aella burst into laughter, prompting Luna to raise an eyebrow. "Pardon me, missy? What's so amusing?"

Aella shook her head. "Yeah, we travelled, accompanied by a certain pirate who took an extraordinary interest in Mom."

Surprised, Henry glanced between them. "A pirate? That's not in the book."

Luna fixed her gaze on Aella before turning to Henry. "Captain Hook isn't in the book. It's not like our whole lives are in the book."

"Well, what does it tell?" Aella asked.

"Your mother getting sold to Rumplestiltskin, a bit about magic and then her first dragon being hatched. After that, she'd make cameos in other characters' stories, saving people across the Enchanted Forest," Henry said.

Aella gasped. "My birth isn't in there? I feel insulted."

"Yeah, so it doesn't include these two being born and our travels with Hook," Luna said.

Henry raised his eyebrows. "I can't believe you knew Captain Hook."

Luna chuckled softly as she recalled the memories. "It's not something I usually talk about. Snow is the only one besides me who knows. We spent years traveling together, and he was there when Daisy—Kayda hatched."

Aella added, "They were definitely in love. The constant flirting and exchanged looks gave it away. Hook was always flirting with Mom, and although it irritated me and Ladon, Ladon didn't mind Hook's jokes most of the time because he liked him."

Daisy chimed in, "I really liked Hook! He was always kind to me!"

"After travelling with Killian for a few years, we travelled through the Enchanted Forest and saved as many people as possible," Luna told Henry. "Whoever was in danger, or whenever a friend needed help, we were always there. Some people feared us because that was the only way we could protect them, but most like us."

"Naturally, people were scared of dragons," Aella said. "I mean, we had large razor-sharp teeth and could breathe fire, and we ate people when mom let us."

"Aella!"

"What? It's true," Aella joked. "But we mostly ate pigs or sheep or cows."

"We protected the Kingdom, and we loved doing it."

Luna was alerted that a Wraith had come to Storybrooke and was trying to suck out Regina's soul. After a bit of thought and deliberation, Luna decided she'd go ahead and help look after Regina. She, unlike most, liked the woman, no matter who she was and what she did. When she cast the curse, she treated Daisy as if she were her own daughter and kept her family together. Luna couldn't be more thankful for her.

Sitting in Regina's office, she could feel the tension in the air. Regina took out Jefferson's hat, a mysterious object that supposedly had the power to transport people to different magical worlds. Memories of the madman, Jefferson, flashed through her mind; she had met him once, and his wild eyes and unpredictable behaviour left her unsettled. Just then, David and Mary Margaret walked into the room, each holding a broom with a look of determination. "Torches. For when it comes back," David shrugged. "I know it's old-fashioned, but so am I."

"So, how does it work?" Mary Margaret asked.

"It will open a portal to our land. All we have to do is send the Wraith in there," Regina explained.

Mary Margaret frowned. "I don't understand. I thought our land was gone."

"It is. But sending it to a place that no longer exists...Well, that's banishing it to oblivion."

Luna stood by and observed as David struggled to ignite the brooms, his attempts proving futile. After a few moments, she sighed and waved her hand, suddenly causing the brooms to burst into bright flames. David, visibly frustrated, glanced over at Luna, who was avoiding his gaze and feigning indifference to the now-illuminated torches. Meanwhile, Regina started to twirl the hat, and Luna rose to her feet just as the lights in the room began to flicker.

"Regina..." Emma warned.

Regina continued to try to spin the hat. "I'm trying."

The front doors burst open as the wraith came flying in. David and Mary Margaret fiercely waved their broomsticks, desperate to drive the wraith away from Regina. Meanwhile, Luna stood boldly before Emma and Regina, ready to defend them at all costs. With a swift motion, Mary Margaret set the railing ablaze with one of the torches, causing the wraith to recoil. However, the wraith retaliated by unleashing a powerful gust of wind that instantly extinguished the flames.

"It's not working!" Regina yelled out.

"Regina, just concentrate!" Luna yelled at her.

Regina scoffed. "Yeah, well, it's not working!"

Luna rolled her eyes in frustration and swiftly extended her hands, summoning blazing fireballs that surged forth and struck the wraith, eliciting a tortured howl. As the magical hat began to spin and conjure a portal, Luna deftly distanced herself to avoid being inadvertently pulled in. Determinedly, she conjured flames and directed them at the wraith, propelling it toward the hat and the awaiting portal. However, in a gripping turn of events, the wraith latched onto Emma's ankle and forcibly dragged her through the portal as well.

"I'm not losing her again!" Mary Margaret, without a second of hesitation, lept straight into the portal after Emma, and David went to jump in straight after but landed straight onto the floor of Regina's office.

Silence quickly enclosed the room and Luna looked around to take in who was still with them. Regina, David, the hat... No Mary Margaret or Emma. "They're gone," Luna called out.

"Where are they?" David asked Regina.

Regina shook her head. "I have no idea."

"Are they dead?" David asked, approaching Regina.

"Surely they're in the Enchanted Forest," Luna uneasily said.

Regina hesitated. "The curse, it destroyed all the lands—"

"I should've killed you myself!" David went to hit Regina, but she quickly pushed her hand out and shoved him against the wall with magic. Vines from the wallpaper wrapped themselves around David and began to choke him. Luna didn't hesitate to throw her hand out and push Regina against the wall beside David.

"Stop it! Both of you!" Luna snapped. "You are adults! And your wife and child and your son's birth mother are gone!" She looked between the two trapped against the wall and how they stared at her regretfully. "You don't need to like each other; there's so much to forgive, but you need to come together, if not for each other, then for Henry's sake." She dropped Regina, and David immediately fell as well. "Now kiss and make up."

Regina and David turned to each other and held their hands out. "Truce? For Henry's sake?" David asked.

Regina sighed and shook his hand. "Truce, but it doesn't mean I like you."

"Likewise."

Henry walked into the room with Ruby, looking around at everyone. "Mom, where's Emma? Where's my Mom?" he asked, walking up to Regina.

Regina bent down so that she was more Henry's height and that she could look up at her son. "Mary Margaret and Emma...They're gone. They fell through a portal. They're...Henry, I'm so sorry."

Henry quickly shook his head. "Are you really? But you wanted Emma and Snow gone! Are you sure you didn't just push them in?"

"I didn't, I would never," Regina quickly said. "I wouldn't break your heart like that."

"Henry, she's telling the truth," Luna told him. "Emma fell through, and Mary Margaret jumped in right after."

"Henry, I love you. I would never intentionally hurt you," Regina said.

Henry shook his head. "Then get Emma and Mary Margaret back, but until then, can you please leave me alone? I just found out you're the Evil Queen."

Regina sadly looked at him. "Where will you go?"

"With me," David told her, wrapping his arm around Henry's shoulders. "I'll look out for him while we figure out how to get them back."

Regina nodded with a sad smile. "I love you, Henry. So so much."

Henry nodded. "I love you, too, Mom." David led Henry out of the room, and Ruby followed behind them.

Luna sadly turned to Regina, seeing tears run down her face. "I'm sorry, Regina. He'll forgive you. You know he will," she told her, a small smile on her face.

Regina gripped Luna's biceps. "Can you make sure Henry's alright for me? Make sure he stays safe and doesn't hurt himself in the care of someone who's been a parent for all of five minutes?"

Luna nodded. "I will, Regina, and I doubt Daisy will ever leave his side. I promise."
