I am not sure if you guys follow Kpop news but recently quite big allegations against Kris Wu/ Wu Yifan have come up in the Chinese media. He is being accused of sexually assaulting younger girls as well as engaging in a lot of immoral acts. All of his victims range in the younger age group and if report is to be believed, some were minors too.

I am writing this post because as you know Yifan is a character in Queen. Even though his character here was written way before all these news came and isn't associated with the IRL person, I feel like I should clarify some things.

When I wrote this book, I had no idea regarding the allegations that had been going against him. Apparently he had been accused of this for some time but since I didn't follow Cpop, I had no idea. Right now the severity of these allegations has gotten intense. I was in a dilemma whether I should keep this book or delete since it mentions Yifan in such a pivotal role. For newer readers, I didn't want them to think I was purposely supporting him by including OT12 in the book.

At this point I am not discussing the scandal. I sympathize fully with the victims if the allegations are proven to be true. If so, I'd wish he really leave the industry and be punished for his crimes. I'll also be honest. A very tiny bit of me also wants to wait for the whole matter to unfold before I pick a firm side. It has been such a rampant thing in Kpop or Cpop where some idol is accused of something so big out of which only 40-50% is true and the rest is just either antis taking advantage of the situation or things getting manipulated because of translation issues.

Please don't think I am trying to defend him or anything. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SUPPORT HIM. Smoke is seen means there's gotta be a fire somewhere. He must have done some fucked up shit for allegations like these to surface. I JUST WANT TO WAIT TO COMMENT UNTIL I HAVE FULL CONTEXT OF THE STORY. I stand with the victims and will believe them even if they are proved false.

After much consideration I have decided not to delete the book. I have put in a lot of work in this story and the inclusion of  Yifan's character was because I wasn't aware of what he was being accused of.

I still would like to know your stance on this situation. If you guys want me to un publish because if you are re reading the book and his character makes you uncomfortable, I'll gladly do so. Reads and stuff don't matter to me. I would much rather prioritize reader sentiments over stats.

Conversely I could include a lengthy note at the start explaining new readers about this so they can make their own decision to continue or not.

It is seriously so upsetting when you read about your favorite idols being subject to such scandals. It makes me wonder whether at this point supporting kpop or cpop as an industry is worth it. People you least expect turn up to be so shitty. Especially Yifan because I always supported him despite his withdrawal from EXO. I cannot believe I went to watch his movie XXX at 7:am in the morning because I was so excited that he was going to be in it. (Actually I went for Deepika Padukone as well) but still.

This is exhausting.
