Chapter Twenty Four - End of the White Witch

Elizabeth, Peter, Oreius and the rest of the army took off at full speed towards Jadis's army. Elizabeth wanted to stay close to Peter throughout the battle so that she could make sure he was safe but knew that she had her own mission. She had to get to Jadis, she had to end her reign over half of Narnia.

Elizabeth watched as they neared the other side. As they grew closer and closer and the gap between the two armies lessened till there wasn't anything left. They collided. Elizabeth kept a tight grip on her horses saddle so she was dragged off. She moved her sword from side to side slaying down anyone and everyone in her path.

Everywhere around her both armies fought each other. Slowly Peter and Elizabeth separated as the battle continued. Elizabeth turned her horse around as she killed her enemy and faced Jadis who was far away from her. They made eye contact and she gave her a hard stare as Jadis moved her polar bears forward along with the rest of her army. She looked up hearing the phoenix cry out and watched as it came down making a firey line separating the two sides.

Her army cheered but it wasn't long until Jadis broke through the fire making the line disappear. Her horse moved around in anticipation and Elizabeth looked around quickly for Peter. Their eyes found each other at the same exact time and she nodded to him.

"Fall back!" Peter said and she took off in the opposite direction as he was trying to get to her entire army and spread the word.

"Fall back!" She yelled to everyone. "Go to the rocks! Fall back!" She yelled before kicking her horse and taking off towards the rocks herself. She then heard the horn being blown and relaxed knowing that was to warn everyone else. She watched as arrows from her people fly over her killing the enemy running behind her. It wasn't long until her horse collapsed and she was thrown off. She groaned and slowly stood up seeing her horse was dead with an arrow sticking out of it. She looked up seeing the archer now pointing his bow at Peter. "Peter!" She yelled out and he looked at her. His horse reared up blocking the arrow from Peter saving him. Peter fell off of his horse but he was alright. She turned her head seeing the White Witch, her sister, coming towards her.

"No! Fall back!" She heard Peter say and she turned around seeing Oreius and a rhino going straight past her.

"No! Don't!" She yelled after them but their simply ignored her and she closed her eyes for a moment looking down sighing knowing that Oreius would not live. She looked up seeing Oreius leaping across the polar bears and tried to fight her sister but with her sisters wand he had no chance, no one did. Her wand, Elizabeth's eyes widened in realization. Without her wand Elizabeth can fight her fair and square, without her wand she'll be easier to take down. "Peter!" She yelled turning her head to him and he looked at her. "Her wand! We have to destroy it! We have to destroy her wand!" She yelled at him and he looked at her nodding.

She went to go after her sister but Jadis's army seemed to realize what she was going to do and went to stop her. Soon she was surrounded and Peters eyes widened seeing what was happening and ran to her. He quickly did whatever he could and took some of her opponents away from her so she wasn't so over whelmed. He looked around as he fought noticing that Jadis's army was gaining the upper hand and his eyes widened in worry. He took down his opponent and looked at his brother.

"Ed!" Peter yelled at him and he looked at his older brother. "There are too many of them! Go! Get out of here! Get the girls and get them home!" Peter yelled before going back to a different opponent. Edmund watched as his brother and Elizabeth got surrounded again and Jadis was moving in. He knew he had to do something and remembered Elizabeth yelling to Peter that Jadis's wand needed to be destroyed.

"Come on, you heard him! Peter said to go!" Mr. Beaver told Edmund but he refused to leave.

"Peter's not King yet" He snapped leaving Mr. Beaver running up to the cliff and jumped down right besides the Witch. He lifted her sword and brought it down on the wand shattering it. Peter and Elizabeth looked up and at Jadis and Edmund their eyes widening. Jadis looked at Edmund her own eyes widening before she stabbed him with the broken wand.

"Edmund!" Elizabeth looked at Peter as Peter lost it. He killed his opponent quickly and tried to go to Jadis. Elizabeth's eyes widened as she watched Peter.

"Peter! Don't! Fall Back! It's not your fight!" She yelled to him but he ignored her completely. She tried to run to Peter and Jadis but every time she did one of her enemies went in front of her stopping her. Slowly she was making her way to Peter and Jadis. Soon she heard a roar and turned around quickly seeing Aslan. Her eyes widened and a smile grew across her face before she realized everyone was distracted by Aslan. She turned to Jadis to see her eyes were on Aslan as well and ran towards her.

"Impossible" She heard her sister whispering.

"Not probable, completely possible" Elizabeth said and she looked at her along with Peter. "Why don't you pick on someone your own age sister" She spat and Jadis smirked looking at her sister.

"Run along Peter, let the grown ups talk" Jadis said and Peter looked at Elizabeth who kept her eyes on Jadis before running towards Edmund protecting his fallen body. "Finally" She whispered. Elizabeth swirled her sword in her hand getting ready for the fight. "Tell our brothers I said hello when you see them" She said and attacked her younger sister.

Elizabeth ducked under the blade and went to stab Jadis but Jadis was quick to block it. They circled each other before Elizabeth attacked again raising her sword up slamming it down on her but Jadis blocked it again. Elizabeth didn't back down though she continued to attack at different angles but Jadis was able to block them all. Elizabeth backed her against the rock wall and when she attacked again Jadis moved to the side striking her arm creating a deep cut. Elizabeth cried out and moved away from her sister, though she was thankful that Jadis didn't injure her dominate arm.

Jadis attacked Elizabeth quickly, faster than Elizabeth had attacked her. Jadis, however, was surprised at how good Elizabeth was at swordsman ship. Even if she didn't want to admit it, she was nervous. The both of them were to caught up in the fight that they didn't realize that the war was over, Jadis had already lost. No they had waited long enough for this fight and no one dared get in the middle of it.

Penny and the Pevensie siblings, including a now healed Edmund, along with Aslan and Mr. Tumnus watched the fight between the two of them with extreme interest. Peter wanted to intervene plenty of times but knew better than to do so. Penny watched her two older sisters terrified of losing one of them. She still cared for Jadis, but she cared for Elizabeth more.

Elizabeth attacked Jadis again using a burst of energy to go at an extreme speed. Jadis struggled to keep up until Elizabeth disarmed her sword until all Jadis had was her broken wand that held no more power. The others watched interested and intensely as the battle continued to move along. Jadis looked at Elizabeth angry but also with acceptance as Elizabeth attacked again but without her sword, Jadis was nothing. Elizabeth easily pushed aside the broken wand and thrusted the sword through Jadis's cold, frozen heart.

"Death, is mercy compared to the pain I wanted you to go through" Elizabeth snapped as Jadis fell to the ground dead. Elizabeth looked at Aslan and he nodded his head to her letting her know all was done and all was well. She soon felt arms around her and knew it wasn't Peter because this person was smaller than him yet taller than Lucy. She also knew Susan and Edmund wouldn't go running to hug her, so who was hugging her? "Penny?" She gasped looking down at her younger sister. "Penny" She whispered not believing it. Penny pulled back slightly and smiled widely at Elizabeth looking into her eyes as Elizabeth placed her hand on her cheek.

"It's me" She whispered to her older sister. "I'm real, I'm right here" She said and Elizabeth couldn't help but cry and hold her as tightly as she could. Elizabeth laughed closing her eyes holding her sister afraid to let go.

"I thought I lost you forever" She whispered. "I thought you were gone" She added.

"I'm right here" Penny repeated. "I'm right here" They pulled away and Penny looked at her and smiled. "You age well for a 124 year old" Elizabeth laughed and Penny soon followed.
