Prologue
The room was silent except for the scribbling of Quasimodo's pen as he finished doing his homework.
"Finished" the boy told his guardian; Claude Frollo
The man collected the work and put it away so that he could correct it later.
"You're free to go and play" Claude told the boy
Quasimodo's face lit up and he quickly made his way to the door.
"But remember" Claude's voice called from behind him
"No going outside" Quasimodo muttered as he made his way to his favourite part of the whole house; the roof.
From the roof Quasimodo was able to see the whole village, he could see the children playing, the farmers working in the fields and people shopping.
Quasimodo sighed, he had never been down to the village. Claude Frollo would not let him as he was afraid that the children would make fun of Quasi. You see Quasimodo was quite different to the other children he was born with a severe hunchback and a wart that covered his eye and made him blind in one eye.
Quasimodo's mother was a homeless women who had sought refuge at the village church when she was about to give birth. She had died in childbirth leaving Quasi alone with no one to look after him.
Luckily the head priest; Claude Frollo took him in and raised him. Quasimodo loved Claude as he was the closest thing he had to family but sometimes he wished for more, for a friend.
Quasimodo sat on the roof until the sky grew dark and the stars appeared once again. Just as Quasi was about to go inside something magical happened, something Quasi had never witnessed before; a shooting star. Quasimodo quickly thought of a wish, something he had wished for a long time.
"I wish something new would happen, something exiting" Quasimodo wished
Soon the star passed leaving Quasimodo with swarms of thoughts and other wishes.
