Quartzkit woke up. Was there something I was meant to do? Oh well- Quartzkit stood up and saw a light brown she-cat with white speckles in her fur. Oh, that must be my mum! What was her name again? Oh yeah! She's Finchflower! "Good morning my kit! Why dont you go and get some prey from the prey pile?" Finchflower mewed. "Ok, i do feel a bit hungry!" Quartzkit started walking towards the prey pile and was about to grab some prey when a grey paw tripped her up, sending her tumbling into a pile of dust. As she struggled up, she heard laughter. She looked up to see a brown tabby kit and a black kit with grey paws standing infront of the prey pile. "Hey look, the runt is awake! Its already tripping over its own paws!" As the two kits laughed, Quartzkit spotted a small white kit with grey patches standing behind the other kits. "Thats really rude Halfkit, why are you being so mean?" The dark brown kit turned around and growled at the smaller kit standing behind them. "Shut up Dumbkit! You are just as useless as the runt! All you will ever be is a boring old medicine cat!" Quartzkit felt a wave of anger rush through her. "It seems like you are the dumb ones, you mouse brains!" As she finished saying those words, Halfkit, the brown tabby tom, spun around and flung her towards the camp wall. As Quartzkit landed, she felt all of the air go out of her. Oh mouse dung! I shouldn't have done that!

Quartzkit glared at the nursery wall. "But mum! They attacked me! I swear i didn't fight them!" Finchflower glanced over to the other side of the nursery where Suntail was nursing her kits. "You may not of meant it, but you really hurt Pebblekit. I want you to apologise." Quartzkit shook her head defiantly. "Why should I listen to you! I bet you're not even my real mum!" As soon as Quartzkit said that, Finchflower hissed angrily at her. "How dare you? I am your mum and you have to listen to me! Now until you apologise, you can sleep seprately from me and Thrushkit!" Quartzkit glared silently at Finchflower as she stalked off.
