Zayn's POV:
Axel let me take control sometime in the night.

Sky didn't wake up once which is an improvement but I think it's mostly due to me taking his pain away.

"Zayn? Can I come in?"

I drew my eyes away from Sky's sleeping body to the door. Will we ever get left alone for just one day.

"Come in Amy."

Sky snuggled up closer to me, hiding his face where his mark will go. I quickly suck in a breath, every time he does that I want to mark him.

"Zayn, I'm sorry about what happened yesterday. On the topic of yesterday, Sky has a fever but that's due to his infected injury which is still inflamed. Most of the injuries I thought had healed haven't and that is why he's in some much pain, it also doesn't help that Draken wants to shift when did he last shift?"

She said his injuries had healed and now their not! This is ridiculous!

"He hasn't shifted for almost five weeks now. What's going on Amy, you said he's injuries had healed and now their not."

Sky started to shake and whimper like he did yesterday. He's sick and I didn't notice. He's sick and in pain and I can't do anything to help him! I hate this, I want to help him and I can't!

"I've got you Sky, it's alright. Sssshhh. Amy can you give him something, he said everything hurts and he's burning up."

She slowly walked over and looked at me as if to ask if she could touch Sky. I took a deep breath and nodded to tell her she was okay to check Sky's temperature.

"Your right. Okay let's get him onto the bed and I'll put in an IV with some antibiotics then I'll give him some stronger pain medication. Hopefully this should bring down his fever and he won't be in so much pain. I'll hook him back up to the heart monitor as well just in case."

I nodded and carefully placed Sky on the bed. Looking at him he still looks fragile, he needs to start eating properly soon.

I moved over to the sink to fill a bowl of water and to grab a flannel.

I need to do something helpful. I walked back over I gently started to wipe the sweat off Sky's head.

Why him? Why is my mate in so much pain, what did he ever do to deserve this kind of suffering. When I get my hands on Makayla's dad I'll make him regret ever stepping foot onto my territory let alone hurting my mate.

"Okay if he starts to get worse call me but he should be fine. Zayn, you should try and get some sleep you can't look after Sky if your about ready to drop yourself."

I know she's right but I can't worry about myself right now not when Sky needs me most.

"I'll rest..I'll rest later okay."

I whispered as she walked out the door leaving me and Sky alone again. I wonder how long this will last, this moment with just me and him in this peace.

'Wish we could hear mate's voice. I miss mate.'

I know buddy. I miss Sky and Draken too but they'll be back to their old selves soon I promise. Once they heal up everything will be fine.

"I've got you Sky. I've got you my mate. When your better I'm going to take you somewhere special Sky and at school I'm going to stay by your side. The team has missed you, we're falling apart without our quarter back according to Ryder."

I smiled at the memory of when Sky became the quarter back. I was so proud of him then and I still am now, he worked so hard.

"Zayn? Hey bro, you were day dreaming again. How's Sky today?"

I looked over to see Ashton and Ryder walking over to sit in the seats opposite me next to Sky.

Ryder wouldn't stop smiling but it's rare to ever see him not smiling.
His past was probably one of the worst in this pack but he doesn't let it affect him he's always smiling and seeing the positive side of everything.

He's got a kind heart and that is what Ashton loves most about him.

"Hey guys. Sorry I was just thinking about Sky. He was burning up early and he's in a lot of pain but Amy's given him some antibiotics and some strong pain killers so hopefully he'll get better soon. Draken is a cause for concern, Sky hasn't shifted in five weeks and I think that's adding to his pain."

Sky started to whimper again and I gently wiped his head again.

"He'll get better Zayn don't worry. He's stronger then anyone thinks, he'll be back on his feet in no time."

I know Ashton's right but I can't help but worry, I've felt Sky's pain.

"Zayn when was the last time you slept you know properly in a bed for eight hours without being woken up."

I rolled my eyes what is it with everyone and asking me about my sleep or telling me to rest, first Silas then Amy and now Ryder. I'll rest when Sky is better, I'll sleep when he's safe and healthy by my side.

"I slept last night for a few hours, I just..I don't want to leave Sky alone. I need to be close to him. I had a panic attack when he just went to get an MRI scan. I need to know he's safe and he's sleeping soundly by my side for me to sleep. I love him so much, I..I can't leave him alone, I can just picture something bad happening to him and I don't think I could bare losing him again."

I caressed Sky's cheek before focusing on our bond to see if Sky was in pain but he wasn't in as much pain as he was those meds are strong.

"We understand that Zayn just..just try and get some sleep okay."

I looked over to them and nodded before we said our goodbyes and I was once again alone with my mate.

I kissed Sky's lips before getting comfortable in my chair. I rested my head on my hands and placed one hand on top of Sky's. I'm so tired, everything that's happened over the last five weeks is finally catching up with me.

"Goodnight Sky, I love you Babe."

I whispered before my eyes slowly started to close. I want to stay awake and watch over him but I'm just so tired.
