Chapter 65 | Leland
Felix sighed when he heard a knock at the door, "Who is it this late?"
"That made you sound so old." Marci replied.
He snickered, "I'm getting up there in age, you know."
"You're dead. You don't age anymore." She reminded him.
"Oh, yeah." Felix laughed as he dragged himself out of bed.
It wasn't really that late, but late enough no one should be bothering them. He opened up the door and saw the two elves on the other side. They both looked pretty tired, considering they'd just done two major surgeries. Then he noticed Croc looming behind the two of them. He didn't look that happy. Felix slipped out of the room for a moment to have this conversation in the hall.
"Hand him over." Croc growled.
Remington hugged the sleeping corgi closer to his chest, "I don't wanna!"
He sighed, "I was nice enough to let you keep them for a day. Now, will you please give him to Felix?"
"Fine, but I call dibs on giving him all his baths from now on. We're bath buddies."
"Aren't you guys going back home soon, though?" Felix asked.
"Only to go pack our things. We've decided to move here permanently." Emerson responded.
"Remington." Croc sneered.
He huffed, "Yeah, I'm doing it." Hesitantly, he let Felix take the puppy. He really didn't want to give that dog up. "I don't get why he gets to have the little baby. Shouldn't I get seniority over this situation or something?"
"This little guy is special." He replied, "And he's not for me. He's for Marci. Thank you, Croc. You're my favorite uncle now. Don't tell Ryan I said that."
"I'm not your uncle yet, kid."
Felix smirked, "Yeah, but you will be soon, right?"
"Working on it. Speaking of, I should get back to Mike. But first," He gently picked up the kitten in Emerson's hands, "I'm taking this little guy to Micah. I don't trust you to do it."
"You're not nice." He pouted.
Croc scoffed, "I'm a demon. What'd you expect?"
"It's really hard for even you to look tough holding a kitten." Felix said.
"Fuck you." He snarled, "Cats are some evil bastards. You better hope she never goes after one of Covey's birds or one of my snakes."
He rolled his eyes playfully, "Goodnight, guys."
"I feel lonely now." Remington complained.
"You've still got me." Emerson replied.
He looked at him like he was an idiot. "Don't be ridiculous. You could never dream of filling the hole in my heart that was left after they took that baby away from me."
"You're such a drama queen." He sighed as he started to walk back to his room.
Felix decided he'd had enough of the soap opera. He walked back into his and Marci's bedroom. She had taken the time he was gone to go freshen up for bed. While she was in the bathroom, he set the puppy down on the bed. Then he sneaked in behind her, wrapping his hands around her waist.
"Mmmh," He hummed in her ear, "You're wearing that perfume that does things to me, Babe."
She giggled, "Stop! Your hair is tickling my neck."
"Oh, yeah?" He smiled mischievously and tapped his fingers along her sides.
"Stop! Stop!" She laughed, "You know I hate being tickled! Stop!"
Felix couldn't help but smile when she did. "You're so beautiful. I got something special for you. Croc was nice enough to pick it up for me while he was on Earth. Come here."
He led her back into the bedroom. Felix leaned over the side of the bed and pulled the silk sheets back. Beneath them laid a sleeping corgi. He looked up at them and yawned slowly. Marci's heart nearly broke. It'd been years since she'd seen an actual corgi in person. She actually felt like she was going to cry.
She sat down beside him and delicately pulled him into her lap. "Hi, Baby. Oh, you're so precious."
"I know you've always wanted a puppy but couldn't take care of one because of your condition. So, I did a little research. By that I mean I made Casper do it for me, but I mean, he loves any excuse to read. Anyways, he found out that sometimes, dogs can get something called Addison's Disease. It's very similar to what you have, and it makes them sleep constantly. He's just like you. You guys can sleep all day together now."
Marci looked up at him with her eyes rimmed with tears. She covered her face as she tried not to cry. Then she reached her arms out towards him, pulling him into a hug, "I love you so much. This is the sweetest thing you've ever done for me. You have no idea what this means to me, how much you mean to me."
"I'd do anything to make you happy. I'd say you're the reason I live, but I'm not alive anymore. You know what I mean, though." He laughed. Felix softly kissed her forehead, "I love you, Marcaline. You've made me the happiest being in existence. And now, we can finally have a family of our own. I'll let you pick his name."
"Leland." She responded without even having to think.
He smiled and petted the corgi's head, "Leland it is then. Welcome to the family. We're pretty fucked up, just so you know."
"Both the good kind and the bad kind." She added, "It balances out. At least, I think it does."
"Depends on the day." He joked.
Felix sat down beside the two. He kissed Leland's head, then Marci's lips. His hand slipped around to her hip. They'd finally found their happy ever after. There's still plenty of obstacles to get over, but the important part is they're together again.

A smile graced Paris' face as he leaned his head back. His lover's lips pecked along his neck, making him moan and giggle. Micah was so delicate, it made him feel like he was on a cloud. He hummed softly, tracing his fingertips along Paris' collarbone, "Je veux te dévorer*."
Paris laughed softly, "But, if you do that, who will make you dinner every night?"
"I suppose you're right." He sighed and kissed the tip of his nose, "You'll always be my favorite dessert."
"Vous êtes si ringard*." Paris teased him.
Micah climbed off of him as there was a knock at the door. He glanced back at the bed, replying, "You say cheesy, I say romantic." He really didn't care that he was shirtless. Whomever was bothering him this late would have to deal with it. Micah opened the door, seeing one of the few creatures in the manor who could tower over him.
"Sorry it took so long." Croc said as he offered over the kitten, "Emerson kidnapped her."
He chuckled, picking up the small ball of fur delicately, "That's okay. She's perfect. She looks exactly like Friday's stuffed animal."
"I tried my best to get her as close as possible. Just so we're clear, I only did this because Felix asked me to. Don't expect anymore favors." He crudely responded.
"At least I can appreciate your honesty. Thank you for doing this for me, and for Friday. She truly deserves it after all she's been through."
Croc scoffed, "I'll never understand vampire logic. You're the one who was in a coma, but you're rewarding her?"
"Yes, because she was the one who stayed by my side the entire time and took care of me. All I did was lay there." He joked.
"I guess I can see where you're coming from. It's late." He groaned, turning to leave.
"Yes, it is. Thanks, again." Micah replied. He closed the door again and carried the baby kitten over to the bed. "I'll wait until morning to give her to Friday. Which means you'll have to sleep with us tonight, little one."
Paris smiled at her, "Aw, aren't you precious? You know, as happy as Friday will be, I can't see a kitten fairing well with Joy's OCD."
"Then I suppose it's a good thing Joy's finally getting her own room." He replied, "Jasper said he thought she finally deserved it. The only reason she was forced to share a room was because Finch didn't want Friday alone. He thinks she's grown up enough to finally be allowed her own room, plus this little angel will be with her." He cooed softly.
"You know she's going to become Friday's whole world. She might even forget about you." He replied jokingly.
"She better not." Micah replied, "I know it's kind of weird for me to say this, considering certain things that happened in the past, but I do consider her like a daughter to me now. In a way, I look at her as our daughter, since we could never have our own."
"You mean because we're gay or because our souls are doomed?"
"Both, I guess. You know, I just realized that means Marci will outlive me most likely. We like to think ourselves as the tragedy because we're doomed to never move on, but at least something will happen to our souls. Marci and Felix, along with all his brothers, will be stuck here for all of existence. Even when all other life ceases to exist."
"Why did you have to make it so depressing?" Paris sighed. He rested his head on his mate's shoulder, looking down at the kitten. "It's hard to ever be upset around that little face, though, isn't it?"
Micah chuckled, kissing his temple gently. People will come and go. Life will continue to spin it's wheels, but they're all frozen in time. They can't age, they can't move on. They're eternal slaves to an afterlife they will never see. It is a true picture of a tragedy.
