Ok so if you're a PJO fan you likely already know Zoë Nightshade. Though many of us, at least in fan fictions I seen involving her, incorrectly mark her age as roughly 2000.

So let's get the setting/backstory straight. We know that Zoë was alive during the 12 labors of Heracles. And she helped Heracles on one of his later labors and was subsequently disowned by her family. She was further betrayed by Heracles when she asked for him to take her with him on his travels and he declined thus leaving her on her own. Sometime after that she joined the hunters of Artemis.

Ok now that we know that backstory, let's get to the time setting of the books which occur roughly from 2005-2011 or 2012 if you're including up to the end of trials of Apollo.

Thus if Zoë was approximately 2000 years old she would have been born during the time of the Roman Empire not during the time of Heracles.

Heracles, according to myth, was during Mycenaean Greece and more specifically before the Trojan war which is believed to happen during the 1200s BCE (from what I could find). Now here's the problem 2000 years from mid to late 2000s doesn't reach that far.

In actuality if you match Zoë's age to the myths of Heracles's time it comes out to be that Zoë is right around 3000-3030 years old. Assuming she was born during the same time period as Heracles.

However, she could likely be older than that as she was technically immortal before she was kicked out of the garden.

But let's step out of the myths and look at the primary sources of those myth which came from Archaic Greece, sometime later and even still 2000 years doesn't bring her to the correct time again

So can we, mostly you all, stop discounting Zoë of like 1000ish years of life and service to the hunt.

Like yeah I can concede her only being lieutenant for 2000 years as not much is known about the position other than Zoë and Thalia had it. But saying that that is her age is just blasphemy it would be like saying Thalia is 2 or 3 years old at the end of HoO.
