:0 le gasp what do we have here it is but a dare
Well, well, well, TheLegendOfFrosty, it seems we meet again...
Okay, now onto the dare!
I was asked to "Write a short chapter about a unicorn cat frog and somehow make it epic and suspenseful." That I can do, my frosty friend! I will make it as epic and suspenseful as possible! On with the story!
Felicia was an... interesting creature to say the least. She had the strange appearance of a unicorn crossed with a cat... and a frog. Her family history was complicated. With a unicorn as a father, a frog as a mother and a cat as her great aunt, (as well as a few other animals down the line) she had inherited characteristics of many animals, both physically and mentally. Her legs were that of a frog, and the rest of her body was mainly unicorn, other than the ears and tail of a cat as well as a few other traits.
Felicia was obviously bullied quite a bit by other animals, even other hybrids. Because, even though there had been many animal combinations right from the start in this strange realm, (for example, a horse and a narwhal, or a horse and a bird) Felicia just didn't look right. Her white fur clashed horribly with the greenish-brown of her frog legs, and that with her ginger ears and tail. Because of this, she had next to no friends, and they had all abandoned her to make themselves look better. But one day, she decided that she'd had enough.
"Hey Felicia!" Eloise the dolphin-pigeon chirped as Felicia walked by the river through the forest. Eloise was one of the many people Felicia had to deal with on a daily basis. She was never truly upset by those people, but they really could get on her nerves.
"Just be quiet already," Felicia snapped, croaking slightly. She was part frog after all. "I've already heard what you're gonna say about a million times already. Saying it again won't do anything but get me angry with you. You don't want that."
Eloise laughed. "It's not like you can do much, you-"
But Felicia had already had enough. She was sick of being judged all of the time. She was sick of the stupid remarks she got whenever someone saw her. Why was she the target? There were plenty of others who probably looked even more ludicrous than her! But what others seemed to forget, stupidly so, is that she could do magic. Powerful magic. She gritted her teeth, snarling.
"If you are just going to keep talking," Felicia said, hatred etched in her voice. "Then I will make you, and everyone else who has ever insulted me, rue the day they ever made fun of me for no reason but their own enjoyment."
Eloise flew back a little, trying, and failing to hide her fear. "Ha! You can't do that! You'd get in huge trouble."
"Don't pull that card on me! I have had it with you and everyone else's immense stupidity!"
Eloise tried to fly away, but Felicia's magic took hold of her and dragged her down into the rushing stream. She knew it wouldn't truly harm Eloise, as she was part dolphin, but it gave her huge satisfaction to see the bird-mammal hybrid struggling. Felicia smiled. She had truly cracked, this being the last straw in years of torment.
Or maybe she had always been insane, and this was just a reason to unleash her true self. Maybe everyone had disliked her for more than just appearance. Maybe they had feared her. That idea pleased Felicia. But in all honesty, that made even more idiotic to bully her. They probably did just think of her as a freak.
After a minute, she freed Eloise from her underwater confines. She was spluttering as she came up for air. Pathetic. Especially for a dolphin. Felicia debated letting Eloise go, but it would be better if she was kept here. Far easier to draw the others to her. The main village was nearby.
"Now," Felicia said, keeping hold of Eloise with her magic. "If you don't do exactly what I say, I will make your life hell. Understand?"
She nodded, whimpering.
"Good. Okay then. Scream. As loud as you can."
Eloise did so. She probably would have anyway, given a few more minutes. It was lucky that she was such a loud screamer. It made Felicia's job much, much easier.
Creatures came out of their diverse habits to see the commotion and rush to help whoever was in danger.
"Oh my gosh, Eloise, are you okay?"
Felicia had already hidden up a nearby tree by the time anyone had arrived, with the instruction to Eloise to lay on the grass, faking injury. Of course, she didn't have to fake it. Felicia took care of that, as well. A quick stab with the horn to her wing, as well as knocking her out. Nothing fatal, but still a rather big deal to the simple minded.
"What happened? Can you-" Thomas, the dog-turtle who had been first to arrive, screamed as they too were slammed into the dirt and held there, unconscious. Everyone was starting to arrive now. And they had noticed the bodies.
"What's going on?"
"How did they get hurt?"
"What do we do?"
Confused voices echoed through the trees. It was time. Without any hesitation, Felicia jumped down from the trees and unleashed the spell she had been charging. A shockwave went through the ground, wounding any animal within reach. Felicia no longer cared if they were responsible or not. She had gone past that point, and now she simply wanted to harm everyone in sight. There was manic laughter joining the shouts, which Felicia registered as her own.
People tried to run but Felicia was too fast for them. The traits of many animals down her bloodline assisted her in being much more powerful than many of the others, and she easily stopped them with various magic barricades, as well as physically running to block them. Some however, put up quite a fight, leaving her slightly more tired at the end of each small battle. Whether they were dead or wounded, Felicia didn't care. She just kept going until she had taken down every animal in the clearing. As the last one fell, Felicia knelt down in the river, breathing heavily.
How she hated them all.
She then proceeded to sleep with her head resting on the side of the riverbank. Her energy supplies had been exhausted by her use of magic, and she needed a rest before she could deal with the figures scattered around the trees. But she didn't realise that not everyone had been eliminated.
Felicia didn't wake up in the clearing.
Okay, and I'm going to leave it there! I hope this was good enough for you, TheLegendOfFrosty! Moral of the story- don't piss off someone who you think is visibly insane. It's not exactly a short chapter, but I really was enjoying writing it! Check out my other stories, and maybe add them as well as this one to your library so you know when I actually write something! Thanks for reading!
