Chapter Thirteen
I'M NOT DEAD I JUST FORGOT THAT I HAD BOOKS TO UPDATE I PROMISE- okay, maybe I had a not-so-little case of writer's block, but we don't talk about that. Hope ya'll enjoy this (very) late chapter thirteen! Also, I just want to say: I might do a lot of Moon, Qibli, Tsunami and Glory POVs, because those are kind of my main POVs for their groups I guess? So... yeah. You'll probably be seeing a lot more JW than DoD right now, but don't worry, I still am going to do plenty of the DoD! I just have more ideas for the JW right now.
(Moonwatcher's POV)
I was thrown into a wall by the force of the explosion, and my skull hit it painfully on impact, causing darkness to crowd my vision... the smell of smoke was everywhere.
I blinked, looking up at Winter's clear blue eyes as he spun me on the dance floor. What was that? I thought, before realizing Winter was saying something.
"-enjoying yourself?" the pale boy asked, giving me a small smile. Realization struck me.
"Winter, we have to get out of here now." I said, panic flaring inside me. I knew what I had seen. Fire, death, bodies everywhere, so much death. Winter gave me a confused, and slightly injured glance. Ignoring whatever he said next, I grabbed his forearm, dragging him along with me as I frantically looked around for Qibli, Turtle, and Kinkajou.
Finally, I spotted Qibli dancing with a girl I recognized from history class- Lynx, I remembered. They were laughing, and as the song ended, Qibli gave a dramatic bow.
I hurried up. "Qibli, Lynx, you both need to get out of here, now. Don't ask why, just please- and get as many people out as you can."
Lynx gave me a confused glance, laughter gone. "What are you talking about? What could possibly happen?" Qibli's eyes flicked over to Winter, who shrugged.
Moon bit her tongue as a headache hit her, along with flashes of more death, more blood, and fire. As she opened her eyes, she realized that all three of them were staring at her. And that's when the ballroom exploded.

(Glory's POV)
I opened my eyes to a clear, dark blue sky.
I sat up, groaning softly as I rubbed my head where I must have hit it. Looking around, I noticed that instead of being in the ballroom, I was outside in a small courtyard nearby. I could see several ambulances already there, and small fires were all over the building.
I finally noticed the silhouette of a person sitting on the ground nearby, watching the scene. I figured that they must not have noticed me yet, since they weren't paying any attention.
I stood up slowly, feeling a little dizzy but otherwise fine. As I walked over to the still figure, I finally recognized it to be Deathbringer. "Hey," I murmured as I sat near him.
Deathbringer turned towards me, his midnight-blue eyes glinting in the faint light. "Hi," he said back, responding in the same low tone that seemed to fit the solemn moment.
After a moment of awkward silence, in which Deathbringer turned his head away again, I spoke. "It feels a bit ridiculous to be wearing this now, considering what just happened. Not that I really know what happened," I added, fingering the hem of my dress.
"Mmm. Well, all I know is that the ballroom exploded. Somebody must've planted some sort of explosive ahead of time," Deathbringer commented, facing back towards me.
I didn't really know what to say in response, so I tried to change the subject. "So... how come we're the only ones out here?"
I looked up and realized Deathbringer was staring at me. "What?" I asked.
"Nothing," he said, turning away, but not before I noticed a flash of something that looked like pain crossed his face.
I scooted closer, worried now. "Deathbringer, what's wrong?" That's when I noticed that there was blood dripping down the side of his face. "You're hurt."
"It's nothing. Just a scratch."
Without even realizing I had moved, I reached up to wipe some of the blood away. When Deathbringer froze, I quickly yanked my hand back, suddenly self-conscious. "Sorry," I muttered.
I could hear him clearing his throat, and my eyes flicked back up to him for a moment, before going back to staring at the ground again.
"Glory, I..." Deathbringer started in a hoarse voice, before breaking off.
If he ever planned to finish what he was saying, I didn't know. Because a moment later, Deathbringer Black was kissing me. For a moment, I was too shocked to do anything other than sit there. For a heartbeat, I kissed him back before he pulled away, guilt shining in his dark eyes. I opened my mouth to say something, but he placed a finger over my lips to quiet me. "I'm so sorry, Glory," he said, his voice breaking. That's when I saw the tears shining in his eyes. Before I could ask him what was wrong, or say anything, really, I felt a blow to the back of my head and everything went black.
